Thank you for playing it, and we appreciate the feedback!

Some of the camera changes seem to be a bit more extreme than necessary, but it's something to look into now that we've had feedback from people

Thank you for playing our game!

Thank you!

Yea it seems some of the cameras have some unintended results, but I'm glad you still managed to enjoy it

I'm glad you enjoyed!

The very first enemy will chase you no matter what, the trick is to lead it back into the spike trap - but we could've possibly explained that a bit better
Every other enemy follows the 'as long as you haven't made a noise or touched it, it can't see you' logic, and that's where the crouch mechanic comes in!

As far as the story goes, think of the 2D cutscenes as the prequel events that led to the creation of the laboratory. It would've been nice to have more in-game items tying it all up, but we were already stretching ourselves pretty thin by the end of the 7 days

But thank you for playing it and leaving us some feedback!

oh man this was such a gem, very fun idea and great execution

While in terms of content, it's clear you didn't have enough to expand as much as you wanted, what you gave us seems incredibly polished and thought out

I love the sound design too, it's so simple yet effective

The best way I can put it is this just feels like a slice of an already finished video game. With enough time to add more content and variations, I could easily see myself spending way too many hours scratching fake lottery tickets to pay for my fake rent and my fake cigarettes

Great job!

Thank you for playing!

Thank you!

I appreciate the in-depth review!

Sorry to hear you had lighting issues. The game can be a bit harder to run on certain hardware, and it seems to lead to some unintended visual bugs. We would have loved to look into tuning performance and adding visual settings, but with the jam time limit, it became impossible - hopefully after! The lighting is such a big part of the mood of our game, so I can understand how those issues could impact your experience

Camera placement is another of those tricky things that seem a lot more obvious when you know the map layout, but seeing some of the responses, it's clear that it could've been adjusted further to make the transitions between them smoother

Regarding the noise mechanic, it serves as a way to prevent enemies from going into alert mode - but once they're chasing you, it's time to run!

In any case, whether you liked it or not, I still appreciate you taking the time to play our game and giving us your thoughts on it

Thank you! Silent Hill is (obviously) a huge inspiration, so I'm glad it comes through the game itself

Thanks!

Thank you for playing!

We did consider tank controls early on, but we know they can be a bit divisive, and ultimately we thought something people were more familiar with could be more helpful

I think a better tuning of camera placements could help a lot of our movement problems, but time was limited, and it's one of those things you notice best once you have people that don't already know the map layout testing it out - maybe if this had been a longer jam!

Still, thank you for giving it a shot and letting us know your thoughts on it

Fun game! Love the Mexican culture spin on the horror theme - I didn't know about the alebrije, so I've managed to learn something new as well

The song choice is great, but I found it to be just slightly too loud over the in-game sounds

Having to coordinate both characters at once was tripping me up at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a very creative mechanic

Any game that lets me pick from 3 random power-ups at the end of each round can only be a good one as far as I'm concerned

This was really cool, what an incredibly creative project

Having to keep checking the second window to make sure you're not about to die is a great source of tension - I almost wish you wouldn't give it away so easily with the knocks

Biggest gripe I had with it was the health UI, it covers too much of the screen

Would've liked a little more feedback on the boss fight as well. Everything dies in one hit, so it's hard to tell if you're even doing any damage to it until it dies

The twist when you pick up the staff and deaths become more gruesome is horrifically done, in a good way

It was very fun to play, and the pixel art feels so authentically retro, too. Great job!

Very creative game!

Very interesting (and real (kinda)) take on the horror theme

The biggest downside I have for it is player feedback, the fight offers very little information to the player regarding if you're making any progress or not, and I wish it got harder until you hit the scripted death or something

In the same vein, I love the idea of going meta and utilizing the web nature of it as part of advancing the narrative, unfortunately, it's one that I think a lot of people are going to miss because there's no information telling you to come back and keep trying

In any case, I think this was a fun spin on the classic doom shooter type, great job on the jam!

It seems like we had a lot of the same inspirations for this jam! I love it

The aesthetic is great, and it really does feel like a lost old gem

It gets pretty tough when you have multiple enemies on you, but I guess that's also part of the challenge

Very impressive jam project for a single dev!

Thank you for giving it a second chance and giving us some good feedback! Some of the issues (lack of cutscene skip, audio bugs, wall colliders) have since been fixed as well

Ah sorry to hear that. We wanted to have some more options for players, but unfortunately, due to time  limits we couldn't get it in for the jam submission

I still appreciate you trying to give it a shot!

thank you so much for playing it! I might be biased, but I do love the walkie talkie as well

The framerate is an unfortunate consequence of not having enough time to optimize it fully, but I'm glad you still managed to have fun with it

This was sick! Really liked the style of this one

You gotta love a good old deckbuilder, the wordle part was pretty fun too - I even managed to get a few of the names right somehow

Only thing I'd point out is that it felt a bit laggy, I think it might be some browser shenanigans, so I would've loved a way to download it. Other than that it was very fun!

Edit: I figured it was hardware acceleration issues on my side of the browser. I came back to it, and it plays great!

Hi, and thank you for playing! To close the note press Tab (inventory button), we know it's not very clear right now and we're working to make it a bit more obvious for the player

Feel free to give it another shot!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you!

Thank you!

As far as the number of songs, currently in the game, there are 4 (or 2, depending on how you want to count them) songs - 3 different versions of the song that switch around during the rhythm section and the main menu/shopping song

I would've loved to add more songs so you could have more options during the rhythm sections, but within a week I quickly ran out of time

In any case, I appreciate you playing it and I'm glad you liked it!

Thank you!

Thanks! We definitely had a plan to add more variety to it but, as is the nature of game jams, time wasn't on our side

Thank you so much for playing!

I saw you playing it on your stream as well, it was very cool! Unfortunately, I wonder if the WebGL version introduced some latency to the note timings? Cause the majority of the notes in those first levels are timed to the beat and in your stream, it looked like something wasn't properly synced

The Windows version should not have those same issues, so I'd suggest giving that a go if you ever feel like giving the game a second try :)

But I really appreciate the feedback! Some of those notes were in fact offbeat ones that I threw in to try to make it a bit more challenging but it's great feedback to know I should maybe be more careful with it

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback on the note patterns as well, balancing them wasn't easy given the constant song switches but I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway

Thank you so much for the comment and I'm glad you did well! There's always time to climb a few spots

I appreciate it!

Thank you!

Thank you for giving it a shot! If you played on the web I'd also suggest the Windows version, WebGL can cause some latency issues

Thank you so much!

come back tomorrow! The version you played was still in development and it should play much better once the game jam deadline is over

But thank you for giving it a shot anyway

I wouldn't call it lazy game making, a lot of games are just going from point a to point b to pick an object up so you can then go to point c and get new story development, it's a game jam game after all so you can't expect for there to be too many mechanics and objectives involved

You can still have a game where you have to find the things, it's more about how you frame it to the players so they feel involved in looking for them rather than feeling like the game is holding information from them until they happen to find it

in any case, keep at it, the next one is always better than the last (usually)

sorry took me a couple of days but I played it

First of all, you said it was your first real game so congrats! making something is always an accomplishment

as far as feedback for this game, I like the creepy tone throughout the whole thing, it's simple but effective

the biggest issue is the lack of direction, once you hear the grandma tell you what she needs it becomes a lot more obvious what you're supposed to be looking for but outside of that it can be tricky to figure out where you need to go and which object is now interactable

overall it was still a fun experience and I hope you keep developing

Thank you!

hmm idk tbh but I think you should be able to build both of them from mac, make sure you have the windows build support installed though, or you'll have to do that first in order to build it

hey! this seemed like an interesting one but I've had a bit of trouble getting it to work

I can't seem to find a Windows executable in the download, seems to just be two folders with the mac version? Let me know if I'm doing something wrong

Tried it on the web as well but idk if it's build issues or general browser game problems but the mouse isn't locked to the screen so it makes it very hard to control the camera, luckily if it's a build issue that's actually a fairly easy fix in Unity (I'd look into Cursor.lockState and Cursor.visible)

I'd love to give this one a proper shot!

I think you managed to get some really cool creepy vibes going, loved the messenger idea and the added detail of other chats hinting at stuff you never let the player know about, it's a nice world building touch

Audio wise it is a little barebones, I think some ambience or some music could've tied the whole thing together a bit better

The biggest compliment I think I can give is that when it ended I wanted to play more of it!

Good job with the jam, hope you had fun with the project!

This was good! It's incredible how much you guys were able to make in just a week

Big fan of the backgrounds and man those animations were clean

Light on the horror side of things but the ending tease is enough to keep me in and it is supposed to be just a Part 1 after all

Simple concept but executed very well I hope you're happy with it cause I thought this was a great submission
