Very cute game. I love how the sprite color changes after picking some power ups.
Good Job! :)

Very cute and mature game!

It's a truly addictive game. The premise is simple, but it really hooks you. Overall, I find it quite entertaining. Great job!

Wow such a fun game. Great work.

This is a great game. Fits the theme well, has good gameplay, and fun music. My favorite parts were the item descriptions, flavor text, etc.

Submitted(+1)

That was super fun! I got first place on the leaderboard for now.

Submitted(+2)

Excellent game, very well balanced and fun, still fighting for that first place tho!!!

Perfectly balanced game. My position in leaderboard is first, so 10 outta 10 👌

Great game! It's fun to play, the music is good and especially enjoyed the UI and its animations. But some collisions need to be adjusted and the pixel graphics with vector menus are a bit confusing.

Excellent game jajajaja, entertaining, nice, great concept and animations and the way you implement the mutation on the character is nice . I really  liked it, well done!

wished i would've played this one earlier, very fun and i feel like this would be a pretty solid phone release back in the day, i just dont get what the screen mutations do? they didnt seem to change anything for me

Developer(+1)

Yeah, unfortunately the screen mutations don't work in the web build due to Godot not supporting post-processing for web builds. They should work fine if you want to see them in the downloadable version, though! Thanks for playing!

didnt know that so I'll keep that in mind for when i mess with shaders more, but yeah the game was great

Really nice game. It’s really fun and kept me hooked! I can imagine it to be a very nice mobile game if you polish it a bit more. Would love to play it when I’m on the bus, so an android build or even a official release in the play store or app store would be cool!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

We had sort of envisioned the final version of this game being for mobile, hence the odd aspect ratio. We'd definitely need to tweak some things, but hearing your thoughts about it being suited for mobile means we've succeeded a bit in our design. Thanks for the kind words!

Interesting game! UI could be better though. Nice variety of items! Good job

Really cute and fun game, at a certain point it felt like it was impossible to get through the next door. I think the upgrades had pretty good variety for how short this jam was. great job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

There is a mathematical peak you can get in this version of the game, unfortunately. It was a bit of an oversight on my part, but there are some clever tricks you can do to push your score even higher!

Good luck on the jam!

LOVE the animation and the design of everything in this game. The game loop was super fun! I really enjoyed all the clever text for everything in the game. It was a bit hard to play this game properly though. I tended to just hold up and hope for the best, which wasn't very effective but it was certainly satisfying to smash into the castle. The animations were top notch and the level of polish was really impressive for this short jam. Awesome work!

I think if I were to make a suggestion, it might be granting some ability to dodge hazards even with higher speeds, because it was really satisfying to get rolling super fast, but I could hardly see the hazards up ahead in time to dodge. But even with perfect play, I doubt I had enough move speed anyway. I also really liked the subtle pseudo-3D camera movement when you gain momentum! All the little touches of detail were a delight to see in my playthrough. I got 109.

edit- I learned SPACE BAR!

Developer

Thank you so much for the review!

I'm not sure if you checked the instructions page, but the dodge mechanic you suggested is actually in the game! Press the space bar while moving left or right and you'll dash in that direction. I believe you can find that in the instructions page in game.

Glad you enjoyed the design and animations! Wish you the best of luck in the competition!

"Ehh?! I can dodge now too?!"

This changes everything!!

I got 251 this time!! Thanks for letting me know that I missed that! Super fun! I really liked seeing all of the collectibles pop up at the game over screen. Best of luck to you too!

A fun game, reminiscent of the "cars" in Tetris. Suitable for the last 2 topics))))

I didn’t see the points I had scored and it was hard to understand whether I was going through to the next round or not. Speed control is a very nice thing.

I liked it.

Developer

Hm, it sounds like you might've encountered the UI bug from the web build. If you've got your browser zoomed at all, the game won't display properly. Sorry about that! It's a result of Godot+Itch working together poorly.

I wish it had an online leaderboard, but fun game

Developer

Alas, we are but mortal. This was our team's first step into Godot, and we thought it best to leave new concepts like online leaderboards for the future. Glad you enjoyed it though! Good luck!

Super fun and amazing job on the game! All of the mechanics feel smooth and a super well-designed game!

Submitted(+1)

To be honest this got very repetitive for me pretty quick, and I think the size upgrades only last one round. The  aesthetics and music are pretty cool though.

all is polished, from animation to gameplay, nice job
