How does you game fit the theme?
We are not alone in space. In my game this news is far from good! As soon as discovered, this alien life has for only goal to destroy the planet...
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes I started from a totally empty project. I used Blender and gimp to create the meshes and textures and Unreal engine 5 for the code.

Wow that was amazing when the moon eclipsed the sun! Like everyone is saying, the graphics are amazing. Gameplay wise though, I felt tutorialisation and indicators were a bit lacking. Like on my first run, I flew away from earth oblivious to what I had to do, then couldn't find my way back to the earth, there's no indicator pointing you in the right direction just a big expanse. And whilst I now see you can only have one upgrade at a time, I felt very ripped off after buying more and seeing I could only use one. Also with the missiles, after buying them I was firing them like crazy to play around with this new weapon... But then I ran out of ammo... And I hadn't even started the round yet... And it costed 1000 just to replace that ammo... I wish ammo restocked between rounds, even if it just restocked a few, because if I'd known about the limited ammo + pay to restock, I wouldn't even have bought that weapon, it seems like a bad investment where every shot is costing money. Idk tho, maybe it's a great weapon, but in my monkey brain paying to maintain a weapon is worse than paying to get new turrets on earth that I keep forever. I think you should at least not drain ammo during the prep phase, give players a chance to know the weapon without costing them.
I still quite enjoyed the game, though I don't think I got far, my gear was just too far behind cos of all the wasted money. The graphics were absolutely the highlight, and it is very impressive all the things you've made for the game in so little time!
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
You are the first one to tell me about the lunar eclipse! I'm glad because I spent several hours to set it up so that it works well!
Your feedback is a great help, I clearly didn't have enough time to make it clear and understandable for the player. I could only spend two days on the improvements and the implementation of the skill tree, it's not enough.
I've been able to make a lot of improvements and corrections since then and it would be a great help if in the future I could know what you think about the evolution of the gameplay.
Thanks again for your feedback!
I am just speechless about how good this game is. It has a lot of mechanics, powers and systems. It has the coolest lights, effects and particles. It feels polished and complete. I am just amazed. Really good job!!!
Thank you very much for your eloquent comment!
So much content for a game jam game and it is very well polished. 10/10 game
Thank you very much!
Game actually looks pretty decent seems like you started working on the project before start date though which is fine but should be mentioned somewhere because it seems unfair against other projects i've seen. But overall great game gg.
Would you like to rate mine aswell thanks!
Thanks for the comment, the whole game was developed during the week for the game jam! I didn't start before. I just spent 15-16h a day on it for a week :)
That's a lot of work you did in 7 days and the results look incredible. You even managed to implement ship and planet upgrades. The visual effects are beautiful. The sound effects were good. Everything was so highly polished. I don't know how you managed it!
The difficulty curve seemed rather steep. Games should start off easier and ramp up the challenge, otherwise you risk frustrating gamers. Buying an upgrade removes the previous one, that should have been made clearer.
Overall, a very impressive entry.
Thank you very much for your feedback!
It's with comments like this that I am encouraged to keep going and know what to improve and/or change.
Balancing is really something very difficult to do alone without feedback, within a week I knew the game so well that I found it too easy. I am totally reworking the progression and difficulty.
It would be very useful to have your feedback on the future version. A lot of things have already changed a lot.
Thanks a lot!
I loved this game, it was fun to play and the graphics were really nice, especially the VFX, nice job!
Thank you very much!
Sometimes it felt like the blaster wasn't aiming properly at my cursor's position.
Also, spamming M1 seemed to shoot slower then holding M1. When there were a lot of asteroids all around me I didn't want to waist time on missing shots so I wanted to press M1 only after aiming at a specific asteroid but with it shooting slower that wasn't a very good strategy.
Very "complete" feeling. The upgrades are fun. The visual and sound effects of destroying asteroids is enjoyable
Fantastic entry to the game jam.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
Yes indeed the aiming only worked well when playing in full screen with a resolution of 1920x1080. But I solved this problem since then :)
A lot of details have been improved since the launch of the game jam. A better balancing, 3 totally different playable ships, a totally revised interface... Don't hesitate to follow me to discover the new version if you liked the experience :)
The graphics and the game mechanics are extremely impressive!
The particles, VFX, explosions, sounds! Wow! And amazing game feel.
You paid attention to so many details!
Your prior experience with space shooters and your 'sleepless nights' really paid off!
I didn't even know you could make such awesome games with Unreal Engine in such a short amount of time!
And to build complex mechanics to upgrade the space ship :O
This is amazing, especially for your very first game entry!
I have to say, unfortunately this game does not run very well on my PC, it's a bit laggy, might be due to my drivers and I couldn't get it to run smoothly. So I combined my playing with the videos I watched of it to form an opinion.
Even the title screen you created is amazing.
Very impressive, so congrats to you as well for the game!
Thank you very much!
It's always good to get good feedback when you spend so much time on it. I took advantage of the fact that this game jam fell during my week of vacation to give it my all!
Unreal Engine is a great tool but I've been spending all my free time on it for 3 years now. At the beginning, it's very easy to use, but there are a lot of subtleties to understand when you want to do something advanced. The experience allowed me to go quite fast in the development of this game but when I see what I have already added, modified and improved it is quite frustrating that you can only test this first version!
Blender, Audacity, Gimp and UE5 have become my best friends :D
Hope to see you again :)
Oh yes, free time is the best for game jams. Otherwise it feels almost impossible to finish a game!
Okay, that's very interesting! And do you have experiences with other game engines other than Unreal Engine? Like to be able to compare which ones are faster?
I mean you'll be able to upload the improved version after the jam.
Audacity and Gimp!!! ❤️ They are my best friends too at the moment! :) Most people don't know how potent Gimp actually is.
You can do extremely advanced photoshop with it if you understand the features.
So did you create all the art for this game yourself?

The game is really pretty and I like the wave/upgrading system that gives you time to choose.
Regarding the visuals, I'd just like the big asteroids to have a better indication of which fragments are now actually harmful and which aren't. At first I thought the smaller ones were just particle effects but then learned the fragments can still damage Earth.
It was fun to destroy asteroids but it got too hard very fast, with asteroids coming up seemingly out of nowhere. I would feel rather safe by looking at the sonar protecting one side of the planet, only to discover there was already a swarm at the other side. Also, it's hard to control the ship's aim. For some reason it doesn't feel like fires where your mouse is pointing at. Could it be some sort of point tracing bogus with the cam? Especially moving, it gets really hard to hit precisely.
I really liked being able to upgrade the planet, but it seemed not very useful, especially against large asteroids. Also, the upgrading UI could use something like the ship upgrade, where it confirms after you choose. I clicked on some options for a city and had to keep looking at my credits to check if I really bought. It wasn't clear what they would do nor if I had managed to buy.
Regarding ship upgrades, I got a bit disheartened when I discovered upgrading the firing rate removed my upgrade of multiple shots. It could block the player from choosing one if he already got the other.
I couldn't make it past the first 4 waves, are there really invaders or is it always the asteroids? I didn't feel like it fit the theme if it was just some asteroids roaming towards the planet.
One real minor thing, when you lose, the game shows the "wave completed" UI, that felt very strange. I clicked on next wave but at least the buttons didn't seem to do anything. Also, regarding the game over, you could make the point count faster if the player clicks a button, it's boring to be forced to wait before trying again.
Overall it's a nice asteroids shmup. I really like the idea of weaponizing the planet!
Thank you for your long feedback!
Yes, each destroyed asteroid makes appear some particles and also 5 small meteorites.
The improvements of the planet are totally essential, once developed the asteroids and meteorites are not a problem at all because totally intercepted by the defenses. If I remember correctly the first alien ships arrive at wave 5. 25 waves in all.
The beginning is too difficult, I didn't realize it while doing the tests. But once I bought a few cannons or planetary missiles, it gets much better.
I continued the development of the game since I posted it. The bugs when you die are now solved. I redesigned and rethought the user interface completely. The waves of enemies are also redesigned so that you don't get "surprised" anymore. I also added a purchase confirmation system.
Upgrades are more numerous, less expensive and it is now possible to accumulate the bonuses offered.
I am currently developing two more ships for the player offering a choice of gameplay and different weapons for each of them.
Then I will work on two game modes, a "campaign" mode with waves and a story and an infinite mode.
Don't hesitate to follow the development to give me your feedback after the updates, it's extremely beneficial for the development.
Thanks again!
Gorgeous Game! very good graphics, very good audio, very fun. 15/10
Wow thank you very much!!!
Amazing game! Incredible quality for a game made in a week. Love the graphics and sound design. The random soundbites fading in and out (from satellites or sth?) made me chuckle.
My only issue was that it was a bit laggy for me.
Thank you very much!
Yes, it's the satellite that passes close to the camera from time to time with funny music :D A little joke that makes me laugh every time I hear it go by!
Ah I'm sorry you had lags, I'm currently working on a total optimization of all the effects!
This graphic is cool. I am don`t write English
One of The Best Game In Game Jam I Really Like it 10/10
Wow thank you so much!
Amazing graphics! Love the visual style and look forward to future updates!
Thank you very much! I'm currently working on a more polished, bug-free version with lots of new additions! (weapons, ships, enemys....).
I'll be very interested in your feedback on the new version!
Very fun game! The graphics are really cool and the particles look amazing! The music feels very slick and cool. The gameplay is really fun and very enjoyable! The game is very replayable.
It was quite difficult though, but that just made it more fun.
Great job! :D
Thank you very much for your feedback!
I am still developing so your comment is very helpful. I'll have to rework the difficulty, it's a very difficult mix to make.
Awesome game! Great concept! Awesome graphics and effects! I love it! Good Job!
Thank you very much! I'm really happy to receive it :)
My potato PC wasnt able to let me play :(
Oh shit... I'm just working on optimizing the game so that it can run on any kind of PC.
I don't even know what to say, even though it was made within a week, this game is nearly perfect and I loved it a lot!
For feedback purposes, the minor issues I found were:
This is me beating the game after destroying over 4000 enemies, thank you for the fun I had! :D
Thank you so much for your feedback, it is exactly what I need to continue the development!
Indeed in one week there was not enough reflection. I'm thinking of completely revising the upgrade purchase system and your feedback is a great help! I'm sure you'll be able to help me with this, but I'm not sure how to do it.
I have already fixed the retry bug, I noticed it a few hours after posting it and couldn't change it before the end of the game jam. It was a real blow to my morale...
Thank you for persisting despite the bugs and for going through with this little game!
I'm currently working on fixing all the little bugs that may exist, a totally revised interface, more advanced ship modelling, the possibility to buy new ships, other planets to defend etc... When I release the new version I will be honoured if you test the game again and give me your feedback on the evolutions!
Thanks again, it's thanks to your kind comments that I'll be able to make this game really fun and accomplished!
Great game, great effects and well done and detailed UI system... All the best!
Wow thanks a lot!!!
Your comment makes me really happy, I practically didn't sleep for a week to get to the end of this demo.
