A much better sequel to wings of fear IMHO. The ww1 gfx work well in horizontal scrolling. Bring more 1918 original/weird tech parafernalia - that's my wish for the final version!

Forget P-47, this is much nicer!

Developer

Thank you for the nice comment. And I am very glad you think my game making is improving. That really means a lot. I do like the "crazyness" of the alien tech. And that a small WW1 plane can defeat everything πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But I totally understand that people find that weird and abit unappealing, but hopefully the "cutscences" will give it some sense. πŸ˜‚

This game is really a gem! Thanks for the great work!

Developer

That means the world to me. Thank you so much. Your support is super. Hope you had a great weekend. 😊😊

I really enjoyed the first Wings of Fear and I really love the sequel! The graphics, music and gameplay is very nice! Very nice to see such quality games being made on the Amiga. Well  done!

Developer

Thank you so much. Your support is always such a good motivation and you have so good reviews I really appricate that my friend! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

I liked that the game switched things up by adding an objective to the second level instead of it all just being "shoot enemies to prevent them taking you out and try to get to the end". A solid side-scrolling shooter, does exactly what it says on the tin!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much. And also so happy you have noticed that I really tried to "mix" things up. πŸ™And also abit envious that you actually made a whole game. And it is really a awesome game. Have not been able to play it much lately, but I certainly will! Best of luck. It is really not long before we are finish with this competion. Thank god! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

Great looking and great gameplay. Sounds great too! Pixel art and static screens are lovely.

Particularly like the explosions.  Hard to make these look good on retro platforms with no alpha.

Just wish there it was easy to make the screen wider and keep the parallax - I'm sure there must be ways...

All the more impressive for only being started in December, looking forward to more!

Developer

That really means alot. Thank you. For being my second game I am quite pleased. And yes, I totally agree.  It should have been abit wider and still keeping the parallax. But as of now I had to sacrifce the play area. Hopefully Earok will find a way to have wider screen and keep the parallax in Scorpion Engine. πŸ€žπŸ€ž If I had your coding skills it would certainly be alot easier to make it wider!πŸ˜‰

Your artwork is fantastic and love the horizontal aspect of the sequel here. Everyone loves an arcade shooter surely! With a few more levels  this would be a contender for sure. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much that really means alot coming from a great game designer as your self. Really appriacte that. I started in mid december so this was the best I could do for this competition. Now I am working on level 4. But I am taking my time. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

I really like this game. Please make more levels! The fullscreen artwork paintings looks amazing. No AI required when you have talent on your side. I really love how the shot planes crash to the ground. There is a real strategy to this game. I kept failing the mission because I wanted to use my bombs on other things than the tanks. Also that enemy homing missile technology is brutal. Well done on making a great looking and playing game!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much! That really means alot. Especially when it comes from an awesome game maker as you self. I have of course given you 5 stars. You definitely are one of the top contender of this game jam! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™πŸ™

Wonderful graphics, enjoyable gameplay, look forward to more!

Developer

Thank you so much! Really appricate that. πŸ™

Much better than the first installment. More fluid. However the Screen should be wider - it is to small (all Scorpion games suffer from it). The gameplays looks good and graphics and audio are really good. If it was finished before the deadline, I'd give it 5 stars. Looking forward to full version.

Thank you for the kind words and comment. I am very glad you think I am getting better at making games. It is only my second game so I am very humble and grateful that people like it. And yes, it should be abit wider, but I had to sacrifice it for the parallax. I had no chance of finishing the game for the competition. I started in mid december, so way too late am afraid.

Absoluetlydoodley effing fun game. Really enjoyed, no complaints bar the 2nd joystick button not working for me. I love shmups anyway, fave genre but this felt perfect for the style of shmup it is.

Great GFX, good music, EPIC SFX. Great gameplay, near perfect. 1 of only 3 5 star games in this jam. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much Hitch. I am very glad you liked it. And your comment really motivates, πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

The sequel to WoF immediately proves to be worthy of its predecessor and even improves the graphics !

Thank you so much! Really appricate your comment. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Very ambitious project! WoF 2 is developing straight forward to it's predecessor part 1. Great cooperation between the pixel artist Roar and Mixel's Lab which gives the whole game a good boost beeing more arcade. Looking forward to blast some big bosses!

Developer

Thank you so much Andreas! Really appricate you support and kind words. That means the world to me! πŸ™πŸ™

This is the first playable demo of Wings of Fear II. It contains 3 levels.

Its made using Scorpion Engine. I have done all the graphics, animations and game design myself using resprite, asprite and procreate for drawing the images.

I also have to mentioned my game was made in collabration with Mixel`s Lab. He has done most of the code.

Minimum requirements:

Chipset: AGA

CPU: 020

Fastram: 2MB (I do recommend 4MB)
