Nice, obviously just the bugs and it's a bit laggy, but I appreciate the sound and art/animations. The gameplay is okay, I think it would've been better without the bugs. I think it's a bit slow paced though, the enemies never really pose a threat.

thank you for your rating and feedback!

Big map, big bugs. Was really hard to play with the bugs. Otherwise the concept could have played out really well.

thank you!

Very very GOOD game

the maps are weird some are solid some aren't. and some of the enemy are just invincible i believe since any weapon i shot still didn't kill the thing.

Ok I really liked this game.  Loved the zelda vibes and loved that you randomly had new weapons to work with.  Nice graphics!  Well done

Like others have said, there are a lot of bugs. It's essentially unplayable.

However, there's a lot of potential which we can see from the animations, the enemy designs and the map (which is huge, really impressive you guys made that in 48 hours).

My personal guess is that you guys were a bit too ambitious and wanted a huge map, lots of enemies, and lots to explore and didn't properly plan out time for bug squashing and really ironing out all the faults in the essential features. It's equally important to dedicate some time to explain to a new player what the goals and mechanics of your game are.

To give a concrete example, our team (there's 3 of us) initially wanted something similar to your game but decided it would be overambitious. (Our main characters are funnily similar btw haha)  We thought of a simpler concept and once we nailed the mechanics we then worked on the polish, making a very clear UI, and creating the bosses. I think after a few more jams and a bit more experience you guys will be able to deliver a finished, playable and fun product, it definitely seems like you have a lot of potential. Congrats on the work !

your personal guess is very accurate! We definitely should have focused on more fundamental aspects. We are learning, but thank you!

This game is, unfortunately very buggy. A giant buglist fills half the screen when you start, and has to be manually closed. Some enemies can't die. Your weapon changes randomly (this might be intentional). I killed a boss thing and all the sprites went solid black, and half of them disappeared. There's also no stated goal or story other than shooting enemies. Which is okay I guess but not really that fun in this style of game.

Plus, the biggest problem is that this doesn't really relate to the jam. The weapon changing is probably a "dice roll", but it doesn't feel like it. I can't even be sure that was what the intended relationship was, because I only even saw 4 guns, and that's a pretty small "dice" if that's what it was intended to be.

HAHA yeahhhhh we know. Our team was...let's say "very inexperienced" with game jams, and game dev in general. We definitely could've fit the theme better!

Well look on the bright side, you finished and submitted something, that's still better than some people, like myself! ;)

The game is utterly bugged. Which is a shame, I can see a lot of potential in your game :)

Neat map! I enjoyed trying out all the different weapons. There seemed to be a few bugs where enemies wouldn't die, and I got spammed by quite a few null pointer errors, but that's understandable for a game jam! Good work!

thank you

they are too much bugs and errors message to be able to play it properly but the ideas of the game and mechanism  look interesting
