The concept of unknown corp is kind of genius in the end

badass in all ways except x to jump, which is unforgivable

You can blame redi's broken spacebar for that one 😇

Never played a game like this before, though sounds like others have. I really liked it for what it was!

I am a very big fan of Downwell and this is a really nice take on the idea. Loved the art a lot and the sounds are quite nice as well. Having to wait for the enemies' bullets to pass you put quite a pause on the flow a bit but the gameplay otherwise was nice.

Amazing entry, keep up the good work!

I love Downwell, but like many Touhou Fangames, this game takes that concept and remixes it in an interesting way! Boss fights mid-level, going up in certain sections, and even a Touhou-style story that fits right in. It also has a remix of one of my favorite Touhou tracks, so thanks! Also wanted to mention that it's extremely impressive how much content you and your team were able to squeeze into 3-4 days! One of my favorites of the jam!

It's quite unique thanks to how Aya attack only downward! The verticality of the levels complement this mechanic very well too!

The boss fights may seem like an enigma at first, but it's really because they ARE puzzles made to test the new skills Aya acquires. When I realized that and figured out what to do, what a feeling!

The plot's really nice and clever, got a smile from me.

how do you even play this game????

Disclaimer: Played on Normal Mode.

At first the game didn't click that well with me, but after Hatate's fight the level design got more creative and I ended up genuinely having a massive lot of fun! The Burst/Double Jump is satisfying to master, albeit I felt like it was a bit weak against the fairies? It usually took like 3 bursts for me to take them down.

Hatate and Mamizou's fights were pretty so-so but Nue's fight had great design. I like how you had to climb upwards using both Burst and the normal shot to be able to attack her, and how the fairies spawning with every "floor" you ascend made doing so a tense race. Having Aya only be able to shoot downwards is a very clever mechanic.

Excellent job, overall!

Honestly one  of the most fun games I've played so far. The shooting is really fun and the challenge is pretty well balanced. It's slightly easy to rush past most fairies but that's ok. The bossfights were very fun. Though mamizou's power up trivialises the final boss as you can hold down shoot forever.

But overall great art, super fun gameplay and a very fun story. Great work!

The game is fun but very very difficult. Managed to reach mamizou's boss fight but couldnt beat the second phase. The movement is somewhat janky, maybe adding a dash or some other movement option might help? And i would've appreciated a way to see what your actual hitbox is.

The camera should also be raised more above aya as i had trouble during hatate's fight knowing what bullets were actually being shot. (maybe have a fixed camera view for boss fights?). Mamizou's first phase is also really easily cheesable as she gets stuck below one of the ledges so you can just keep shooting burst shots at her and push her back under the ledge.

I like the concept of the burst shots also acting as a double jump, but the deflection upgrade to it is pretty hard to use. It would be nice if there some kind of graceperiod after getting hit by a bullet where you can burst and deflect the bullets (like death bombing in mainline touhou games). Also there should be a way to heal between phases of a boss fight because it was really hard to keep enough lives for the second phase.

Despite all these issues the game is still fun. Aya slightly flying by shooting bullets is fun to see and killing fairies with burst shots is fun to do. I like that each level gives you a slight upgrade to your kit. The art is also very cute.
