The fact that your only option of movement is also the only option to get rid of the enemies makes for a very interesting bullet hell experience. The overall concept is pretty smart and it forces the player to make quick decisions.

The background could use a bit of work since at first I thought I could interact with the stars and the planets, but it was still pretty fun. Would definitely play this once it's more polished. 8 / 1

Design

  • Clean and Simple
  • Easy concept of bullet hell
  • Easy to pick up and play immediately
  • Lack of instructions/tutorial
  • Lack of incoming indicators
  • Cluttered playing field in contrast to background

Art

  • Clean and simple
  • Nothing over-contrasting/easy on the eyes
  • Lack of details to differentiate objects that can be destroyed/have to be dodged

Programming

  • Inputs for movement smooth
  • Pick-ups are clean
  • Bugged buttons/healthbar

For a game that was created with original art assets within 48 hours, its honestly a great attempt. Other than the bugs here and there, gameplay was interesting unlike alot of other bullet hell games, refreshing. Would look forward to playing more after its refined.

I just rated your great game! Thank you very much for watching the stream!
I would appreciate it if you could check out my game too!

Very interesting gameplay for how simplistic it is. The shooting mechanic being a limited resource (time gated) and being used both for your own movement as well as dealing with enemies makes for some interesting decisions about how to use it. I could see some potential for pretty difficult levels requiring some quick decision making, which is impressive given you only issue one input per couple seconds. The gameplay even makes sense in the flavor of the game!

Great execution on the idea too, especially given a fairly short window, the art feels cohesive and charming. Everything feels fluid, and the music fits in.

Agreed with other comments on a tutorial of some point, it could be very brief but just show the player they're intended to move their character by blasting. Also one nitpicky thing, it wasn't clear to me if the orbiting planets/moons/whatever damage the player or not, there might be something visually to improve that.

Interesting movement mechanic!

I should point out that the contrast of the stars against the background made me initially think that they were collectible items XD.

A very charming experience.

The game was honestly really fun to play, though I felt it would be better if there was some cooldown indicator every time I fire as I had no clue when it is ready to fire again.

It was fun to play. Knocking the astronaut around and gunning down asteroids is satisfying. But I wish there was more purpose to destroying asteroids besides preserving HP and creating space. I was expecting power-ups to spawn from breaking them at first.

Also, the power-ups that do spawn stick to the right side of the screen where the obstacles and enemies spawn. It was pretty stress-inducing to collect power-ups because there was a risk of hitting something I couldn't see. I had to rely on luck each time I went in for a heal.

The game looks nice. I just like cartoony visuals.

Overall, it was a fun, short game that kept me on my toes.

Considering you guys had only 24hrs code something together, I'm really impressed with the interesting take on it. Tho, I'd appreciate it if you guys could get in a small instruction tab just before the game start! :3

That being said, 24 hours to make this?! Really really impressive! 9/10

Haha, it was actually 48 hours, in the game jam! Thank you for the feedback, we definitely plan to add that once the jam is over!

There he is. There he goes again. The creator made me use my big brain to calculate the distance to blast my character so i fly at the correct velocity and not propel mindlessly into random space rocks. 10/10 wouldnt mind more big brain mechanics

Lovely game! I enjoyed it. Fitting music and nice snazzy visuals. RT LykaLyka on the tutorials, didn't realise I had to shoot myself to move. Otherwise, good job :)) Look forward to more!

Howdy! \o

Nice game.

The core mechanic is simple, yet very satisfying. It's like a small bullet hell!

I like how the player leaves the white trail when they fly around.

The assets are very clean. The font is nice.  The enemies are funny looking (in a good way)

Good job!

It would help a lot if you would rate my game as well! Thank you \(^-^)/

Pretty decent. Would've appreciated some quick tutorials on the UI. Some of the background objects stood out too much to the point where I thought they were powerups or obstacles on the game.

Thanks for your feedback! We definitely plan to add a quick tutorial/overview of the controls when we update this game after the jam!

First impression was to use WASD to move, however once I learned how to play it was easy and fun to pick up. The music is super catchy. It would be nice to be able to hold the mouse button to auto shoot instead of always clicking. The overall aesthetic was very clean, polished, and vibrant. It's a simple game, but its complete so that's what makes it fun to play right away. It would also be awesome to see if the borders of the game could be removed and replaced with infinite scrolling so when your character goes to the top of the screen he would wrap back around and come up from the bottom, for example. Not sure if that would make the game too easy or too hard though, but would be fun.

Pretty cute game!

Fills every requirement and added to it, lovely game that I can enjoy and was made very cleanly.

This is super polished visually, and the music and sounds are a nice touch! If you really created all of the art and assets, good for you- this is my first five-star presentation rating. I have to say, it's a bit frustrating to play! My little guy was really dying a lot.

Overall, great job, and good luck!

One of the more complete games I've played, and it was pretty fun. Great work!
