This seems like a cool idea for one of these "don't cross the lines" sort of puzzles. Loved the whole atmosphere. The interpretation of the jam theme is clever, but I don't really see how it fits into the game outside of the text on the first screen... Maybe I didn't play long enough.

I wonder if the issues folks have with right clicking are just not realizing that you must select the victim's pin first. I thought that right click must also be broken for me too, until I looked at the source code and deciphered what was going on there. Technically this information is available in the question mark thing, but I feel like it's buried and not stated strongly enough. Also, I just don't really see why that would need to be the case.

The control scheme is very awkward for me. Left clicking for everything would make more intuitive sense, IMO. Left click and drag the card to move it. Left click and drag the pin to connect string. Drop the thread on the board or right click the pin to disconnect it. Maybe a custom cursor when hovering over various things would help.

I'm on a macbook and right clicking worked fine in the web build and native build (from source), once I figured out how to do it.

I had issues with right-clicking it would seem. I like a good detective game.

I’m sorry to hear that! Could I check what build you experienced the issue on (Windows, Linux, Mac) or which web browser? I’ve had a few people report issues so any information you can provide to help me narrow down the source would be greatly appreciated.

It's both the linux build and the wasm build - installed through itch app. I will now test the wasm version in the browser!

Didn't work straight up in the browser either. Might give it a go in Windows later...

Thanks for trying it, I’ve been getting a few people saying that right click in the Linux/Wasm version isn’t working, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure what could be causing it but definitely something for me to look into going forward. As far as I know it should work in the Windows version at least!

Yeah, multi-platform stuff can always bite  you. Testing on every platform isn't really realistic... No worries!

Right click / Shift right click was buggy for me on Linux + Firefox. The gameplay was kinda uninteresting, but I loved the graphics and the music (and the Pepe Silvia reference).

Ah, sorry to hear that! Anything you’d recommend to make it more engaging or was it just not your type of game? There were plans to add more complex puzzles, but it was a struggle even getting all the mechanics working before the deadline. Thanks for playing and the feedback, and I’m glad there were at least some aspects you enjoyed!

Probably just not my type of game, but I felt like the puzzle aspect was somewhat missing. Connecting the threads without overlap was easy (which is reasonable), but figuring out which evidence was linked to each suspect+victim was too straightforward. At first I thought I would have to do some critical thinking to connect victims to suspects, but it was just connecting victim+suspect to the listed evidence.

That’s fair, definitely something I hope to tackle in the post-jam version once I have more time to playtest/experiment with different layouts. Thank you again for the feedback!

The music so nicennessss, I had a little trouble playing since I have a mac and couldn't figure out how to right click but just looking at the art made it better since it was so pretty and it made me feel like I was an actual investigator looking at the board trying to solve the murder. Even the thumbnail for the game is very inviting and the gif contributes to the overall VIBE. Also that little question mark was a must when trying to figure out what to do. On top of that the sound while opening the case reports was so satisfying!! GRATE JOBUU fact: after playing I switched for a forensics degree

Thanks for playing! Sorry about the right click thing, I never realised this was an issue on mac until I had already submitted the game. I will try add alternate controls in the post-jam version!

I absolutely love the visuals and how you interpreted the theme! It was so exciting when all the pieces fitted together to solve the cases. Awesome game! ^-^
