How does you game fit the theme?
Cognition fits the theme by having a narrator speaking to you, therefore, you are not alone!

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Our team made all the assets during the game jam, with the exception of the main character sprite and the crate (which are heavily modified sprites from an asset pack by Anokolisa)

The levels are really well designed and I loved the narrator and the references to Portal haha great job!

Developer

Yeah I really loved playing portal and wanted to include some references to it.

Great game, I like it, good sound, graphics and the idea fits the theme. Can you rate my game too?

Developer

Thanks for sharing your experience! So happy you enjoyed playing it! Also yeah will try and play your game now.

Love it! Nice game idea, cool grahpics really fun to play and the narrator also fits in greatly! Well done!

Developer

Thanks! So glad that you liked playing it!

Great game, feels very polished. The aesthetics feels a bit like Portal, but there is more mystery to this. Love it. I got stuck on what-I-believe-was the last level though. I managed to get the crate to the door and then die. A reset button would be appreciated. Good fun though!

Developer

You can press ESC and Restart level if you get stuck

Absolutely amazing. Played all the way through the credits as well!  2 of the main mechanics are actually very similar to mine, that being the toggleable mechanic (gravity) and level completion (going through door) so it was pretty interesting seeing how you did it compared to me. Of course you had the teleporters as well which made this game so much more fun!

Only thing weird I found was that after the credits my screen was black. Maybe just add a quick button to bring you back to the menu (unless I'm missing something because the game didn't actually completely fit on my screen). Also some of the spike hitboxes in the earlier levels felt a little too big and I would die when I didn't think I should.

Level design was incredible, the narrator wanting to kill the player was super engaging, and graphics + audio were great as well. Really nice job. Added it to the list of games I would play again!

I don't wanna be that guy but I've been looking for more feedback for my game but I've only actually gotten a few pointers haha. It would mean a lot if you guys could give me some proper feedback!

Developer(+1)

woah thanks so much for the in depth feedback it really means a lot! Yeah there is no return to main menu button haha! You can ejoy the music with the black screen. And so happy that you enjoyed it so much it gives me great joy to see that! And yes i will play your game as it’s the least we can do for receiving such good feedback! I may play it later though as i am busy at the moment.

Great Job!

Very well done, i am impressed. Controls and gameplay is super, I love the narration. If you polish this with a menu system, and even though the narration was good, if that is made with professional voice actor, that might improve.

Another thing is , I would have preferred slightly smaller character with bigger and more complex maps (maybe I did not play long enough?), but its a taste thing.

Overall 4.5/5 for me, very cool.

Developer

wow! Thank you so much for the feedback! And what do you mean my voice acting was so professional definitely not my first time xD and yeah the maps get a good bit more complex!

The game was really interesting. It got hard really fast but that was indeed when the levels were getting more... FUN! Honestly it was really fun but I did get stuck when the crates poured down on top of the spawn. Good physics.

Submitted(+1)

awesome game! I like the graphics and good physics for this puzzle platformer,  and the controls are responsive    the gameplay is fun and challenging, the sounds and voice over gives a bit more of a tension filled atmosphere, Overall , I enjoyed playing this one.. Congratulations! keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of our little game! Glad people like playing it really motivates me to make more games in the future

I think this game have good graphics, it was fun and I enjoyed it. Great game for making it in a week.

Really nice idea for a game and I enjoyed part of the game. My main issues were that sometimes the gravity switches wouldn't react to pressing E. The main character also didn't seem to fit with the rest of the art in the game. Either way I liked the game and the mystery!

A good-looking puzzle game that fits in a couple of different mechanics correctly.

The narrator felt cool at first but rapidly started becoming annoying to me after repeating the same phrase several times (more phrases would be great, and limiting the random so it doesn't say the same phrase twice in a row...).

Portal velocity felt a bit inconsistent, sometimes sending you really fast, and sometimes giving you little to no speed.

Art looks great, from the portals, to the main character.

This game lacks sound, but I don't think more can be added, so it's also ok.

Good game overall!

Developer

Hey Sergi, thanks for the feedback! By chance, did you play the windows version? In the webGL version, it shouldn't play the same lines over and over again (we uploaded the wrong build for windows); if it does, there might be a bug that we don't know about yet! Also, in what ways is the game lacking sound? Like is it lacking music or missing sound effects or something like this? Please let me know!

Submitted(+1)

It wasn't over and over, but it said a lot the phrase "Cut cut cut cut, try again". And happened to say it 2 or 3 times consecutively at one of the last levels (died a lot there :P).

About the sound lacking, as I say in the comment, I don't know what else I would add, it just felt really "plane" for some reason. Background sound is already in it and fits ok. I think the boxes could use some sound on them (they don't sound I think), and also the portal sounds really low in my opinion.

Developer

Hrmm interesting. The portal sound should be -10dB of the maximum system output so they are relatively loud and there are box sounds (when the box's rigidbody is above a certain relative velocity; the sound is 3D because it would be out of place as a 2D sound). I guess the footstep sounds could be more interesting. There aren't too many things visually in the game that could produce sound so unless I add in random sounds for things that aren't on screen, everything has a sound. I guess it could sound plain because there aren't a variety of visual sound sources so there aren't that many total sounds that could be played

. Again, thanks for the feedback!

The graphics are really cool, and the narration is neat. Unfortunately the game can get really frustrating sometimes. Flipping the gravity switched mid-air is really annoying because you have to time the button press perfectly. I think it could've helped a lot to just increase the range you can flip the switch from. Also, the crate hitboxes having rounded corners led to a lot of times where the character would slide off. Finally, there were multiple times where I was softlocked so it would've been really nice if the restart button had been advertised a bit better. The level design has a lot of potential (messing with gravity and momentum can be really fun), so I think that if some of these issues were fixed the game would be really fun. And of course beyond the gameplay, the game has amazing visuals and ambience.

Developer(+1)

Yeah the switches should have had bigger hitboxes all around rather than a select few ones because it definitely can feel unfair from time to time! And rounded corners of the boxes don't help either. Restart button agree as well we should have made the pause menu a bit more obvious like maybe some form of UI at the top of the screen! But I'm so happy that you found the visuals and narrator good it means I actually did a good job on them haha! And gameplay and the other issues you had are just good learning experiences for the future in order to make better games later!

The movement was really smooth, really enjoyed the game

Developer

woah glad you enjoyed the game! And thanks for sharing your good experience!

Pretty interesting. Congrats on submitting! All the best.

Developer

Happy you found it interesting and thanks for the kind words!

Loved the narrative experience from this game. Can definitely see the portal inspiration.

Developer

Yeah there are definitely some voice lines that were clearly inspired from portal haha! And glad you enjoyed our little game!

Submitted(+1)

narration was cool but platformer was so annoying sometimes. But I appreciate the fact this is the longest play Ive had in this jam. Well done!

Developer

Hey thanks and glad you enjoyed most of it. Yeah sorry about the platforming, we didn't do any proper playtesting with other people so we didn't really have a true idea as to how it would end up because well time constraints haha! Also yeah I wanted to add 3 more levels but they were just so imbalanced.

Submitted(+1)

really good game! i like the narration, and the puzzles are cool

Developer

I thought my narrating skills would be slightly cringey haha! But I'm glad that it wasn't! Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!

I love audios and your puzzles. Great creative puzzle game.
