Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?

By far the best one I've played in the jam. A perfect little experience will all kinds of uniqueness one can hope to see in a jam. Astonishing work. Well done. An easy all 5 star from me.

The way buttons worked made me gasp with excitement at the cleverness of the whole thing.

This was such a fun and original game. Great job with this game in the constraints of the jam. Keep up the fantastic work!

So far the best game of the jam for us.
- Funny, original dialogues combined with a great story concept.
- Awesome pixel art assets and animations.
- Really great connection to the character with all sorts of emotions. We really have been friends on the end of the journey. We would have liked to keep playing. Hope everythings fine in the village. ;)

Only thing that was annoying was the "wobble" screen distortion effect while pushing the mouse button. We get the intention behind the idea but we got a little bit seasick in fullscreen mode after a while haha. If you keep working on this game please reduce the effect or add an option to do so.

Anyway, awesome project! *****

All the best from the Wilma & Buddy Team

Thanks a lot for the feedback. 😄

For the wobble effect we understand that sometimes can be a bit overwhelming (especially in situations where the mouse press is a bit longer).

We will see if is possible to find a solution for sure later.

Let me start with all of the good because there's a lot of it. This is obviously a well polished game with a very creative use of the theme. The graphics are beautiful and the aesthetics all sell them idea that you are lost in the forest. The  commentary helps form a relationship and giving me the option to choose how some of the commentary went was that "frosting on the cake" to really sell this experience. As I am sure others have mentioned, definitely felt like I was in the Kokiri Village or the lost woods with the music and the mood. The subtle shimmer when you click, the light piercing through the foliage, the particle effects when you move, and all the emotes just made the whole experience so much enjoyable. Really great job!

I'm legit surprised that not many more have played this game because I feel that this should be like in the hundreds by now. :)

Now that the praise is over, I only have "nitpicks" because the game is so well done. A few things that I think would help make the experience a bit better, for me at least:

  1. When you click on something you can interact with, it be nice to lock the cursor in place so that it does not stop clicking when the camera shift. I found myself a bit annoyed that I was clicking a button only to see the pillars move back up as I tried moving the character there. I had a feeling that my cursor would just remain in place as long as I held the LMB
  2. Pushing rocks gets tedious after a while so adding more interactions would be nice (I get it, this is a jam and focusing on the two mechanics was the right call. This is more for "post jam") Maybe like a "pull a lever back"
  3. I noticed that if you rub against a wall, though you are not moving into it, the "bonk" sound effects plays which is silly :D
