What do you like about your game?
The thing that I liked the most is the fact I managed to finish the project in 4 days and make everything by myself! (sfx, music, art, programming), despite of the restrictions I was able to produce a high quality result.

I loved the music somehow I felt that it really matched the tempo of the game. I also liked the concept and I think there could be more maps and more types of guns and/or abilities for example, it would make it more interesting. I think you can do a lot with what you have good job!

Developer

Thanks! Unfortunately I didn't have much time

You got it right to restrict your idea: you get a interesting game in only 4 days! To improve your idea, you might want to check the surrounding to the player. When the gravity change, you might fall outside of the world (and so dying) I feel dying because of that is a bit frustrating. You might want to keep that for latter in the game?

Developer

What do you mean by "outside of the world"? The red stuff or actually flying off the map?

Thanks for the comment!

Submitted

I mean:  flying outside the map

Developer

Can you describe what you did that caused that?

Submitted

Sorry: I checked again. Actually, it's kind of lava! I think I didn't saw it when I played because the color are not that different from the other side. But my command is still valid: Doing a miss fire at the beginning of your game will put you in a very bad position, while you just started the game for the first time. Could be great later in the game.

Alright!

Shapes go pew pew! :D

Nice to see the cannon used both to shoot and to propel. It would be nice to have a recharge indicator, since I often found it hard to predict when the next shot will be available, but otherwise not bad, especially for something done in only 4 days. :)

If I had just a little more time I would add lighting to the game and make the gun glow when a bullet is loaded, but I had restrictions :(

Thank tho :)

I would've sworn I'd never get past 30 points but I managed to do 80! I only felt it was a little unfair because it was very easy to push yourself into the red stuff either with shooting or with an unfortunate gravity switch. But the concept is well executed and the game is simple but pretty good! The music is very good too.

Developer

Thanks!

and yes thats indeed a problem, and I didnt have the time to tackle it...

When I play in this situation I try to shoot myself to a place I can reload and then shoot the enemy from the other side, but checking the knockback direction and not allowing gravity to pull you to the red stuff is also an option!

Every time I think I'm making progress I end up going full circle...

Wish you put the gravity indicator on the player instead of the corner. Its hard to juggle enemies while constantly glancing over to the side to check gravity. Also it was a bit rough when the knockback from killing an enemy compounds with gravity to yeet you off the stage at the speed of sound. It was still a Great arcade game though!

Developer

Lmao youre certainly a pro at this game, lets see if someone in the comments can beat you!

I experimented with the gravity and knockback canceling each other but it didnt work out well, also I really wanted to add gravity arrows on the background

ah, yeah that would have been great! My highscore is now 420. I put it in the game comments.

I love the music and the concept. I think you should add some kind of dash or jump in the air so you have more chances to live

Developer(+1)

Thank you, thats why I added the ammo packs that you can pick up in the air.

Other than a bit of a lack of the aberration theme, I would say this is actually an amazing game. Smooth gameplay that is easy to learn and hard to master, nice visual and sound effects, good music and colours. You could have added a simple background effect to show the gravity switch (like in geometry dash) but the arrow is sufficient with the limited time that you had. I would also argue that having W/S for sideways gravity is more intuitive than keeping everything as A/D, so I’m glad you went with that.

Solid game. Well done, good sir.

(Also my high score is 140 that’s gotta be pretty good right??)

Developer (1 edit)

I think the theme is apparent in the random gravity changes, which are an uncontrolled aberration of reality.

I actually wanted to do the arrows on the background and more stuff but didnt have the time to.

And 140 is pretty nice :)

Thanks mate

ezpz :D That's kind of a game. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks

This is a pretty cool concept! It's quite tricky to last long, and I think an indicator of which direction gravity is would be nice. Either some sort of floating indicator, or a player sprite with detail that shows which way they're falling. But definitely a cool game !

Developer

There is an arrow in the top left of the screen showing the gravity direction.
Thank you :)

Pretty good game. However, it feels a bit awkward when changing gravity cause I have to switch controls when I'm used to A/D movement. I would've preferred to keep it A/D for when the gravity shifts left or right. Other than that, solid game.

Developer(+1)

I thought about it and realized it can be hard to know what is up and what is down.

thank you for the comment :)
