That's cool mechanics. It is a bit too easy and repetitive in level design. Art and music will be something you can improve. Look forward to your updates if you continue and adding more variety of "settings" can alter.

How does you game fit the theme?
Settings are used to change the game's feel, but not it's gameplay. To the characters the settings menu is not existing (it is not real). Not in this game. The main mechanic is changing the sound and music settings to proceed to the next area.
