this game is so cute and well done! I love the concept, something we all struggle with in the digital age lmao. this was fun, sfx are neat, and I love the animations.

Developer

Thank you so much! I thought it would be a fun concept and although I didn't accomplish all that I wanted to I'm happy with the feedback it's recieved

Happy to see this because my group also discussed the idea of subscription renewal and liked seeing a version of this come to life. Controls fairly smooth, with more time and fleshed out levels/more enemies to enhance the theme I bet this could be a fun shooter.

Developer

I'm glad you like the concept I'm hoping to continue to work on the game as I learn new skills. Thanks for the encouragement!

Another shootem’up entry! This is decent fun - cleared the game without realising there is a dash :) The camera is pretty zoomed in, so you often get off-screen enemies shooting at you, either pan the camera towards the direction the player is headed or zoom it out a bit to make it more accessible. Fullscreen seems to be broken, but ended up not being an issue. Another issue I found was that enemy sounds seem to be fully audible from very far away, consider using spatial audio. This would also help the sound effects getting a little repetitive (another trick is to have multiple versions of the same sound, and pick at random).

I agree some more levels could have been nice - but for the limits of the game jam, this is quite good!

Developer

This has been some of the most critical and helpful feedback I've received and I really appreciate it. Audio was a last-minute implementation so I appreciate you pointing out some immediate flaws I can address when I get back to work on the game. More levels, enemy types, and an audio overhaul are definitely on their way. Thanks for the feedback and support!

Almost like real life you must go through loops and hoops to cancel some unwanted subscription.

Could have been longer.

Developer

That's the concept I was going for so glad to see it was understood. I definitely agree and have learned a lot about how much time it takes to make certain features of a game. I plan on using this game as a way to learn and test new features to use in other games like more enemy types, level design, and boss fights so I hope to eventually turn it into something I could release and recieve more good feedback

A genuine challenge, which is something I look for in games.

The movement in this game feels amazing, the dash is great. The character designs are awesome, I do agree that more distinguishable tiles would be nice. The respawn system could use a little work as well, but overall a really enjoyable game that I had to genuinely lock into to beat.

Subscribtion cancelled!!
Love the pixelart and the animations.
Movement felt really good and roll/dash ability only added to it.
Very good sound choices that fit the game very well.

Few things that you could improve:
Camera position - so it looks slightly ahead of the player towards the mouse/aiming position
More distinguishable floor and wall tiles - I found myself running into the walls constantly

Very good job with your submition. Small but solid game.

Developer

I really appreciate the feedback! Definitely going to implement those changes soon when I get back to developing the project.
