Thanks for checking the game out, everyone! The jam was fun. I'm working on an improvement of this idea here: https://secondplacegames.itch.io/cadaverdasher

Had a ton of fun with this. Very cool and unique concept. Great atmosphere. You could definitely continue on with a larger game from these core pieces.

Ha, that's great! We had a similar concept of making undeads to fight for the player. Very cool! I hope you had as much fun as I did seeing creating those minions to fight for you!

ok so this game lacks some polish…… but what you have is pretty sweet. The concept of digging up graves to create an army of undead is hilarious. Nice work!

Really cool concept! It obviously misses some content, but the idea is good and you could easily build on that.

The walking should be smoothed a little bit, with an animation or something. Currently the "jumping" from one state to another can quickly give a headache.

Visuals are cool!

Let me know if you continue this project, I would like to see more of it!

While it isn't complete, it's playable, has a lose-state, and demonstrates the main mechanic: rob graves to collect resources used to raise an undead army. Use your army to fight the cemetery guards.

I think that the game play idea has promise - I'd be curious to hear people's  thoughts about it, especially any ideas to take the concept further post-contest.

We used Godot to create the game, which I'm still pretty new to. We used the "GoRogue" C# roguelike framework to handle the map, line of sight calculations and some other conveniences. The tilemap in Godot is constructed and rendered dynamically every time an action occurs.
