i dont feel the controls were too bad, i think the speed of the vehicle may have been the issue, it had a very fast launch to it. the art was great and music was jamming, it was a lot of fun to play

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! The speed definitely gets hectic pretty quickly!

I'd like to make a post on the MiniJam Discord sometime soon, describing how I generate game jam music with Wolfram Tones. Music is super important in a game, and for non-musicians like me it really takes a load off my shoulders!

(Basic workflow: Download GXSCC, then go to Wolfram Tones, vary the RULE and SEED until you like the riff, then download the MIDI file, change the rule, and repeat to get about 5 or 6 such MIDI files. Run them through GXSCC and use a script to randomize the next clip to play, ad infinitum.)

Nice! Thanks for giving it a whirl!

Cool Game! but the controls are a bit weird

Developer

Haha, yeah, they are a bit hectic. I'm glad you had fun, though. Thanks for giving it a try!

This was great fun; colorful and bouncy, chaotic yet achievable. Managed it in just over a minute.

You might consider having a radius around the pickup and drop-off points that are considered valid, instead of colliding directly with the building, as they're quite small targets and I found myself crashing into their neighbors repeatedly before getting it right.

Otherwise, excellent work. Good luck! :D

Developer

Thank you for trying it out! Yeah, that's a good idea, thank you!

I like the idea of this game! the colour palette and music works nicely. I would say the controls are a bit hard and i got stuck in the corner of the game at one point!

Developer(+1)

Ah, sorry about that! That is something I found post-submission, it's happened to me before as well. I'm glad you liked the look!

Thank you for checking it out, I appreciate it!

I like the overall feel of this game, some good bounce on collision and the cabbycat looks awesome, good job :)

Developer

Thank you! It was my first time using sprite-stacking to get that "3d" effect, it was very quick to set up and I'll be looking for other ways to use it! Trying to wrap my artist brain around "sine" stuff to get the bounce working was a bit harder, haha, but it works now.

Thank you for playing! Have a great week!

Really fun Game! Controlling the car is a little bit hard in some situations, espacially the jumping over obstacles, but with the bouncing it is still fun. The graphic is very nice. You did a very good job.

I got a time of 1:49 in the first try, in the second one I had a lot of luck and the targets were all in the same area:

Developer

Haha, nice! It is a very quick game, I admit. I also should have advertised the Right Mouse function more, it helps with really tight situations.

Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your stopping by!

1:50 record! The model looks really nice and i like the controls, it's hard but fun to drive around. I managed to get stuck in some buildings, but i could get out :)

Developer(+1)

Nice! I'm glad you like it! I tried to work the kinks out of the collision system, but those pesky little buildings are as mysterious as they are tall and foreboding. Well, as they are tall. Well, as they are buildings.

Thank you for checking out my game and giving feedback, I appreciate it!
