Really cool concept! I played on my iPhone in the browser to get the optimal experience. I enjoyed the gameplay a lot, I was able to just tap to reload, which I thought felt pretty good. I like the sound and music, they fit the game pretty well. I was focused towards the bottom of the screen so I didn't get to read all the things up top but from what I did it was a nice addition to go along with the gameplay.

If you want to pursue this and publish to the mobile stores, I would try tapping to shoot as well instead of the dragging. It would give a little faster play with some better accuracy, but that's just my opinion.

I enjoyed the game and played a few times to get on the leaderboard - 429 at the time of writing. Great job!

Great concept! Cool throwback to the 8-bit arcade games.

Awesome game! The controls took a little getting used to in browser but I can see it really working on mobile. Loved the sprites for the faces too!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! yeah, the controls are very sensitive and particular about when/how movement shots are registered.
If I had to do it again, I'd probably use different values for mouse and touch. Constructive feedback is probably my #1 favorite thing about jams.

Great concept ! I got them good !

Developer

that's what they get for gawking! 549 is decent, you weren't messing around huh?

I like the concept! On desktop its a bit janky especially since it’s not very clear exactly where I’m shooting. I guess it’s easier on mobile. Cool art and sfx, congrats for your entry!

mouse aiming requires a combination of speed and precision that's definitely easier to consistently hit on mobile. Really glad you enjoyed the concept though. I had a ton of fun making this one.

Aiming with mouse seems shifted, i couldn't try the phone version but artistic side is great and there is no technical problem, good job !

Developer

thank you! I'm not much of an artist, but I've been trying to make my style more consistent at least. really pleased you see some merit in the visuals.

I can see something like this having potential, I liked the way how to shoot - aiming seemed a bit off. Maybe I should try it on mobile assuming it works.

Fun game!

Just tried it on mobile and can confirm it is a lot more fun using fingers to shoot. I think I managed to get the top spot

Developer(+1)

nice! I agree, definitely more fun with fingers. mouse aiming can be a little wonky.

wow this game is awesome

Developer

that means a lot, I appreciate it.

Really well polished game!

It took me a couple of seconds then I was like "Oh yeah this would make way more sense on a phone" great idea though , like it feels really unique and the art style is pretty cute too.

Honestly not much I can say to improve, I would deffo work on this one and get it published on the store, different levels , bouncing bullets and obstacles etc.

Nice one!

half of the dev time was spent outside on the porch working on the tablet and drinking cheap whisky haha. it was basically mobile-first from the start. thanks for your thoughts on this, Luke. you've given me some ideas on what to add once the jam is over!

Hahah , all my best work is done on cheap whiskey!  Yeah keep at this game and get it on the store I'm sure it'll be a hit!
