I really like the way the sprites flip even when they're turning around, it looks slick. I like the 2.5d look of the game but it made it kinda hard to aim at enemy's because of the perspective. I think the "camera" could be slightly more top down and it would be easier to shoot, like maybe 2.3d

I had to come back and stop myself from playing to rate this. Really well done game! I agree with the other comment that this should have its own visual style, it's a unique take and really did well with the Jam's theme. I like the juice you put in the game too, the sounds and the card animations are well done.
I think this is my favorite game in this jam I've played so far, super well polished! It took a second to get used to the controls, but when I did I got so sucked in. It doesn't feel intuitive at first, so a guided tutorial showing an example turn would've be helpful. I couldn't beat the boss, but I had fun reaching there and mainly used the spear weapon the whole time. I think you should keep working on this one.
https://itch.io/jam/theveryseriousjuniperdevgamejam/rate/4698558 I'll try to rate the others here too in a little bit.
The concept is really creative and I loved being able to pull out anything even the tutorial pieces. It felt satisfying to figure out the twist in level 1 (after tutorial). I do think that being able to manipulate items in every direction is a bit hard to control and place. Maybe it would be better if you could lock to 3 potential orientations per item and hold a button to free spin around instead.
I like the art too and I'd agree with the people have pointed out the character controller.
I got confused on how to proceed in level 1 with the 3 floating people. I think that part might need a simpler puzzle to build up to understanding it (or I might be a dum dum). The tutorial worked up nicely and was very easy to understand, after getting a hang of the jump timing!
Wow, I'm glad I came back to check this one out. Great art and great job with level design! At level 3 I was like hmm I wonder if they thought about this one thing happening and if it would be buggy, and in level 4 that came up as an intended obstacle of the puzzle! Idk if you designed with that player experience in mind, but it felt great.
Love the design, this game looks fantastic! The puzzles ramped up in difficulty quickly, but I was hooked. I had to stop because I wasn't smart enough to keep going but I'll come back after a break!
I didn't understand as much when there were two of ruff, how the movement was supposed to work. Maybe there's an opportunity to ease that mechanic in somehow?
Great work on the apartment! The shading, the filter, and the lighting look great and I would totally play a spooky game in that setting. The dream gameplay was cute too. When you get more time, you could definitely extend this into a horror game and keep the dream as a palette cleanser.
Thanks for uploading a linux build! I was able to download it from the itch app, but it looks like the linux build is missing the pck file? I was able to grab it from the windows download and bring it over though.
