Mouse capture would oddly lock the camera's pitch which made progression impossible.

Are you using linux by any chance? I've had that issue on itch for several mouse capturing games where my camera would fling upwards. Turned out to be something related to wayland so was curious if maybe you're in the same boat.

Yep! I'm running CachyOS with KDE Plasma as my DE.

This is the cutest game! Loved the characters and overall vibe!

Would be great to have more checkpoints, maybe that's a power for Swapee? Really great job on the character design! They're so cute and  I got so excited when I first reunited them, I had to take a group pic.

What I Loved:

- Enjoyed the game but couldn't finish it after trying for 1 hour & 15 minutes

- I really enjoyed the music.

- Love the game mechanics,  just wish there was a help screen it took me a while too long to figure out how to use the monkey.

- Loved the character switching mechanic and how seamless it was very cool!

- Love the variety of gameplay mechanics

- To make this type of game within the Jam time is amazing.

- Loved the pixel art of the characters and the 3D models

Some things that need improvement:

- I didn't know where my goal was so all I was doing was moving characters everywhere without a known place to try to reach.

- Wish death didn't reset the whole game

- Didn't find the double jump on the monkey after trying to figure it out for 25 minutes  (In the monkey tutorial room I went up the ledge with the left and right mesh sticking out and never needed to double jump in there) (I also used the left mesh to skips the spike jumping puzzle after the monkey tutorial room and never needed to double jump)

- I did have a glitch at about 40 minutes of the game open that I think didn't let me progress. One of the switch powers disappeared without me using it. (The one behind the green door)

I would like to restate I loved the game very much.

Good Game!

I am genuinely ecstatic that you played that long and also so very terribly sorry! I had no time for much testing and direction (cramming certain specifics in my long game description doesn't help either. I did add a patch for spawn points after each of their 'tutorial' areas they start in, so even if one creature dies, any creature who made it out of their spawn area and into the main room now spawn back there. I could probably add checkpoints after each lever gets pressed but I don't know if I'll have time or energy for that. We'll see.

But thank you for all of the feedback I appreciate it. Lack of player direction and checkpoints seems to be the major pain points here so will take these into consideration.

i haven't completely played the game yet, but it's really cute and charming. however, the fact that you have to do the ENTIRE game again if you make one single mistake is really punishing, and it kinda discouraged me from playing the game further. cool concept and characters, tho

Thanks for the feedback! My partner said the same thing after 2 minutes lol, so I did add a patch with individual checkpoints after their 'tutorial' zones. I also tried to lower the hitbox on the spikes as they seemed quite punishing for no reason.

Hopefully the next person to try doesn't have to flip any tables thanks to your heads up :P

Love the idea, and how it looks but idk if its my computer or that i playied it in browser but it lagged alot and the music was glitching out. Besides that its a great game, hope you can get that fixed.

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that, I do recall it being laggy earlier on saturday. I spent most of that day actually trying to optimize it as I had some ideas where the problem was. Worst case unless you are on a mac, I added window and linux downloads but I understand that those aren't ideal for the jam.

If my energy and will to continue fixing this game comes up, I'll start there. Thanks for the heads up!

Neat game, I got a little frustrated though with having to start over immediately every time I hit the spikes on one character once I got everyone else where I wanted them.  Maybe a lives or health system would be better?  Either way, I like the mechanics of it.  Reminds me of The Lost Vikings a little bit.

Thanks for playing! I heard everyone's feedback, and am sorry it got frustrating. It was meant to be chill and 'mysterious' so I wanted to try and get more in that ball park. I did add a patch after permission to add checkpoints for each creature that once they hit their own checkpoint, they no longer have to redo their 'tutorial' areas (the monkeys spawn is now past the spike hallway so players don't have to do that again).

Thanks again for trying it out, I appreciate it
