Damn great, man!

Thanks a lot for playing it! Means a lot to us! I really liked playing your game as well since I'm a fan of running and gunning games :D

Thnx, bud. I just added a small taste of combat in "Dark Escape", glad to know that you had fun with the bow. ; )

This has a crazy amount of content and polish for a week-long jam game. I got to the point where the rabbit guy killed me and didn't see any way to avoid that... I guess that's the end? There were some points where stuff was unclear (it seemed like a couple things just required a bunch of waiting, like the girl appearing when you can't find the door code) but great game overall.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! There's supposed to be a bit more to everything,  but we didn't get to finish on time. The girl appears depending on your actions, not so much as a waiting period lol. We felt that having explicit instructions to the player would break the horror immersion and experience. Also, great job getting to the rabbit guy :D

I can tell that you worked hard on it by the amount of works and arts you put in this game. to see The uniqueness of this game really stands out keep me playing. The story of this game is pretty good and I really enjoyed it ^ ^

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing! There'll be more updates in the future, so we hope you keep an eye out. Your game was pretty rad, and I liked the unique gameplay mechanics needed to win.

So super cool!! There's so much packed into this game and its very interesting!! I'm writing this after just one play through (I died haha) and I'm so curious about this dead friend that keeps being alluded too! I really love the art too, I wish there was a gallery section. A great game that I will def be playing through a few more times : D

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it! We're hoping to add more after the rating period/a short hiatus and it'll have a little more on the story (definitely recommend trying it again once we update it since we really did crunch to the very last minute) .  I'm thrilled you enjoyed the artwork, we've gotten some feedback from others players about a gallery so we'll try to work something out for that (maybe an in-game feature or a blog of sorts)! On that note, I'm a bit curious to know which ending you got first haha.  There's definitely a lot more to the story, especially with the character you mentioned,  so I hope you don't mind waiting a bit XD

AA how exciting!! I'm glad to hear y'all will be adding more : D I believe the first ending I got was being quizzed by the pumpkin head and then being killed by him haha.  Again your game was seriously so cool, I was amazed by how much was done! I especially liked when you could see eyes peeking through the mail slot  hehe I was like : O !!!

Very impressive work, from the character/background art, to the UI and interactive element! My only gripe is having a hard time tellling what was shown in those small photos sent to your phone. Still, there's some interesting hints to a deeper story, especially with the randomized kids that join you in the game. (Managed to get the Pumpkin and the ??? ending!)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! And especially for playing it more than once XD We're planning on adding an update version/polish patch to the game sometime in the near future (still recovering from the other jams we did this month/work). We might add a gallery or an option to zoom up photos, or something similar. I'm glad you enjoyed the game overall, it means a lot to us and we hope you'll stick around for our updates. :)

Actually, if you don't mind, can I see a story board with the plot? I'm kinda interested

Developer (1 edit)

Once we polish this game a bit, we'll make a post-- a guide and some development of the game (we'll include some art and the story, of course)!

Love the title page - it's UI, SFX, BGM, Parallax, ofc only problem is the unsettling font title of "Trick O' Treats" and slightly unoriginal title. Oh. My. God. The prefs was such a huge add-on it's incredible how you made that.

The mystery / story writing in the text messages is great as well. Love Charlie's character T^T. The photograph outta no where hit different, gives me memories. Graphics, UI, and details in art are INSANE. That out of graphic clock scared the sht outta me. These kids dialogue sfx are a little weird. O hell no, I dont wanna ring-around the rosy no more.. THANK YOU for not making the bunnies TOO scary or relying on cheap jump scares. ... Got Bad Ending: Demon... That spooked me...quite a lot. I could NOT find that passcode gosh, I probably should've been more wise with my save points. It was quite lengthy. Only problem is how UNDERRATED THIS GAME IS!!! IT'S SO GRAPHICALLY PLEASING!

Thank you for taking the time to write on our page and giving our game a play! We actually ran a bit out of time (we spent the first 1.5 days trying to come up with a concept that can be done with our game engine XD) Super glad that the spooky parts weren't too much lol (there were times where we considered tweaking it). Snekovski and I are planning on patching it sometime soon since there's still a lot of rough edges, so we hope you can give it another try some time.

WOoow! You did all that in one week?! The art is great, music and sound effects appropriate, so much story and then even multiple endings?! There is not much to do though but that's the thing with visual novel games I guess. At home you the things you could interact with were highlighted but in the basement not. So I did not really know what to click on.

The fact that there are multiple endings surprised me. The game seemed to be very linear. Is it about how you decide (what to click first or so) or are there different random events triggered in every run?

For a jam game this is amazing.

I got the bad ending pumpking btw :)

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks very much! We purposely left the things unhighlighted so the player has to actually click around and explore the maps. I'd recommend replaying it because the story randomly changes everytime. There's also a few Easter Eggs scattered about if you're up to it  :)
