How does your game fit the theme?
The game is about entering magical doors to find out which items lie behind it. Once the player have discovered the contents of a door, they must remember which door contains which item and use this knowledge to match items of the same type. If you try to enter doors with non matching items the undead are spawned which cant be killed only avoided using your trusty dodge. Also the doors are portals that will teleport you to another door that in the level which means you will only find out once you enter the door. More reasons to ask whats behind the door.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code from scratch, Got the model assets from synty store and modified , UI assets from the Layer Lab amd game-icons.net which have been modified, music is by Joel_Steudler, SFX from free sound and zsplat which have been modified in audacity.

I really enjoyed your game. In the beginning, even after reading the tutorial, I wasn't sure where to go or what to do, but I figured it out. I thought the symbol on the doors that showed up was where I was supposed to go. Maybe if you could see from which door you picked up the item would would be better. However, I noticed, that whenever you become invisible, you will stay invisible even after the effect disappears and it carries on to other levels as well. The teleporting was sometimes annoying, especially when I teleported right to a group of enemies when they were charging their attacks. Maybe some design changes on later levels would be nice to make it more interesting. Money could have more uses as well. Another thing, I noticed when I went to the main menu and wanted to start the game over it put me in a level that was higher than the one I was in originally. I wanted to read the tutorial, but to do that I had to restart the whole game.

I got to level 7, but when I was near the edge and enemies attacked me, I fell over the edge and couldn't do anything. I went to the menu but when I started the game again, the level counter went crazy, and my character wasn't in the room. After that in the menu there wasn't any music and when I tried the game again It was completely black so I had to close the whole game.

But overall very nice game.

I really liked the idea, I got around 2600 as the final score, the memorization gets harder very quick. Nice graphics and audio.

Hey i think i did pretty well, 2500 coins! i like the game design/game loop. At first i thought "oh but there are too many enemies but this is liteally skill issue xd it's nicely though. So congrats on such a good submision!

Interesting interpretation of the theme!

Amazing innovative game. It looks really polish and it was very enjoyable too play.

I have to say that last level was quite hard because there were lot of doors to remember. The spots that we are teleported  to put us sometimes in danger. (Maybe more different objects would be easier to remember where they are)

There aren't any big consequences if we loose because there are such a lot of money for nothing.

I enjoyed various enemies, and gameplay. Sound design was good and there was nice graphics and animations. Overall I liked it a lot! :))

Lots of fun! Had a little trouble figuring out exactly which doors were matching, maybe that was just me? But maybe a little more of a tutorial would help. Also found that the music cut out after I retried a level and I also ran through a door and then got stuck outside and fell off the map 😅overall really great game, just wanted to let you know if you choose to keep working on it after the jam!

Thankyou for the play. I have already made the fixes but cant upload before the jam is over. I plan to develop this into a full free game after the jam.

Alright now all of these will sound negative but I'm just trying to give some constructive criticism

- I don't like the unresponsiveness when trying to stop moving, I get that you did that because of the animations, but you can fix it (I forgot how to do it in unity, but there's a way)
- The doors are really hard to remember and a bit confusing overall, as a door is both something that gives an item and something you need to bring an item to. I would change the game idea altogether and add like a hole in the middle of the map that requests items. This would remove the "bring an item to the door" part which would make the game a lot less confusing, and easier to memorize the items. (at least in theory)
- I don't like how going through an infinity door (I think that was its name?) teleports the player to the middle of the room, as it can often put the player in some really dangerous positions. I would just leave the player at the position of the door, so it doesn't throw off the player
- Going to the next level should refill health and stamina, otherwise it just forces a level restart
- I liked the level restart mechanic, where the price goes up, but other than that, the coins are basically useless. Some stat boosts or purchasable one-time-use infinite door effects would make it much more valuable, and it would intruduce a lot of strategy to the game, because you are spending the money you use to revive yourself, which would be some nice risk and reward
- Restarting the level breaks the music until the next level (minor bug, doesn't really matter)
- Going to the main menu after dying keeps the enemies loaded and they make a ton of enemy noise (another minor bug)

All in all, even with most of these sounding like negatives, I still enjoyed the game, the concept is almost there but it definetly requires some tweaks.

Also if you have some time, my entry is really close to hitting 20 rates, so I would really appreciate if you would also rate mine! ❤️

I really REALLY appreciate the feed back! I agree its not negative its constructive!

Let go through the point I 100% agree with and have been popular feedback
1. Teleporting to the centre: The fix for this after the jam is that when ever the player teleports anywhere he push all enemies in an AOE. however just teleporting back here is also a good idea!

2.  Coins other than restarts are useless: True some elements that allow upgradability should be added.

3. Music Break and main menu: These are bugs and have to be fixed unfortunately cant be fixed before the jam ends.

Things that might be up for debate:
1. Maybe you are right since the it will aid the player dead in the tracks but the smooth stop was put in there mainly due to feel response which some player actually appreciated since it dint feel jerky. But you are right its a competition between feel and mechanics. The the movement is governed by a character controller and they key board keys are not snapped.
2. The game takes influence from the card memory game: where you flip a card and then remember it then flip in back upside down. Now you need to find pair. The design intention was that your holding the item so you would know which item you are holding but its true due to teleporting people tend to forget. An easier solution would be that the card on top of the door does not disappear until a new item is picked up so the player can see which door he found the item in.

Once again I appreciate the feedback it will only help improve the game!

Ill play your game right away!

Yeah the "card on top of the door does not disappear until a new item is picked up" could also work, anything that would help the player is a plus.

Wow! Great concept, and polished execution of a unique idea that fit the theme perfectly! I felt the urgency and fast pace that made me want to keep chasing a higher score :) Nice job!

Really fun game! Loved the graphics and the audio!

The game is very polished and looks great. The idea is very unique and fun. The only thing I don't like is that you get randomly teleported when you enter a door. This can get confusing and annoying especially when you get teleported into a large group of enemies and take a lot of damage before you can react. But overall the game is really good. Great Job!

I like the gameplay a lot and it fits the theme. The game feels polish and the art is really good.

Really well put together with strong design direction. I liked how the you popping out of the other doors led to some fun tactics to avoid and trick the enemies. Great work!

I like that this game is a 3D card-matching game essentially. It felt hectic immediately and that can by fun! Good job

Great Game!!! had a lot of fun, gonna keep it in my pc and challenge myself later when I am free. Really unique game in this game jam, good graphics and audio design.. One small suggestion though would be to make the tutorial interactive instead of so much text, I know that it the time constraints would have made it difficult but I see potential and making a interactive tutorial where the gamer figures out the mechanics would be better....

Kudos for making such a good game!! :D

Developer(+1)

thankyou for the feedback. 100% needs an interactive tutorial. I have the updates ready to roll after the jam. I'll give your game a try.

Nice game, very fit the theme. The art style is cute. If you could split the turtorial into some small level, I think it will be great!

Developer

100% agreed thankyou for the play.
