Looks and sounds great! With change of level after death it seems like I made progress(but it isn't so I didn't beat the game)
And movement is a little bit too fast for me

Good game overall

WOW Feels disturbing and ominous and cute at the same time. Y'all have really cultured a coherent mood. I love the context of our girl dreaming she's her bunny keychain.

Controls were pretty tight and the character design really stood out to me as one of the best here.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments!   Candle's mastery of blending creepy and cute is pretty unique.  We're ecstatic you liked it!

This was really neat! really liked the art style, really interesting double jump mechanic, adds a decent amount of challenge and depth, though it did leave me wanting for some more control schemes (i'm bad with just wasd! ><) and i liked how the falling death mechanic ties into the dream theme, great work!

Arrowkeys or re-mappable controls were a popular request among my friends who playtested it.  Those will probably come in a later version .

Thanks for playing!

The interlude picture looks great as do the backgrounds - they look surreal and lot of work went into them.

The spritework is a bit mixed, I'm not really a fan of resizing pixel art as is the case with the plattforms. It imo causes a very incosistent look.

The gameplay is janky. I never grasped how to jumping really works, especially since I can't make certain jumps and thus can't continue, without dying sadly. The collision of the two way plattforms are also really janky and a bit random.

Has charme, but really needs some polish.

Developer

These are all valid criticisms, and I'll take them into consideration if I ever decide to polish & shine this fun little project.

Thanks for your valuable input!

Creepy but visually stunning, this had a good use of the theme. Also nice application of the limit!

Thank you!  Candle excels at bridging the gap between eerie and cute, it's kind of her specialty.

This game is fantastic in the visual department, I love how the platforms and the whole thematic changes as you climb. The initial cutscene is incredible as well. I think the controls are a bit difficult at times (strong gravity and unpredictable collisions). But other than that this is a very fun and very pretty game! Good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you!  I have seen a few comments about the gravity, maybe I should tweak it down a little bit haha

Cute art!

Such cute art! I really enjoyed the feeling of falling and then waking up and delving back into the dream. Thank you for this!

I am in utter awe to the art of this game and how you pulled this off within the timeframe, kudos and there isnt really anything negative i can say

I absolutely love the art for this game and controls are really snappy. Please look into Jump buffering and Coyote time for platformers. It could really add to the overall amazing control in the game. (unless I'm dumb and its already there). Impressive work! Love it.

Thank you!   Candle is a prolific art machine so we couldn't have made the deadline without her cranking out beautiful tapestries while I  chopped away at the  programming, haha

I reeeaally enjoyed the style and the gameplay

Rly hope to see you progress!

The gravity felt way too strong tbh, but the art and sounds are awesome, wow!

I did NOT expect falling to wake her up, I thought it would be a rage game where you have to start all the way over! Great art. Platforming was pretty fun.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much!
The jam theme of "dreams" gave us the idea to be jolted awake by falling, much like when you dream in real life.
We're glad you liked it!

This was a really cool game! AMAZING levels & cutscene art for 72 hours. Gameplay was also enjoyable, although I found the jumping mechanic slightly hard. Once I got the hang of it it was alright.

Overall, Great Job!

Thank you!  The artist will be happy to see her hard work was well received.  I'm  glad  you  enjoyed  our  little game!  :)
