Great submissions!  It's clear that this is still a work in progress, so I'm excited to come back for SMVM and see how it's grown.

I really liked the character design, the magical girl vibe and scythe is really cool.  I also really liked the subtle parallax scrolling on the background.  Seeing the placeholder frames for animations like dash and crouch is neat because it points out to me that you are making the character and animations from scratch!

If I had one suggestion, I think I would make it so dropping through the platform is just holding down for a little bit rather than hold down and jump.  I'm not sure if that would dash you plans for what the kneeling animation is used for however.  If not, I'd see if on a down input it checks if you're standing on a platform you can drop through and does that.  If not, then kneel.

Awesome submission, can't wait to see more!

Thank you for playing and feedback!

Glad you like the character even the animation is not finished yet.

Thank you for the suggestion about dropping through the platform! but I have an Idea to make use of kneeling

like kneeling for a certain duration and will pan the camera down to see the spike or place to land, and kneeling will narrow down the hurtbox to avoid projectile! Sadly am not able to make it In time T'T

Hope to see the feedback again for the SMVM update

Okay. Lots of good and lots of strange with this one. I really like the clarity of the art, the movement and style was interesting. The sound was a little bare minimum, at the art looked slightly unfilled out or finished. I didn't really like jump and attack basically being X and Z. Maybe I am just a fan of space and enter if there is no game-pad....Lots  of cool games on here without game-pad and that looses some points for me. This also had a .rar file downloadable and someone told me these are unzippable? I would like to play the download. I could not tell if the WEBGL was lagging or it was stopping a lot on purpose for you to read and take in the first scene tutorial stuff more clearly?

Either way I like the style art, and sound idea for theme is was a little minimalist, I didn't get too far in about 15 mins because of all the pausing. or screen shots pausing it was doing.

My favorite thing was the skeleton/animation or grey animation was a cool addition.

Kind of had a SailorMoon/FinalFantasy vibe

Developer

Thank you for playing and feedback.

Lagging is the problem only on WebGL build still unknown what causes the lag maybe the particle effect or a texture

still working on it.

For the .rar file problem can you give me more info about the issue? It can't unzip or unzip and can't play the game.

because I test download it and can unzip and play normally.

when i download any of .rar files it just doesn’t allow me the option to unzip it? It just looks like the only file and the file is just a blank white text obj thing… with no way to open it ?

Developer

So it looks like a blank white file? maybe you don't have a program like Winrar to open .rar format?

Does it happen only on this game file or every .rar file?

My bad for not using .zip format, I will have the .zip format download options next time.

And thank you for responding.

Cool game! I loved the player attack and various music. Reminds me of the Demon Slayer anime. Really Cool!

Here ya go!

Developer

Thank you for the clip, and thank you a lot for the feedback!

seeing the clip of someone playing my game is very informative!

I see a lot of my design mistakes that I never thought of before thanks.

I am really sad, you did not add gamepad controls.

I like the character animation and the eerie music. Looking forward to seeing a more flashed out version of that game post-jam.

Developer(+1)

Sorry about that. I will add gamepad support in the future!

Submitted(+1)

No need to apologize! :D

It is your game. I just thought it might add a lot to the game :)

The visual are nice, I like the character design and the background looks. The boss fight is cool too, tho it only have one attack.

It could be nice if it have more sound effect, such as  the title option and the player get hit sound. Also, not sure if its on suppose or just ran out of time, only the idle and attack animation looks finished.

Anyways, nice game!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

For the player animations, I ran out of time and only finished 2 and 1 frame jump and fall animation T ' T

I will add it in the next update.

OMG! THE ANIMATION IS SO SMOOTH. LOVE IT! The game is fun also.

I like the background sound and the graphic effects. I see a lot of potential to the game. Keep working on it! Good job!

I love the character, she’s really cute.

Gameplay is a bit basic and floaty, but I see you’re going to update this game for SMVM. I look forward to seeing how the game develops!

The character looks nice!

Jam Judge(+1)

Pretty solid, altought pretty simple too.
The art and animations are pretty good, even if most of it are still just drafts sadly. I also really love the char design!

Don't have much to comment gameplay-wise tho, it's very basic in that regard tbh, wich is not really a bad thing per say. The attack hits feels really good tho, nice polishing there.
I had a little problem with the dashing where my char was bumping on the tiny edges of the blocks instead of sliding up them sometimes, but not sure how big of a deal that is, I might have been just dashing late.

I don't think you're actually going to update this on the little remaining time there's left for the jam, but pls let me know if you do lol

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

I think I don't have time to fix anything before the jam ends.

But I have a plan to continue on this project!

and yes the game now has only simple gameplay

my plan is I want to make a basic base game as a foundation and continue working on it for SMVM

so any feedback is welcome!!

ah, maybe I should add this plan to the game page.
