Great visuals, both the sprites and the spell effects are awesome!

The store could use a few more details, as I couldn't tell how much buying a spell cost and couldn't tell if clicking on a spell card did anything.

Nice paced game. My first thought when I saw the "-1" while hitting the enemies was "Great. There is a way to improve the basic attack or maybe a charged attack" But couldn't find any. I guess that having the "-1" is rather pointless then.

The arrow system to cast magic spells is MARVELOUS, really intuitive and adds both another level of balance and difficult to the spells. The art and music are on par too! they work really well.

Congratulations! Great game!

I love the key input combo system- so satisfying! Movement almost reminds me of an mmorpg called Latale (east coast) where latency caused delayed movement. It didn’t feel bad actually, and the music is freaking awesome! The visuals are also top notch- aaaa…

Nice work!

Semi-on-the-fly remarks:
  1. Controls are layout-independent (instead of QWERTY), great! :)
  2. I think there is a small misprint on the game page: summon a lighting that on.
  3. Showing the prices for the spells while in shop mode would help. Except if I missed it, there seems to be no such indication.
  4. There is quite a variety of spells, nice!
  5. I think it is somewhat hard to get where the action is located: where the temples/altars are and where the enemies are. I like that the icons shudder to show some attack is in progress. Maybe some minimap would have been a good complement!
  6. I am not convinced by the connection to the theme. Except for the mobile companion (that serves both as a shop and timer), the concept of having enemies is rather classic.
  7. There seems to be no more enemies after the ‘runners’! Apparently, no more spawning after the extra time you are assigned when one temple is destroyed.
  8. Once you press the key for a spell, is there no way to cancel?
  9. Is the music your work too? :)
  10. Nice sprites, including temples and animations. And the victory screen! Looks like a painting. :) Now that I think of it, it reminds me a bit of the Overmind from StarCraft!

Takeaway: the moving shop is an interesting addition. I think handling several altars being attacked can be hard, since this is not a game about building (although the decoy spell and the earth wall one are closer to this, since they last longer). Some sounds would also help feeling the action, and some more indications (especially a minimap and in-game prices) would help. In my opinion, the game just lacks a mechanic (linked to the companion?) that could at the same time connect it more to the theme and make it more innovative. Not saying I know what, but my intuition tells me a little something could spice up the whole experience.

Anyway, thanks for the game, this is already a base you could build upon. :)

PS: I did not comment on the QTE system since others did, but I thought it added nicely to the challenge.

Thanks so much for the feedback! A lot of these are some great notes that we'll be working on for the post jam release ;) The music is ours! We have a fantastic musician that was able to spare just enough time to make us a battle theme!

Overall, It's really good! But sometimes, I can't make sure I hit the enemy or not.

Great game, especially the pixelart! It would be great if you could add a little more feedback for player hits, ex. sound effects or a little explosion. The shop and the different spells are also a great edition.

Terrific! Great bgm music, nice art.
I'd love that you could maintaing the mouse clicked for sustained fire.
Loved the minigame for using spells, maybe make them a littler shorter to keep the frantic pase.
I couldn't figure out the use for the block in the lower part of the UI, maybe reduce it?.
Another nice improvement would be to have a minimap.

Nice game! Maybe, if you plan on developing the game further, you can add some sound effects for the spells and for the damage taken and so on ... Also the UI (tower health) kind of felt like a bit too big for my taste... But overall: good job and absolutely nice art and animation!

It is a fun game, just maybe allowing the player to move when shooting. Other than that, it was great. Especially the art and music.

Developer

Thank you for trying out our game! We will take your feedback seriously if we do develop the game further in future!

Overall this was a great experience. After the first two tries it was possible to figure out how this all works and then it was fun. The controls and UI are too complex though.Having little floating names above the spell cards and marking what you are buying would have helped to reduce the early irritation.

Developer

Thank you for trying out our game! We do acknowledge that the UI and controls could've been more intuitive and that we should guide players along at the start. Glad that you had a positive experience overall!

Interesting design, although I would like more that you can walk and shoot both at the same time!

Nice game to play!

Enemies are well realized as well as the animations. At the beginning I was sorry to kill the poor little peasants but as soon as they started to attack my temples, I had no mercy and it was time for a massacre!

I'm a little ashamed to say it but I did my first game without buying any new spells! That changed everything afterwards and I started to make nice combos. Good idea these combos!

During a week I say bravo!

I like this a lot! The enemy designs are all sufficiently unique and the gameplay feels snappy and responsive. Nice work!

Good graphics, good background music, in my opinion sound feedback should be added when you give or receive damage. over all, well done!

I am very impressed: There are many spells, the difficulty is balanced, the music boosts the atmosphere super well.

Game is really fun, but quite hard. On the first try I didn't even realised that there were a shop. I love how the spells are casted. Arts and sounds are cool too.

Also, I managed to get enemies with muskets stuck behind the ruins of the castle.

I like the game,

I think it needs some minor improvements but it's fun to play.

It definitely needs an in-game how-to-play or objective so players don't have to pause go read the description and come back.

maybe have it so that you can move and fire at the same time.  Also at the shop maybe add an indication to which attack you're currently selecting along with how much it costs. For the mini-game to use the attack it's nice but at first, I didn't know what it meant, it took me two tries to do it and figure out what I'm supposed to do.

The art is really cool and the idea has a potential,  good job!

Quite tricky but so dynamic and fun to play. The sprites are well done and the spell animations look really good. The QTEs to cast spells are a nice touch.

Developer

Thank you for trying out our game! We are glad that you had fun playing it and our artists will be glad to hear that their sprites are nicely done!

Awesome game! Loved the way you trigger the spells and actually have to do a mini game to have the spell pop off. Great visual design and I think it has a lot of potential.

Thank you for trying out our game! We are glad that you enjoyed the mini game as one of our developers decide to make a bold move and incorporate it into the game!
