I really like the way the sprites flip even when they're turning around, it looks slick. I like the 2.5d look of the game but it made it kinda hard to aim at enemy's because of the perspective. I think the "camera" could be slightly more top down and it would be easier to shoot, like maybe 2.3d

Fantastic sound effects and juice in this game. I had a lot of fun with this one, it scaled well and kept me hooked. I wish there was a meter showing me how fast my ram was coming off cooldown, rather than (I think) the bouncing triangle being the only indication.

Great job with the visuals in this game, I like how round the UI feels and the bright neonness of it all.

The audio in this game was amazing and the cutscenes animating/bobbing was perfect. You did a great job immersing in the game show vibe.

I had to come back and stop myself from playing to rate this. Really well done game! I agree with the other comment that this should have its own visual style, it's a unique take and really did well with the Jam's theme. I like the juice you put in the game too, the sounds and the card animations are well done.

I think this is my favorite game in this jam I've played so far, super well polished! It took a second to get used to the controls, but when I did I got so sucked in. It doesn't feel intuitive at first, so a guided tutorial showing an example turn would've be helpful. I couldn't beat the boss, but I had fun reaching there and mainly used the spear weapon the whole time. I think you should keep working on this one.

I like the visuals, both the cover art and the purple folks.  The eyeball guys shocked me, in a good way, fun variety of enemies and effects. It would be cool to have more effects that shoot out while you're spinning.

https://itch.io/jam/theveryseriousjuniperdevgamejam/rate/4698558 I'll try to rate the others here too in a little bit.

The art was awesome and I loved seeing how far you could send that thing. It would be nice to see how much spinach and banana I own while I'm in the shop, because I forgot as I was spamming.

Love the premise, I wish I could help trevor more, but most of what I parry goes into red lolol. Maybe there should be a way to make the odds better for you? Like if you parry something, it shakes up the odds already on the wheel?

Love the artstyle in this game a lot! The game is too hard for me to get too far though.

Super awesome art in this game! I would've loved the option to fullscreen this on web, could help with the readability on some  things.

Love the cover art, and the scroll wheel mechanic is really satisfying.

Such a cute game, visuals and gameplay feel very polished! I want to play more levels of this and see more items in this art style.

The concept is really creative and I loved being able to pull out anything even the tutorial pieces. It felt satisfying to figure out the twist in level 1 (after tutorial). I do think that being able to manipulate items in every direction is a bit hard to control and place. Maybe it would be better if you could lock to 3 potential orientations per item and hold a button to free spin around instead.

I like the art too and I'd agree with the people have pointed out the character controller.
I got confused on how to proceed in level 1 with the 3 floating people. I think that part might need a simpler puzzle to build up to understanding it (or I might be a dum dum). The tutorial worked up nicely and was very easy to understand, after getting a hang of the jump timing!

Ah good catch! I had a typo that broke those scenes. The afk bug has been fixed too.
If you have a chance please try again. you can continue back from any level in the Scenes menu.

Wow, I'm glad I came back to check this one out. Great art and great job with level design! At level 3 I was like hmm I wonder if they thought about this one thing happening and if it would be buggy, and in level 4 that came up as an intended obstacle of the puzzle! Idk if you designed with that player experience in mind, but it felt great.

Incredible music/audio. I got quickly hooked and into moving around and shooting especially with that music. The gun seems to slide away from where I expect sometimes, so that could use some tightening up. The music vibes almost make me want to slide around, that could be cool to add.

Love the design, this game looks fantastic! The puzzles ramped up in difficulty quickly, but I was hooked. I had to stop because I wasn't smart enough to keep going but I'll come back after a break!

I didn't understand as much when there were two of ruff, how the movement was supposed to work. Maybe there's an opportunity to ease that mechanic in somehow?

HAHA omg I knew it was coming but you still got me. You did a good job making this scary! Idk if intentional but when hugging the right wall the lamp kind of gets covered. Honestly it made it kinda fun because I couldn't hug the wall, or it'd get dark and more scary.

Great job on the style of this musical toy! I love the design of the critters, the slow leaves and wind are so soothing. If you do incorporate more critters/discovery it would be cool to have a minigame where you try to recreate a combo of sounds with animals planted in the scene somewhere.

Great name and good work incorporating the frog theme, I like the sounds and the the frog guys' attack animations are so funny. I think splitting up the tutorial would be good to minimize all the reading at the beginning,

Very cute game! It took me a second to figure out how to get to the last one, but it was a satisfying set of platform puzzles to get there.

Was it evil to bring the totem to the home base, yes, but I had to try it and see what happened hahaha.

Great work on the apartment! The shading, the filter, and the lighting look great and I would totally play a spooky game in that setting. The dream gameplay was cute too. When you get more time, you could definitely extend this into a horror game and keep the dream as a palette cleanser.

Thanks for uploading a linux build! I was able to download it from the itch app, but it looks like the linux build is missing the pck file? I was able to grab it from the windows download and bring it over though.

Great intro and fun gameplay. The fish tank to view your party is a delightful touch and really well done! Would be cool to be able to feed the fish there.

Omg, great feedback, thank you! I got tooo excited after learning how to do it and put it on everything in this game 😭. After the rating period I'll put that toggle in, and I'll keep this in mind for all my games in the future 🫡

Such a cute game. I love all the models, but ESPECIALLY the crab guy. I appreciated the brief break built into zen mode, it felt nice to catch a breath.

Would be great to have more checkpoints, maybe that's a power for Swapee? Really great job on the character design! They're so cute and  I got so excited when I first reunited them, I had to take a group pic.

Well done with the spooky vibe, my heart was racing when they were chasing. A stealth roguelike like this has a lot of potential.

One of those games I couldn't stop smiling while playing, really great work with the style, and backstory!

The menu art is fantastic. I like the look of the game, and it was so satisfying when I got a combo of slaps as the big catcher guy.

I love the feeling of this game, the sounds and effects feel punchy,  and the music is SO GOOD. A glow shader under the animals while hovering them in battle would be nice.

I played this for so long. Really fun!

Love the art style and sounds in this game!

Fun game! Would love to maybe control two ghosts at once with wasd too.

Love the name and the game.

Loved messing around in this game, really fun!

A nice sweet and satisfying game. Love that you added the poet character in particular!
