The controls are really nice, I like the art and the little jump animation. The concept of the map and player movement changing on death is really cool, but I feel like you didn't reach it's full potential. I died 3-4 times around the spawn area and then it became a simple platformer. You could have spaced out these changes to the map and player movement, because depending on how the player plays, all the changes can happen right at the very beginning of the level.

All in all really cool game, liked it a lot :)

Thank you very much! I spent a lot of time in learning stuff I didn't know before, like how to make a title screen or learning about signals in godot engine, so I didn't have much time left for the level design. Hopefully I will be more prepared for the next game jam i'll join :3

For sure, keep up the good work :)

I really like the way the game looks, very achieving the zen theme!

Thank you very much!

Feedback Time:

  • I like the premise of this game, as well as the graphics (^u^)
  • I really like the music, modular music isn't something common in game jams, so it was super apprecciated, but the "Relaxed" music didn't felt really relaxing, it felt kinda earie
  • The game imo would had been much cooler if, instead of changing just the music, i'd become also more easier
  • I'd Preferred to use the arrow keys, but there was no support for that. Phooey for me i guess :/
  • Implement the tips in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QPmhDYn6rk (Koyote Jump, Jump Buffer, Small Jump, etc.)

I dont know if you noticed, but I tried to make it become easier the more you die. The game is impossible without dying at least once... And probabilly for me it seemed easier because I played it for hundreds of times. Thanks for your feedback! It helps a lot :3

No, I've tried to look for it, but i haven't noticed sadly. I've tried to look if the level design would change, but it seemed pretty much the same to me (it was hard to judge with the vines if the level layout was the same, but it seemed like other than the vines everything was in the same spot to me... :3)

Really nice game! Nice idea, that the level look changes after death!

Hey! I have some feedback:

- I wish there'd be checkpoints.

- I wish you'd tell me my jump height increases when I die.

Developer

If there were checkpoints, the game would have been too short. And in this kind of a topic, you'd expect that something will happen when you die. Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it! But this game will never have checkpoints...

Pretty neat, although the lack of checkpoints hold it back. The juice and feel is strong, and the art is stronger. Here's some tips for your next platformer:
Variable jumps are important
"Coyote Time", or being able to jump for a tiny window after you start falling, is also important
Buffered jumping is good, but not necessary.

Pretty nice game!

Awesome game! I like that the environments change each time after death, and it gives a feel of making progress and makes it repayable, unlike other similar games. Well done!

Really decent game. Nice art and cool music. Variable jump height would be nice, but in this game I didn't really find it as an issue

I really liked it! The music and atmosphere were great and I loved the feeling of exploration the level gives you. Really impressive for your first game, good job!

Art simple and efficace. Nice sound design.  I like it.

Gameplay is buttery smooth, quite simple and fun! Really enjoyed it! I also quite like how the game looks, the aesthetic is also really cool!

Great job!

I like the art and animations and also the changing of the level every time you die. The player controller is really smooth and easy to move.

Also, the instructions at the start it's a nice touch.

What I found difficult was the difficulty of the game, maybe to hard to complete the first level? I tried so many times to progress, and I know that when you die you jump higher, but at some point, the frustration was too much to handle forcing you to quit.

Developer(+1)

Actually, there is only one level. Im sorry for the difficulty, but me testing it over and over probabilly made me good at it :3 so i thought it was easy. Thx for your comment!

Is a good game, the concept of dying and respawning with more jump power is good, the music is greate

THis was a pretty great game. I thoight the concept of the level changing as you got more stressed was really creative. and the sound/music was pretty good. Only reall issue was that the jump animation was backwards when u went left but thats all really :)

If you could play my game too that would be cool ;)
