Good Game! It is a solid Metroidvania and I didn't encounter any bugs. The level design is good & the style you are going for is cool. The end boss was pretty well done as well. The bosses slash attack could use some work so that you see it coming. My main issue is the lack of music, but its clear you did most of the assets & coding solo. That can be a lot of work for one developer. I can see potential in developing this game further. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

I agree that the boss needs work. Its pretty hard to tell when that attack specifically is coming. Next time, I will certainly make some kind of warning indicator for the player. I also wanted to make some kind of music and background ambiance but poorly paced myself and ran out of time. Though, I feel like I will be able to incorporate that into whatever I make next.

Thanks again for the feedback and thanks for playing!

Very Cool!

Hey Check it out, only got to play for a few minutes because I had to go to work! Will come back and give it a proper test run 3/5 on first impression!

Check out Chick-Magnet and give it a rate/comment if you have the time!

(The WebGL is more up-to-date but wasn't included as a Jam submission) Thanks, GameDev&Design

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

Ill' definitely be checking out Chick-Magnet!

thanks so mux

Nicely done. Fairly well-rounded for a solo project. I like that you made the SFX by yourself, too!

Thanks for trying it out!

I'm really impressed with the level of polish this game has.  Working settings screen with resolution settings and a map in particular!

I couldn't figure out how to use a fire, I assumed they were checkpoints.  When I died I went all the way back to the start too.

I see you also have feedback on when the charge projectile is ready with the particles turning red.  This is great, but I'd make it a little more dramatic as well.  Have something noticeable like a flash happen the moment it's ready and not just the particles are now red.

Great submission!

Developer

Thanks for playing! In hindsight, I should've put a text indicator on how to actually save at a campfire along with other essential controls and certainly will add those next time. Same thing with the charge feedback. I would like to have much better animations overall in my future project.

Thanks again for playing and thanks for the feedback!

Here ya go! Hope its helpful!

Developer

I appreciated the time you took to play through and review my game! Thanks for the feedback. I definitely will incorporate these things in my next game.

Great job for a first game! More enemy variety would be fun, but the game flowed really nicely

Developer

Originally, I'd wanted to make 4 unique enemies but paced myself pretty poorly and had to reuse a lot of things to meet the deadline. Next time, I will definitely create more interesting enemies and more of them! Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback!

the sounds were funny, congrats to both of you for creating a finished game

Developer

Haha thanks for playing!

Congratulations on finishing your first game!

What would put the game onto the next level would be background music and some more sound effects.

I liked that you could walk while having the map open. It just wasn't expecting to see the whole map from the start.

Unfortunately I couldn't finish the game, because I could not beat the boss. Couldn't figure out how to dodge the wind slashes. They would get me every single time.

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

I definitely want to add music and more sound effects next time!

Also, thanks for pointing that out about the map. I didn't really consider that when I was working on it but I do agree that unexplored areas should not be visible at all. Ill add that next time for sure.

Thanks again!

I like the level design and the background art is good!

need more some visual feedback or particle effect when the player/enemy takes damage

hangs enemy is cool but when it is dead it is hard to tell it's dead or still alive.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and I will definitely incorporate those next time! I totally agree with you

Developer

I just wanted to say I had to reuse some sounds and rush the player animations because I ran out of time. But I will definitely pace myself better in my next Jam.
