Really impressed with the art on this! Nice lighting in detail.

The story, while good, did go on a little long. In proof reading, make sure to cut down on lines that feel like they same thing twice or feel too wordy. One of the best ways to do this is put your script into microsoft word and have the computer voice read the script out loud to you. It reads it at a slow pace and makes it really easy to catch the parts that are too wordy!

Since the game did go on a little long, we almost missed the true ending, but when we went back for it... it all clicked into place. Really well done with ending, and the story as a whole. Just trim down the length here and there and you'll be golden!

Keep up the good work!!

Great work ! We had a bad ending but still it was really nice. The story was really interesting and the art is great ! Overall really nice time playing it.

Great work! The whole picture didn't click until I got the good ending (I thought it was about something else entirely, and I guess that was intentional), so kudos for the twist. Great job conveying such a seemingly simple story that leaves a big impact on the protagonist's present and future. Art is lovely as well! Keep it up!

Thanks, I'm very happy you liked it!

I like everything about it!
The visual is really pleasant, I like the concept and the way you used Ren'Py. I am using it too, can I ask you for some help?
Can you tell me how you managed to upload the web version on itch? When I tried it wasn't working.
And if it's not asking too much, can you link a tutorial about the use of the camera (I like how the camera slowly moves) and how did you manage to change the height of the text?
Thanks in advance!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm going to try answering everything.

First of all the web version! Make sure you use Ren'py version 7.4, as for any older versions you can't create working files for web anymore. In the Ren'py main menu you will find "Web (Beta)" on the left side. It will create a zip file for you that you can upload here!

So about the camera movement... Actually I just move the image to give an illusion of camera movement! You can use transformation (ATL). Ren'py should have a tutorial game literally called Tutorial that comes with a lot of samples on how ATL works.
Basically what I do is that I just change the xpos and ypos of the background image in a linear movement to make an image move from one starting position to another end position. Sometimes I just use zoom to make the image smaller or bigger. It looks as if the camera zooms in or out if I make the movement very subtle.

The height of the text... Hmm... Do you mean how I changed the text height in the textboxes? Actually look out for the property called "gui.text_size" that is located in your gui.rpy file. There's also "gui.name_text_size" that changes the height of the name of the character. Just change the value and it will be adjusted to whatever you want.

If you have another question let me know!

Great Concept, Story and Backgrounds!

You mentioned that you forgot all about the deadline but if I didn't know that beforehand I really wouldn't be able to tell the difference because the ending was wrapped up pretty perfectly.

The only criticism I can point is that the dialogue was a bit redundant at points and the grammar was iffy in some places but that's about it.

Looking forward to whatever you come up with in the future!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I have learned from your comment and others that I need to take more care of grammar and need to be checking all routes of a non-linear story so that I can avoid redundancy! I appreciate your critisism and hope to get better at writing english stories in the future!

Fantastic artwork, one can really see you know what you are doing :)

A pretty decent game! The true ending was really touching. Some spelling and grammar errors in a few places. I liked the slow buildup you had going when conveying the main character's anxiety. Added a touch of mystery to the whole thing. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! I am glad you still enjoyed it despite my lacking english skills. I hope to get better in the future or I will get a betareader who can help me! I appreciate your feedback a lot!
