This game goes hard. The music, the gameplay and the visuals… chef’s kiss. No notes. I need more! I shall find more.

Developer

Please do! I'm sure you'd enjoy my other games if you loved this one!

A really good and challenging game, sadly god forbids me from having >2 lives when the "Danger Lv 1" text kicks in

Developer(+1)

very sorry for the bug jgskggjlkdg, but I'm glad you enjoyed it overall!

gameplay made me very overwhelmed and dizzy @_@ and why does fullscreen look like that. mystia looks cte though

Developer

fjjdjdnsnfnd sorry about the weird fullscreen and gameplay issues you had… but I’m glad you think mystia is cute :’)

hey this was slick. very good 0stRanger clone. Void Stranger was my goty 2023 so i appreciate this a lot.

I was tripped up a bit by the controls, though. My understanding is that if you hold slash, you get put into cycle of slashes for the duration you have it held, but it seems to inherit your place in the cycle from the last time, so if you just tap slash, you aren't guaranteed it'll come out, and if you hold it, the first slash will come out with somewhat inconsistent timing. This led to a lot of deaths for me. I think that if you tap the button, it should immediately do a slash, and then not abort the mode until the timer has run down to the frame of the next slash. c:

VOID STRANGER FAN FOUND LETS GO

And yes I did receive a few reports about the slash timing/cooldowns being inconsistent. And you are also kind of correct - both the shot and the slash have the same timer variable with different cooldowns for both, so it's very easy to be in a situation where the first slash won't come out immediately when you tap. I'm not sure how I can go about fixing this yet but I'd definitely put it on my list for when I want to re-implement this mechanic.

Thank you for playing!

aw yeah. mystia vs robots

at first i thought clearing bullets gave you points but i was wrong

i had heard some hubbub on discord about bladeless run so i did it

it was very cool both ways of playing, the patterns were surprisingly doable without clearing bullets

very flashy but the contrast makes the bullets always visible (although sitting in the bottom right makes it a bit hard to see mystia over the text!)

juice, very good. boullets, many. bird, she is there

and marisa with balls is awesome

Developer

> the patterns were surprisingly doable without clearing bullets

see this is what mildly surprised me! here I thought that I made it so that you'd have to use sword to make patterns doable. but turns out I did not do that hard enough! one day I will make it so you must use the mechanic to survive...

also ye only multiplier affects score. you build multiplier by killing enemies fast to keep it at 6.4x

marisa with balls is indeed awesome

thank you for playing!!!

Fantastic! Short and blood-pumping!

Very neat arcade machine style! Especially the enemy ships, very reminiscent of the pillars of SHmUPs.
If the aliens won't stop pondering, Mystia will make them.

NO MORE PONDERING WE SLASHING

thank you for playing!

Beautiful visuals as always, and I love seeing melee mechanics in any shmup (more games should do it). It does move very fast with a screen size or sprite scale or something that felt a bit claustrophobic for me, but ten outta ten would ponder orbs again

Developer(+1)

yayyy thanks for playing!!! :3c

yeah it’s my first time working with 320x240 resolution so like!!! a lot of the movement/bullet size stuff is still in need to finetuning. but I’m glad ya like it!!!

i entered like a 3rd level flow state to beat this as an usually danmaku-inept person. amazing game

Developer

hell yeah thats what we talkin about. thanks for enjoying!

Submitted(+1)

Now this is what I call a challenge. Very gratifying to finally beat those darned orbs!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! It's definitely meant to be a harder game than my previous entries for sure :')

Submitted(+1)

this game is a banger

just the last marisa fight i felt it was so difficult to react to anything coming on the screen, but with enough lives i could pass through it.

amazing game

Developer

yeah the boss is pretty hard so I had to buff the number of lives you get a bit.

thank you for playing!!

Really underrated game, hidden gem in my opinion! The music is nice, the controls are nice, gotta love shift z x layout for shmups. Very nice gameplay, intrigued by how the danger lvl works. Decided to try a run without using night slash and I gotta say I had a lot more fun than I was expecting! Felt like a Phantasmagoria game (which isn't a bad thing.)

It doesn't utilize the theme as much beyond just "bird char in game" and "flying," but beyond the detriments to the lack of further theme use and a story, it's a very nice game! Short and sweet.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you enjoy it!

(but please actually use the slash lmaooo not using it at all is so cursed)
