Pretty good, for some reason movement worked better when running it from linux emulated.

Ah, what a shame. Maybe it is my machine, but this was not really playable, as moving forward was like doing 5 steps instead of 1. Graphic seem to be fine, wish there was a bit more in terms of sound. I have seen the fire, which you have to put out with a tool or something, so there seem to be some kine of puzzles, which is nice. Oh, there is no back button, only forward? And the fans of my system got pretty loud while playing the game. Maybe you let your game run without vsync and it runs with like 1000 frame per second and the forward movement is not bound to the frame delta?

I finally made it. Took45min, but then I had to bind some of mykeyboards macro buttons to movement, cause the high sensibility, even at 10ms they sometimes double-stepped. The game has a good base principle, but when it forces you to time stuff not to get caught, you almost always have to make the controls super easy to use and snappy. I liked that you used the elements of both water and fire to get past obstacles.

Game is hard to play in its current state, but it has great potential and I had fun playing it despite the control issues :)

I really liked the puzzle focus of the game! But it was really hard to finish due to repeated movement, which make me zoom past my target quite often, and quite often step on the red tiles.

Graphics are nice, nothing stands in a way too much, would love some audio in the game, menu music added tension and set the mood. But because you had the flashlight which limits the view it was really hard to register if you’ve moved to the corridor or not, as you cannot see the edges of it.

Third level was the hardest of them all due to movement, but I was able to finish the game.

Here’s my play-through:

I completed the game. I like the tension rising in the 4th level. Funny enough you can open the first door which directly leads to the exit and should be stuck in the second level so I restarted the game to beat this one the legit way as well.

As I don't like too dark looking crawlers and prefer fast-paced turn-based ones where I get to smash things I'm not really the target audience for this one but as I like puzzles I had some fun playing the game anyway, the sequences are different from each other and for a jam the levels are just big enough that they're satisfying to beat yet small enough that you get to beat those before being frustrated.

I wish pressing 'S' did something, either turning back or walking back would have been fine, I'm not sure I even have a strong preference.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for trying the game and for the feedback! I can't believe that I forgot to disable that door, lol.

Took me a minute to figure out how to play. You need to click on the items in the scene to collect them and have an element, then use them to remove or clear obstacles while avoiding the red hazard tiles so you don't get detected by the cameras. I like the popup text that gives clues in game, but it would be nice to have some kind of instructions (maybe on the start screen instead of the joke for the settings menu?)

I feel like this game could have been fun to play but the movement bug makes it very unstable. Sometimes you step forward 2 tiles (likely an accumulated move issue) so it makes it very hard to step back into the hallway or dodge out of the way of a red tile, making death almost certain. This takes the fun away by making gameplay frustrating for the user.

All in all, I'm impressed with what you managed to make in this short time frame and I expect bugs in a game jam entry. Good job submitting something (I see that 25 seconds before the deadline submission time)! Hopefully this feedback helps to make a better patched version!

Sorry about the buggy movement, hope it didn't completely ruin the experience! I've since figured out what I did wrong and have rewritten the movement to (hopefully) be less buggy, which I'll release as part of a more polished build of the game after the jam finishes.

I was not sure what to do! It seemed like the grid movement was a bit unreliable too (When I would try to move sometimes it would go really far other times really short). Hope this gets patched a bit!

Developer

Yeah, currently working on a polished patch that I'll release after the jam is done. Thanks for trying it anyway :)
