Ya that last jump wasn't too difficult for me but after play testing with friends I realized I should of added a respawn point to the last jump or make it easier.

Thanks for playing!

Never encountered that bug during play testing thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for checking it out!

Retry:

Your explanation of the bad luck mechanic was enough for me to fill up the void meter once and I was able to get to the second phase on my first try!

Holy moly there is a laser! And giant harmful voids!

I FINISHED THE GAME! and destroyed the stupid town lol.

Made me wish that the attack the void button and dash is different because when I am so close I accidentally waste precious void on a dash when I thought I had enough.

Your suggestion of how the bad luck mechanic works does make the game a lot easier maybe a tutorial on that mechanic somehow.

Bug Context:

The void orb thing tutorial only happened on my first playthrough once, so I cannot recreate it so it probably not a major bug and a rare thing.

The walking on water bug was something I noticed in main game. But it is very minor so I wouldn't worry about it.

When I was using the bad luck mechanic even though I swear I was still walking I would die sometimes.

Very ambitious to create a multiplayer game, sadly I have no one who would play this type of game to try it out with,

Wish there was a single player mode that lets me just try the characters vs simple enemies and see how the game feels.

What I Loved:

The simple design and it putting you straight into the thick of it was a really good choice made you get what the game was going for fast and made me get into the zone of very quick.

The artstyle was very simple but I think it didn't need to be anything more.

The music was groovy, I played long enough that the music stopped, lol.

I am very glad you added a pause because I was at 600,000 highscore and had to leave my desk for 5 minutes and didn't want to lose my streak, thank you!

What needs Improvement:

I wish there was more to the game maybe like upgrade you can pick up that give you 3 choices of what to get like a rouge-like, or even something simpler like a powerup that changes your ship into fast one with more control but it takes 3 shots to kill or something slower but you shoot wider bullets that can pass through 2 or 3 enemies

This was a very good arcade shooter! Good Game!

Highscore: 814,000

For the 2D section it was more a last minute thing addition as I couldn't finished what I planned and wanted to give the player at least an end screen to know they finished. (The sprite animation/placement was rough around the edges)

After some play testing I found I should of put a respawn point at the last jump as everyone IRL I gave the game to felt a little frustrated at that part (maybe thats a good thing, like overcoming a challenge, idk, hard to say)

Personally I found that if I kept it WASD in the 2D section I wouldn't have to tell the player to press a new button they never pressed before in the 3D section which is why I kept jump as W

Thanks for trying it out! and thanks for the 3D section praise!

What I loved:

The the hand drawn art style to the game and the simple colors does make it feel very relaxed. Also the face of the faeries when carrying stuff was funny.

Love the no time limit lets you take your time to figure things out and relax to the music.

The pixies never sleep gotta get the tea out 24/7 lol

Enjoyed the gameplay. Felt like it needed an end goal though.

What need Improvement:

Wish there was an end goal like get this much money to win the game or serve this many customer. I did reach a point where I was relaxed and chill but had no drive to continue as I upgraded the faeries to a high degree but had no need to hire more than the default.

I did have some trouble understanding how the water worked. I found the way to make it work is to click the cup multiple times until the kettle is filled with water to fill the cup.

There were multiple time when the pixies were carrying something and I click on the black orb to combine them but the pixies would just drop the thing they were carrying and go pick up the thing I wanted to combine with instead.

If I try to make multiple teas at the same time when they are in the serve screen I don't know which one was which because they look the same and spawned on top of each other. It does force you to serve one at a time.

Nice Game!

What I loved:

Love the art style. The way all the sprites are super well made and how all the colors are vibrant. Also the detail in all the backgrounds

I was head bobbing to the NES music, very groovy music.

The attention to detail in the player animation of the little hop when going sideways really does add to it.

What Needs Improvement:

Never really understood how on the street I would sometimes get run over and other times I would get void out cars even after multiple experimentation runs.

Game felt super chaotic at first. Even after my first 20 try's still felt pretty chaotic. Still enjoyed the game and had a fun time.

After playing for over an hour I am confident I am not skilled enough to fill my void meter 3 times to win the game. I couldn't even do it once :(

Good Game!

Bugs:

In the dash tutorial no void orbs spawned in that section which confused me on my first run just restarted the game to try again because I thought I missed some text.

If you hug the top of the screen you can glitch the river section into not killing you and just walk on water. (not all the time though?)

If you stay still at the beginning of the main game after a retry and don't move forward you can get behind the void kill plane and not play and the camera keeps scrolling up. If you do move after the respawn it does game over. (Nice way to look at the art though)

Really loved the game.

I felt level 4 to be the hardest level out of all of them.

The music was a nice vibe.

The mix between 3D models and 2D was a look I haven't really seen before, also all the background were dynamic and moving with things happening in them which is awesome. Really like the backgrounds art style!

Game felt well balance could of played 10 levels.

Short and Sweet, Good Game!

Tried Zen Mode a few times and got 240 meters

I am glad that the horror vibe in the 3D came through, I was worried it wouldn't feel that way. Hopefully I can flush it out on a later date and add some jump scares ;)

Thanks for Playing!

I wish that death would just give a choice of restarting everything or going back to the last decision.

Love the writing it really describes the scenarios quickly and just enough to let my imagination run wild.

First ending I got is the Real World Ending
Second Ending I got is the Survivor Ending

- After seeing the text multiple times I wished I could click to speed up the text speed.

Third Ending I got is The Poolrooms Ending

- When Going for the next 3 ending I really wished for a going back to last choice mechanic as it was very cumbersome to figure out where all the deaths are.

Fourth Ending: MEG Ending
Fifth Ending I got The Real World???

Looking for the sixth ending took forever... Getting into that idiot house took a while to find I kept hitting new death points.

Sixth Ending I got The Insanity Ending

Some Writing Problems:

-When walking down the infinite hallway and you keep going till death there is a line that says:

"I have to hand it to you, player.

You're determined."

That took me out of the experience

- Maybe a line like: "You are determined to keep going" would of fit better.

- There was also a choice that said explore the level instead of explore the hill or area. (in the dollhouse hill area)

Bugs:

- The picture when you are in front of the tunnel is broken

Took about 1hr and 30 minutes to find every ending really enjoyed my time with it. After reading the same text over and over I just started going on YouTube waiting till I got to a choice I know I didn't pick. (this is only a problem if you go for all endings)

Was the game done in 1 day or did you spend a total of 24 hours on it? (If one day I would say very good job)

Nice Game!

Really good game with a good horror vibe. Bessie is huge!

Was able to collect all of them without getting caught but I got curious what getting caught is like so I intentionally got hit and was not disappointed.

Didn't have music or much sound effects but with the vibe you were going for it didn't feel like it needed it.

Love the pixel art and the design of the gnome and Bessie. Wish I could see the take on the pixel art village.

Good Game!

Really like the game.

I was confused for quiet a bit after following the footprints as the trash felt out of place and not intractable but I figured it out.

The music was nice and chill.

That rotary magic was hilarious!

I like the little attempted scare with the lights and the door.

Wish the art style was more cohesive but the game looked good.

Good Job! Nice Game!

Very ambitious type of game for a Jam.

What I Loved:

Like the mechanic of adding cats to upgrade the speed of the buldings

Like the music was very chill

Love the little cat sprites and their animations

What needs Improvement:

Not knowing that stone is in the top left and ore is in the bottom left put me in a bad spot at on my first play through and I had to restart as I was soft locked.

Needed a bit more guidance on how to play as I got defeat the first time even though I felt like I did everything right and had a army strength of 8 vs the enemies 4

After my fourth defeat is where I started to understand the game well enough to play

I notice the every time I place the training ground no matter what it would say I have unassigned villagers so I couldn't build up any soldiers at all... I restarted the game multiple times to try to fix this issue. Always am getting a game over in the first fight.

I found some pretty big fundamental issues:

On my fifth run I was somehow able to get one solider and win the fight 1 (the training grounds still kept on saying no unassigned villagers even though I have 14 unassigned) after the victory I lost the soldier and had to hope to get another one for fight 2

Continuing the fifth run the war time was nearing and I was desperate to get even 1 solider assigned so I starting placing multiple training ground in hopes one of them would glitch me one to win fight 2.

I tried to place training grounds all over the map thinking it was a placement glitch but even at 151 active workers and 229 total villagers (78 unassigned villagers)  and 8 Training grounds I was unable to glitch one into my army and lost.

Needs Work but I see what you were going for.

Loved the game.

The music was great

The art style was really pleasing and fun

The game mechanic of hamsters going into tubes to their other home is a good take of theme

The difficulty seemed to spike at random intervals I found all level easy except for level 3 and level 8

Wish there was a reset button to reset the tubes and try again (specifically for level 8)

Good Game!

Finished all the levels.

(1 edit)

Really nice game loop, I didn't really starting duplicates until level 24.

The game feels well polished and the music is a jam.

Love the creature and art design

The difficulty curve feels really good

I wish is would simply highlight instead of zooming in really fast to the creature you missed so I could know where the creature was.

The later levels I was just zooming around so quick looking for those specific features like one eyed or smiling

Good Game! Really fun!

Highscore: Level 26

Trying to make 3D look nice took a lot more work and time than initially planned, as I have never done it before. Thanks for the praise!

I will take the suggestion on how to structure the horror vs dream I will keep it in mind if I ever try to expand this prototype.

Really thank you for bringing the build issue to my attention, I didn't have much time to test both build before the upload deadline so I just tested on both OS's with all the Windows and Linux files mixed together, whoops.

Thanks for trying it out!

I see the potential of the game but overall I feel its just okay.

Loved the Music

The background being static was really confused me when I was pressing WASD I thought I wasn't moving but glitching out, until I used the other tardigrades as a reference point for my movement instead of the background.

Each tardigrade taking 5 hits feels unfair to the player when they only have 3 hits.

The bite mechanic feels broken as it doesn't really stop the other tardigrades from going towards you that well

The enemies path finding towards the player feels very simple.

The player has to engage with the enemy to gain points while they just sit around and wait for the player to get close to then attack. That feels weird for the vibe you tried to establish with the description asking to survive but surviving is very easy.

I don't really feel any agency to increase my score when I can just wait till so many enemies spawn that they just come at me in a straight line.

I see no point in a lunge attack at the moment.

I survived for so long and couldn't kill enemies fast enough that it started lagging

Played it 3 times!

Survived: 345 seconds

Enemies Killed: 42

Again I see what you were going for just needs more work. Hope to see it improved!

- sadly cannot play the game through the windows exe as it give an error that says:

Application folder:
C:/Users/MrCook/Downloads/Wind_Bird/Wind_Bird
There should be 'lasers_Data'
folder next to the executable

- also I see you are trying to get a web version working to do that:

1. Dashboard click edit under your game

2. In kind of project switch it to HTML

3. Under Upload in the same screen click this file will be played in the browser

Hopefully you can figure it out

The ant model being patchy and node a solid mesh was really off putting to me.

I don't understand if it is a game or just a demo for a piece of tech made? I find the ant and nothing happens, twice. Did I miss something?

In the white boxed level it is very easy to get out of bounds.

The windows provided in the browser is too small you HAVE to full screen to even play

Really felt like a well put together arcade game.

What I Loved:

- I loved all the sound effects really made the game feel awesome.

- The mechanic of switch between the bug and the catcher works really well

- The catching mechanic was satisfying!~

- The art style is really cool! Love look of the entire game both the catcher view looked and the bugview.

- The music really fit the style

What Needs Improvement:

- Took a few seconds to figure out what was happening since I didn't read the controls lol.

- Wish for a legend or help menu for what color bug does what but was able to infer pretty quickly.

- I did encounter a bug on my third play through where bugs were not giving points until about 20 seconds passed

High Score: 120

(1 edit)

Enjoyed the game, very short. The rat got poisoned D:

- After getting the cheese by the cat the rest of the game was very easy.

- The art style seems a bit all over the place but it is readable.

- Wish the end screen was cooler

Nice Job!

What I Loved:

- The main game loop concept

- The art style

What need Improvement:

- The music doesn't loop so when its done its just quiet. Also wish there was more quacking or lake/marsh sounds

- When I took the bottle cap back the game crashes every time so unable to finish the game

Love the knocker bird sound it really adds to all the little monkeys sounds.

The art style really melds well with the vibe you were going for in my opinion.

Do the monkeys that fall off the tree if they go down? Is it forever or does it loop? I was going down to see if I could see a bottom and found no bottom.

Love all the creatures I saw, the monkeys, the the frogs, the birds. Nice integration of the theme.

Enjoyed the game hope to see it polished into a game with mechanics. Such as maybe being able to unlock sounds through getting coins that the little creatures pick up, something like that.

What I Loved:

- Really loved the artstyle

- Love the take on the theme, being a little creature collecting pollen for their family!

- Game mechanics took a while to figure out but once I got it I was collecting pollen like a pro.

What needs improvement:

- Highscore doesn't update after playing again it stayed on the old one

- The blue balls being completely random speeds seems to be pretty bad. In my second playthrough I had most of the blue balls be jitter and flying all over the screen which made it harder. Maybe having a set amount of fast balls and a set amount of slow balls would of been better.

- The buzzing sound got annoying really fast and had to play turn down my volume a lot on my second play through.

- I didn't look too hard but I think there was a difference in points depending on which flower you got, or maybe it was random was really hard to tell. Maybe a number pop up to tell you how many you got from a flower.

- A control issue I feel would feel better is have faster turning speed when slow but when you speed up you have the slow turning speed

Extra Notes:

- Played it 3 times!

- Highscore: 1089

Enjoyed this game very much, it felt complete. Would be cool to see expanded.

I had plans to do a horror element in the 3D world and have creatures sneak around but after looking at the amount of time left in the Jam and having very little free time, I wanted to create a end which is why it goes to 2D pixel art.

Thanks for checking it out!

What I Loved:

- Enjoyed the game but couldn't finish it after trying for 1 hour & 15 minutes

- I really enjoyed the music.

- Love the game mechanics,  just wish there was a help screen it took me a while too long to figure out how to use the monkey.

- Loved the character switching mechanic and how seamless it was very cool!

- Love the variety of gameplay mechanics

- To make this type of game within the Jam time is amazing.

- Loved the pixel art of the characters and the 3D models

Some things that need improvement:

- I didn't know where my goal was so all I was doing was moving characters everywhere without a known place to try to reach.

- Wish death didn't reset the whole game

- Didn't find the double jump on the monkey after trying to figure it out for 25 minutes  (In the monkey tutorial room I went up the ledge with the left and right mesh sticking out and never needed to double jump in there) (I also used the left mesh to skips the spike jumping puzzle after the monkey tutorial room and never needed to double jump)

- I did have a glitch at about 40 minutes of the game open that I think didn't let me progress. One of the switch powers disappeared without me using it. (The one behind the green door)

I would like to restate I loved the game very much.

Good Game!

Really Enjoyed the Boids taking up the my whole monitor as I have a widescreen monitor.

Wish there was more of a game element.

It is cool making the Boids fly in a certain direction and seeing how many go up vs down.

(1 edit)

Really enjoyed the game loop.

I like the art style. Love the happy to sad artwork on the smiles.

I am confused what the Jam VS Fruit (food) differences art but it didn't stop me from maxing everything out and enjoying the game.

How does the shovel work? I couldn't figure it out.

Wish there was sound effects when I clicked on the shines to seed because for quiet a bit I was confused what was happening and just kept on clicking

It took me after getting the fountain to realize that 3 fruit can change into Jam. (and by extension feeds more and maybe gives more shines hard to tell).

Wish there was more game. Good Game!

Ended the game with 422 Shines!

Congrats on fifth, hope to see it refined

Congrats on fourth place, hope to see the game expanded

Congrats on third, surprised its not first considering the high quality art

Congrats on second place, hope to see this expanded

Congrats on first place!

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Thanks, I hope to add 3 more maps in the post jam update

Thank you!

Thanks for checking it out!
