Tiny Starcraft! Too short but very cute!

Submitted(+1)

Cute game! The concept is solid. The graphics and sound have a lot of charm!

Only one level is a bummer, but I can see the potential here. Looking forward to more levels in a post-jam version!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!! Definitely excited to get the post-jam version out haha. Thank you again!

Submitted(+1)

The game felt shortt. I wish there were more to do. Good game!

Developer

Thank you for playing what I've finished so far!! Please stay tuned and I should have a post-jam game soon!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game concept and good graphics!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! :)

The fun lies in the strategic interplay between increasing the efficiency of mining ore or increasing the number of combatants to make it easier to annihilate the enemy! I’ve even cleared Hero mode.

Developer(+1)

That's awesome, thank you so much for playing!!

Nice work on this one! RTS is unfortunately one of those genres with the most amount of work needed for an MVP, but this is great progress for a jam. Neat UI, camera system, and nice art style. I love using squish and stretch animations.

Developer

Thank you so much, haha. You're right, RTS took a lot more logic than I thought so it took a bit more time. Thank you so much for playing!!

Currently the gameplay is way to simple, but I can see the concept here, would like to see future development for the game. I do think the base button function could just merge to the base itself ( eg. when i click the base it shows what I can buy or level up ). Great attempt for the jam!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!! And that's a great idea with the base button functionality, thank you so much!!

Cool art. But the gameplay is too simple for this version. I think you could develop more strategy... We can imagine that the workers need to go in a dangerous zone to mine... Soldier robots should not overlap. The zoom/dezoom control could be more useful. Still, well done because there's a lot of work involved!

Developer(+1)

Dangerous zone to mine sounds awesome! I'm working on a post-jam version of the game and I'll definitely take your feedback into consideration. Thank you so much for playing!!

Very cute art. Shame to see it get cut short. Great potential for a deeper game. I would love to play more. Well done on submitting what you had. What was there worked well and looks finished so great effort.

Developer

Haha yes, I definitely wish I could've added more. Thank you so much the kind words and for playing!! :D

I liked the graphics, and you know, the level you finished to program was playable! Good job!

Developer

Haha, thank you so much!!

like the characters design :)

Developer

Thank you so much!!

I'm curious what you're imagining for later levels. The first level is a very good tutorial for how to build the two different types of units but it's a little unclear to me where the strategic depth would come later on? In any case a good start.

Developer

For sure, I had much more planned including more units and the ability to research to increase the efficiency of your units. Later you would be able to place buildings and expand around the map (there would be more crystal patches) to defeat surrounding enemy bases. You'd essentially start scrappy and then take over the map against the enemy.

There was also plans for hero-style units that would be tougher to beat but you would be able to create your own after some time.

Mission modes would include lasting for 1-2 minutes from the incoming waves, defeat all enemies on the map, and collecting certain resources around the map.

Most of the code was made modular (which took a lot of time) so I only had enough time for that one level. I do plan to expand on this with the above features so if that sounds interesting, please stay tuned!

Thank you so much for playing and thank you for your interest!!

sound fun! Good luck with the Jam.

Developer

You too, thank you!

Very nice concept but the balancing should be worked on. I can see it becoming a real nice base defend game. Love the sprites and music!

Developer

Haha yes, I will definitely add more unit types to balance things out. Thank you so much for playing!!

I finished LV 1 in 40sec and level HERO in 50sec. Only thing I did was:

1 ... get 10 workers

2 ... tank around 60 damage with base

3 ... spam big wave of units for counter

interesting concept but balance is weird: Am I supposed to finish so fast?

I give sound perfect score really loved it.

Developer

That's awesome, thank you so much for playing!! There were more levels planned so unfortunately it got cut short. I also reduced the difficulty for the first level so it's a bit on the easy side. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

The UI look great but  pretty short. Pls make more :))))

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! I will definitely make more so please stay tuned!

Submitted(+2)

It reminded me of when I first came across StarCraft. But it was too short, which was disappointing. I want to play this game more!

Developer

I'm a huge StarCraft fan so thank you for that comment! I do plan to make more, so please stay tuned. And thank you so much for playing! :D

Cool game, was surprised because it is pretty short. You got a nice material here (and spamming soldier can be too strong :D).

Developer(+1)

Haha yes, spamming soldiers is strong! I spent time on implementing other features (like researching) so unfortunately I didn't get as many levels in. Thank you so much for playing!!

I really enjoyed the game even though is short.

It took a while to understand how to defend my base from the enemies.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!! I wish I made better instructions but I'm glad you were able to understand!
