It Was Fun But The Pick up Glitch Made Me Get Bored Quickly

Submitted(+1)

I loved it! The game had some pretty surprising strategy too. I liked that the plant had less health than you did, so I'd often rush in to eat up the damage destined for the plant. The game wasn't too challenging, and the only reason I died was the aforementioned pickup glitch, which ended more runs than I'd like. I played around with it, and it looks like when you drop an item, it's randomly offsetted, and when the offset is too large, it can't be picked back up. May not be completely accurate, but that was my assessment, hope it helps.

You said you wanted to make a postjam version, and I want a postjam version too, so here's an idea. What if the puddle eventually dried out, and rain created a new puddle elsewhere? Might pose an issue when hordes of zombies are incoming and there's no damn water.

I loved the zombie dudes, they made such funny sounds, and looked so cute. Very nice game, but a tad unplayable due to the pickup glitch. With that gone, this game would be godly.

Thank you for the feedback! I've managed to fix the bug now, and it was more to do with when the item enters the player's trigger it sometimes doesn't register. I fixed this by changing the way items are picked up, looking for the nearest item in the scene rather than looking at items that have entered the player's trigger area.

Nice idea with the puddle, I'm going to play around with the game a bit and see what I can improve with it, so I'll keep that in mind! I definitely hope to make a post-jam version soon, so look forward to that!

I got a strange glitch when I picked up the plant and brought it out of the water the plant still acted like it was in the water and kept drowning.

An interesting idea, perhaps it does not follow the theme much but certainly it was well done.

Congratulations.

I like to think it follows the theme. The main mechanic revolves around how you can only hold one item at a time, so you have to be always choosing whether to hold the gun to shoot enemies ot hold the plant to move it around and keep it alive. But I guess it's up to one's interpretation. Thanks for playing!

The game concept is original, graphics look good, gameplay is fun. Sometimes there is a problem with grabbing an item how it was already said.

Glad you enjoyed it!

This makes me want to raise a plant of my own. Nice original game!

Developer

Hopefully you raising a plant will be a lot less hectic than this haha, thanks for playing!

That was relatively fun. I like the take on the theme with the last plant in the world. The controls for picking up stuff often didn't work and weren't explained. Sometimes it feels pretty boring since you just do the same thing over and over again but again, I did find it fun.

Developer

Glad to hear you found it fun! I'm well aware of the bug with not sometimes being able to pick up objects, but didn't know of a way to fix it until now. And since I will be trying to make a post-jam version of the game, I should be able to get this fixed as well as add a couple more things to do to spruce the game up.
