This game is very pretty, the art and audio is very good. The main mechanic is great, although I see 2 flaws in it, a). At the beginning of each round the gap between the first and second shot is longer than normal and b). When you shoot you velocity is reset and not stacked. I see the reasoning for resetting the player's velocity so it's easy to turn around but that means that if you are close to the edge it's almost impossible to escape because you can't move your mouse offscreen. Maybe if the player's velocity would continually increase up to a certain point and would only be reset if the new velocity was close to 180 degrees from the old one.

The system that exists now is fine it just takes time to realize that that's how it works so it is unintuitive for the first few rounds.

Thanks for the reply! Ill look into fixing the things mentioned. As for the velocity getting reset, you guess is right:). Ill figure out a different way of making it easier.

I am sorry to say that I am just frustrated. The problem for me is: when I start the game, I can not skip the intro. And when I lose the game, I can not skip the highscore entry. Maybe there will come a point when I do not have to do that anymore, but I did not make it this far. I would have tried many times more if that wouldn't have kept me from it.

Apart from that, the idea is nice and well implemented. Just a little too unforgiving.

These were all points made by my friend, that I was unable to add without it breaking(With the time I had left). But thanks for the feedback:)

Really liked the game and the fantastic menu movement, my programmer side had ptsd when I killed the first enemy due null nodepath manipulation in the console :P but apart from that really a solid entry

Developer

That was an issue fixed in the later version that got messed up. Besides that Thank you! Glad you like it.

Really great entry, it was definitely a challenge finding the balance between shooting enemies and staying away from the edge! The pixel art was really nice too. I could definitely see me playing this a bunch to try and get good at it!

My only feedback would be I agree with the suggestion below about remembering the name in the leaderboard, it was a bit annoying having to type something in every time (only because I died so much though lol).

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it!

An interesting game mechanic about not getting greedy or panicking, lol. The leaderboard feature is a nice touch too.

Thanks for playing!

I love love love this. It's quite hard, took me a while to get the hang of it, but then having the shots line up with the music and taking out dudes to it releases so much dopamine...

Some details I noticed that could be improved:

  • once you get too close to the edge, in some cases you have no way to get back to the crystal as you can't move the cursor far enough away to make an impact on your speed
  • you could remember the last name submitted to the leaderboard so I don't have to fill it in every time

Really fun and innovative game with amazing visuals! (Its a bit hard tho)

Developer

Thank you! yes it is a bit difficult, maybe a difficulty selector?

Yeah that could be a good idea!
