My score by puzzle 31/38: 0270

What I Loved

  • The way the text is displayed, animated, and sounds is awesome & satisfying
  • The flips mechanic is a interesting and creative way to implement the prompt
  • The coffee shop vibe of the audio really got chilled out
  • The gameplay loop

What I Wished

  • I wish up arrows key allowed me undo by a letter since I used the arrow keys and sometimes missed a letter by 1
  • Wish there was a hint button but it seems like that would be really hard to implement with this type of game (undo worked really well just something I thought of while playing)
  • Wish I was able to finish the game but I got stuck on puzzle 31 for over 2 hours w/ breaks and eventually gave up

What needs Work

  • I don't know how the dictionary was created but I found 1 word missing "SEEL" at puzzle 30

Overall had a good time thinking about words

Good Game!

Thanks for the in-depth feedback!

I appreciate the compliments on what you loved. I spent a long time crafting the feel of the split-flip modules and I'm glad it paid off! Good feedback on the up arrow being an undo. While not a full solve (ideally both up and cmd/ctrl z work), the undo keybind is remappable.

I also wanted a hint system. I even implemented a few, but none of them had the gameplay polish I felt was appropriate for the jam entry.  I didn't anticipate dictionaries being so difficult, but it turns out finding a good set of words that includes all the words you know while also not requiring archaic words to find a valid solution was not easy! I spent more time than I wanted on it, and if this becomes a full game, it definitely would need way more tuning.

You can also skip around and try the other levels and come back to level 31 later. I don't want to be spoiling the solution in the comments for the other players ;)

Thanks again for the play and the notes.
