I found this to be quite realxing and fun. Specially once I unlocked the helpers, even if they aren't as effective as the player for collecting grass it's just pleasing to watch them run back and forth from the tombstones.

I was a little lost at start, but it was part of the fun to get to know the game, as an exploration mechanic.

It was little bit slow on the old laptop I've played at, it might just be how ancient the machine is though.

Developer

Hey Michel, thanks a lot for your feedback! Super happy to hear that you enjoyed the game! <3

Post-jam version 1.1 is coming out early next week and includes (among other improvements and two new upgrades) some performance optimization (would love to hear if that improves things for you!), a tiny help at the start and some balancing changes making especially the helpers a bit more powerful (but still very much chill to watch ^^)

I really like the graphics, congratulations for your game, a very impressive detail made in two days :)

big hug <3

Developer

Thank you so much and big hugs to you too! <3

Loved the game, loved the music. The helpers are really fun to watch all working together. Looked balanced in entire game. You did great job.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your nice words! <3

I actually love the music too, but usually I compose it myself, just didn't have enough time this jam as I wanted to concentrate on the gameplay. I hope to get around to write a special song for this one someday :)

Really cool concept for this game! I loved how the symbols on the ground start glowing up as you remove the grass! It would be nice if the upgrade could also give you a larger area of harvest and other things to speed the process. You can be proud of what you made that is a cool game! 💛

Developer(+1)

Thank you so, so much! <3

I'm currently working on a small update for the game that includes two more upgrades to speed things up a bit in the later game (including your mentioned area :)) and also tip the balance a bit more towards faster progress, will probably release this one next week!

Love this game, really chill but also challenging in interesting ways. Trying to get some of the skulls cleared is a balance between how wasteful you want to be and how much time you want to spend and that's such an interesting challenge mechanic.

Developer

Thank you so much! Super happy to hear that you enjoyed the game that much.

I really was trying to create something new and interesting in this jam, but actually didn't get all that far according to my plans. This interplay between getting some of the skulls and having to wait for more upgrades to make it easier is something I really like too, and want to double down on in possible updates to the game :)

great atmosphere :)

maybe the walk speed could be increased slightly :)

Developer

Thanks a lot!

(the walk speed can actually be increased substantially through an upgrade later on but I might just tweak the initial value up slightly)

Atmosphere and aesthetics are quite unique, and enjoyable. Liked it!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing the game and leaving a comment, really appreciate it!

I'm always trying to create atmospheric games, so it's really great to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere and aesthetics!

Definitely one of the more unique games in the Jam, the atmosphere was really nice, and it was fun to explore and learn. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks you so much for playing the game and your feedback!

I'm almost always going for atmosphere and a certain kind of uniqueness in game jams, so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

Fun concept! Took a while to understand the mechanics, but I couldn't help but finish the game once I did (took me longer than I expected)

Developer

Thank you so much! Super awesome to hear that you actually finished the game, it does indeed take quite a while :)

good game

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

This was really fun, a bit creepy, and surprisingly addicting. Impressed which how you included NPC AI in a 48h jam. The mystery of how to play the game hit the right spot between challenging enough to rouse curiosity but not too challenging to give up. I played all the way through.

Developer

Thank you so much! Super happy to hear that you not only liked it, but played all the way :) And especially relieved to hear that you think the balance was just right! Still gotta work on this though, getting quite a few comments from players not being able to progress smoothly through the game. And yes, the AI helpers were the biggest challenge and took a loooong time to get right and (relatively) bug-free :D

Submitted(+1)

Damn I got a bit addicted. Cool game! I agree with what seizar said about scaling the helpers, but it’s overall a great game!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed playing it!

Yes, the helpers are meant to be weak at first, and slowly but surely catch up to and surpass the player. But there is certainly still a lot of room for tweaking some of these balancing values :) (and things might change quite a bit with more upgrades in a possible post-jam version)

PS: Awesome avatar you got there! <3

I honestly have no clue on what is happening.

Developer

Could you elaborate a bit on this? The game is quite explorative in its mechanics and doesn't explain a lot. This is intended, but if it doesn't work for a lot of players then I certainly need to change something and give some more hints.

Submitted

I was walking around and that was it, nothing was happening. (now you see the reason why I filled mine with button prompts)

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I had some little interaction highlight in there, but my testers deemed it unnecessary and so I removed it, which was certainly a mistake and I'll add something like it again in the post-jam version. I was kinda hoping that stating that there is an interaction button on the title screen would be enough, but I guess it just isn't. So, if you want to give it another try: You can interact with the tombstone and the grass all around :)

Currently idling to get more upgrades :D I generally love anything incremental/idle so I was pretty happy playing this one.

Just my opinion but the helpers' upgrades could maybe be scaled a bit higher, it took a good while of active gathering to get to a point where I felt I could get some decent earnings afk.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Yeah, balancing this stuff is kinda hard (and takes long to test...). I tried to go in the direction of "helpers are initially much weaker than player, but get better soon". Specifically, the harvest speed upgrade makes them really useful. But it could definitely use a bit more tweaking :)

Great game!
