I've been working on this game since around October 2022. It was originally going to be a short graphical adventure/puzzle game for the 20 Second Game Jam but the scope was far, far bigger than I had thought. Handling so many interlinked story branches was a major task and I ended up creating a whole new interactive story system, called Forked, which runs on top of DragonRuby Game Toolkit. This text adventure is the first full game that uses it.

Finding a new path to go along each time was quite fun. The interactions were silly, charming, and also emotional at times. Good job, I like this really short but very replayable text adventure game! :)

Wow, this game looks so minimalistic but actually has a lot of depth inside of it. I was surprised to find every new working combination. Great concept and even better implementation, congrats 👍

Real neat concept. Sad, but gave so many good vibes for its stories and adventures. The bucket list idea was a nice touch. It was simple, but had good variety with figuring out how to get through the task. Overall, well done!

this was so.. heartwarming? it's really hard to explain. It's like amongst all this funny shit, it has this "live fast" (here literally) moral. Like sure, you can do something you always wanted to do but were too afraid, but it could also leave you broken in tears, as this is something important for you, and when it all falls apart you feel lost. OR. Go absolutly nuts and end up jumping from a plane while riding a crocodile to fly towards the top of the mountain - and only when everything else is checked off, make that call - just to finish it off. In one of these scenarios you die happy, in another one - you're in tears. Just wraps it all up. How is this so funny and so deep at the same time lol

Tried it for a few minutes, and I only scratched the surface, but I felt like each route had something to share. A witty line, a funny gag, or even actually accomplishing the item on the list! Didn’t expect it to go so deep, much less to be able to get a full experience in such a short time for an interactive fiction type game. My own game was also for a 20 Second Game Jam but I have to say this is way more inspired. Great job!

I really liked your game. I think you found a fun balance of quirky story telling and puzzle like game play that kept me involved and wanting to keep trying. Getting something right was exciting, and even when I died it felt funny and still enjoyable. A quick feedback loop also kept the game from feeling tedious. I jumped into outer space and saw the vast expanse of the world just before getting dashed to pieces on a snowy mountain top... Death well done.
