How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object?
It's set on a *farm* / ranch, involves shooting varmint crows, and the player refuses to get out of his rocking *chair*, so you have to scoot around instead of walking (which means you can't move and shoot at the same time, and movement is... erratic (by design)).

What tools and 3rd party assets did you use?
"Input Prompts" by Kenney (credited)
"Olde Timey" Kevin MacLeod (credited)
"Wagon Wheel" Kevin MacLeod (credited)

How did you use generative AI? (If you did)
I did not.

Where in hell did you find those old cowboys sound. I absolutely love it.

Thanks - a friend of mine has been bugging me to do voice work for a game. He’s pretty good huh!?

I can confidently say I've never played anything like this haha. Neat idea!

Cool game!

Was really fun and an interesting idea for the chair/special object!

Hi again, Glanten!)

I really liked your game. It would be cool to add a bird counter or set a goal for the player. “Kill as many as possible” is better than nothing, but still...

I really liked the sound in the game. It was a good decision to pick a random sound from a pool and play it. The music is a real strong point of this project)

The movement system is a bit clunky, but you get used to it quickly. It’s cool that the farmer can pick up speed.

Thanks for your hard work! Good luck with your next projects!

P.S. Why not put him in a wheelchair instead of just a rocking chair? It would be funnier and explain the unusual movement, in my opinion :3

Thanks for the feedback! A few people have said that a “birds blasted” counter would have been good, so I’ll bear that in mind for next time.

I wanted the movement to be “awkward” so it couldn’t be relied upon. Hopefully it was more of a “challenge” and less of an “annoyance” - maybe I could have polished it with more time.

That’s the same reason why I didn’t put the farmer in a wheelchair - I wanted him to have to grab his chair and jump around on it. You get a randomised impulse of movement (up + the desired direction) every time you hit the movement key. I thought a rocking chair had more of a classic “farmer” feel than someone using a wheelchair.

Originally I had the farmer able to rotate, he would tip over if the player was too quick, so I removed that feature instead of coding a fix for it (e.g. righting yourself) in such a short amount of time!

I think you did the right thing by removing the farmer's tipping mechanic. It would have made the controls too complicated, and I'd be spending more time worrying about how to control the old guy than having fun and hitting the crows :p

I think it's the right decision

The next projects are going to be even cooler! Let's go!

Amazing audio! I enjoyed the game a lot. My prayer of wanting to see how many crows I shot down I had in the middle of the game was answered at the end. +1

Thanks for the feedback - I’ll think more about UI in the future.

The audio was made a lot better when a friend of mine agreed to do the voices!
