This was a lot of fun and I really liked your take on theme! The game was really unique compared to others I have played and I had a lot of fun enjoying your game. Great job!

My feedback is already somewhere down there, but there is gameplay if you wanna see it:

I’m sorry that you had a bad experience with my game, I’m actively continuing to work on the game, obviously and unfortunately there’s not much I can do with the jam build. I will be removing the WebGL version, however I found that games that do not include a webGL build generally perform worse in terms of views. But I suppose rather counter-intuitively that made the game worse.

I’m hoping that all the constructive criticism I’ve been receiving will help me make the game better, I feel like I can do better with more time, and I wouldn’t be able to improve without people pointing out the issues, so thank you :) Once again though, I apologise for the negative experience.

Sure, cheer up, I think you can do a lot with Cubie!

Like a Top Down Minecraft

Personally im not into Block Games.

But this is a really cool Idea and a incredible Work for 7 Days.

I felt the Movement a bit Sloppy, also Switching between the different Modes doesn't feel like you getting a lot of work Done.

The Theme, Unite the People and be Stronger Together, mhh im not sure if those United People made me Stronger, but okay, the Theme is always a Interpretation of the Developer.

Good Work, nice Graphics and cool World.

btw when i saw the Loading Screen i was thinking you are Kidding me, especially with the Duration...... but Yeah the Scene has a lot of to Offer that needs to be loaded.

Don't forget to have a Look on Our Game:

I love this concept and great execution for being done within a week! well done!

Please could you let me know good or bad feedback on mine? :D

great concept! I encountered an issue where the frame rate was really slow when moving a character?

Developer

hmm, not sure what would’ve caused that, were you moving the camera frequently while moving the characters? Perhaps chunks were being loaded in, and causing lag.

Either way, sorry about that!

Rated, Great Job :D

Good job! Tutorial needs some more attention.

It's clear that a lot of love and work went into this game. Sadly, it's just too buggy to engage with.

Like I said in a reply to another comment, the game has potential but it was a overscoped. I think you should´ve focused more on one part of the game so that you can deliver a nice little demo that feels good. Game has a lot of potential and I think if you keep working on it it will become great! :)

Submitted

I see so much work done here, but the game is massive overscope. It runs badly in Chrome, crashed on me few times in Edge, so maybe I would vote not to include browser build at all. I didn't finish the tutorial. I just wasn't able to, the UI got stuck. So I'm not sure if there is another goal besides capturing more lonely islanders? Also, camera rotation is very very slow.

Submitted

I second this. The game has potential and the concept is good but it was a massive overscope and for what I´ve played, it just doesn ´t feel fun. It also runs really bad on Firefox, which is a shame.

Submitted

Wow, this was ambitious for a game jam, you clearly put a ton of work into this.  I also had a tough time with the tutorial.  I agree with Miammiam that more focus would have helped I think (as if I'm one to talk!)

Developer

Yeah unfortunately I didn’t have much time to make the tutorial clear enough, which is my bad, I might make a clearer text-based tutorial in the description of the game that may be more clear. Thanks for your feedback!

I followed the tutorial and couldn't place the anvil and when I tried to play the game normally it crashed. Maybe focusing just on one thing (e.g. player movement) would have given you more time to polish the game.

Developer

hmm interesting, I’ll have to look into the game crashing bug, the anvil not placing thing might have come about because you weren’t in build mode, or maybe your inventory was open? Otherwise I’m unsure.

If you played the game in the browser, while loading it may say that the page has stopped responding, if you keep clicking wait it will eventually load. Otherwise if you played on the executable, I hadn’t encountered any crashing, sorry you ran into that!

Submitted

I played using the exe and I tried placing the anvil with my inventory open as I thought it wouldn't matter as long as I was in build mode. By the way I don't know if this also a bug but the camera moves very slowly. But hey well done for participating in the game jam, it's still a pretty fun game.

Developer (1 edit)

Huh, that’s very interesting, I’m very sorry you encountered that bug. And yeah sorry I should have made that more clear in the tutorial, which is my bad. I decided to try my best to clear up some ambiguities in the game’s description. Thank you for your feedback!

Edit: The slow camera movement has made me think, what kind of hardware are you playing on? I’m worried that maybe the game is running slow, and I forgot to multiply the camera movement by deltaTime, hence resulting in a slow camera. If it slow hardware that could also explain the crash.

Nope my pc is pretty good, I was running the game at 144 fps.
