The game looks great and plays reasonably well for what it is -a prototype. The graphics and sound are very cute and the style is lovely - music fits in well with the different areas. There are issues, however. More than a few times the enemies will not be harmed by jumping on them. There's also no instructions to figure out how to play the game in the game itself - you need to press various buttons to figure that out and try things out to see if they work.
The maps are quite large at times and you don't really fun fast, so it can be a little annoying to get around. Because the maps are so large, a lot of details are just spread out and make the areas seem less interesting than they should be. This is why the desert map was my favourite (aside from the kicking music) - it made use of large mountainous structures and twisting areas to create a sort-of maze area. Thus it was more decorated and had less empty room than the rest of the maps did.
There's also some places where you are reset as though you fell in water/off the world that don't make sense. The last stage has a bug with the coin counting - if you get over 100 it only shows the first two numbers. There is also an issue on start-up where if you chose a windowed option in the pre-game settings it ignores your choices and makes the game full-screen anyway.
The game itself isn't hard - you can avoid all the enemies and getting the coins isn't really necessary for anything. There's no real aim to the game but to get to the end of each stage, which is a very easy thing to do. As an example of visual and sound styles the game is quite nice. As an example of gameplay, it leaves a bit to be desired.
It's ultimately lovely to look at and presents a very pretty world with a cute character and great music, however as a game it's really not that fun to play, feeling rather lifeless and pointless.
