The Power of Pride Bundle Team appreciates your trust in us as Pride Month rolls ever closer. We tried to be as thorough as possible on the main jam page, but if you have a question that wasn't answered there, please feel free to ask here! Chances are that someone else may be wondering the same thing.

Alternatively, if you would like to ask a question privately, you can email us at powerofpridebundle@proton.me with a subject line starting with "[PoP2026 Question]". Thank you!

Hi, I was wondering how you judge financial need, since I didn't notice anything in the form, and it's not always obvious from social media etc. In my case I would want to get across that my financial need is relatively *low* as queer game devs go, the money would definitely be useful but my basic needs are all met.

HostSubmitted

Hi Spiral Atlas! This is BáiYù of tofurocks here. The last question in Section 02 is "Would you like to opt in to receive revenue from the bundle? If you opt out of receiving funds, you understand that you are waiving all financial compensation and this decision cannot be reversed." If you answered No to this question, then the form will not lead you to Section 03 which will ask "How do you intend to use funds raised from the bundle? Please write in as little or as much as you would like."

Reasonable answers to the Section 03 question are generally something like "Gas for my car is expensive where I live, so this will help me get to work," "I'll use it for groceries," or "I'd like to upgrade my drawing tablet." I hope this gives an idea of the types of answers we get and usually approve!

WAIT. I MISREAD OPT IN AS OPT OUT AND ACCIDENTALLY OPTED OUT. I AM A DUMBASS. Ok that is absolutely on me, I'll send an email to discuss it but I guess worst case I am helping other potentially poorer queer people make ends meet haaa. Good thing I asked, and thanks for getting back to me so quickly, or I'd have had an awkward surprise later on!

"For Zines, Tabletop Rulebooks, and other files delivered in .pdf format that are not considered Books/Novels, pages of the work must be customized to a certain degree (something like Arial text on plain white pages is considered not customized)."

1. Can I get some clarity on what the aim of this rule is?

2. How could someone who DID have a draft that was, to use your example, Arial text on plain white pages potentially alter it to be acceptable for submission?

HostSubmitted

Hey aliengeometries, this is BáiYù of tofurocks here.

  1. This rule is meant to encourage creators to customize their works to make it more appealing to potential customers. We've unfortunately both seen and received many comments on sites such as Reddit about how large scale bundles (both charity and mutual aid) on itchio are "full of shovelware," which we highly disagree with on principle alone. Our aim with this rule is to hopefully discourage such misconceptions because we know our participants put a lot of care and love into their projects.
  2. Customization does not necessarily have to be super extensive, especially since we know not everyone is a graphic designer. A change in font can do a lot to increase the polish of non-book PDFs, and embellishments such as borders can elevate the presentation. The following resources are fantasy-flavored so I'm not sure if it'll necessarily fit your projects, but I hope they provide some inspiration!
    1. https://kenney-assets.itch.io/fantasy-ui-borders
    2. https://ko-fi.com/alderdoodle/shop
If you worry that the font that you choose may not be dyslexic-friendly, you can still offer a version of your project with an easy-to-read typeface for accessibility purposes.

Not to be autistic and overly literal, but I think I need more clarification or examples here of what "customization" means to you. I guess my actual zine has body text in Georgia, but I can't add borders without compromising my design, both aesthetically and in the technical sense that it's optimized for home print, so I would have to add the borders to the active printing area and therefore resize or remove images and significantly rearrange the text to accommodate them. Do images count? Does visibly intentional text formatting, such as footnotes, count?

HostSubmitted

Images and formatting counts! We're ultimately looking for anything that shows time and care went into the document, so it sounds like you're good in that regard.

Cool, thanks!

Submitted

Asking as the project I submitted may look like this at first glance, I formatted useing google docs and then added images at the end. Is that considered customized enough? (I also offer an epub version so my question may be moot.)

HostSubmitted

As this is a collection of short stories, it would fall under our Books/Novels rule, which does not require individual pages of the work to be customized to a high degree.

By the way, we wanted to note that the name of the pdf has a (2) in the file, so it's "Life's a Zoo (2).pdf" rather than "Life's a Zoo.pdf", which seems unintentional just in case you wanted to fix that!

Submitted

It was an issue with how it saved to my computer (I have a first file that is set up for when I print the physical copies). If you all want I can adjust it, though it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hi, am I correct in understanding that albums/EPs of music not intended or licensed for use as game assets will not be accepted?

HostSubmitted(+1)

Howdy The Falling Dream, this is BáiYù of tofurocks here! We're open to original artbooks and music albums and see that we forgot to fix the wording that makes that clear. That's been fixed now, so please feel free to submit those types of projects to the bundle!

Submitted

great, thanks <3

I’d like to submit to this with my Bonus Pack which released in 2023. It includes a steam key if you manually build the bundle.

My question is, would it be possible to get an exception to submit my older game “He Fucked The Girl Out of Me” with it as well as it is meant to be an artbook for that game?

HostSubmitted(+1)

Hey Taylor, thanks for checking in! Since the artbook is bonus content for HFTGOOM, we can make an exception and include the base game in the bundle. We'll note it down for when the review process is under way. Happy to have you!

Submitted(+1)

Thank you!

I've filled in the cryptform but when I went to add my submission via itch one of my titles wasn't available to submit. It was released on the 6th of Feb, is it too new or should I be trying my luck with itch admin?

HostSubmitted

Hi Sero, we shot you an email about this! We're not sure why you weren't able to submit but we're hoping the custom submission link fixes the issue.

Submitted

Thanks, but it turns out it was a PEBKAC (problem exists between keyboard and chair) error. I got them both submitted now. I was running on fumes yesterday.

Submitted

Thank you all for putting the bundle together!

I have a question about licensing. The music I’m using in a potential entry has seemingly contradictory licensing requirements when I go around to the musician’s various websites. I will replace the music if I can’t get the terms cleared up. That change would be done by June.

If I don’t submit to the bundle early, there’s an uncomfortably high chance I won’t return to the entry form until April. So do I submit the project now, or I should I wait until I’m completely confident about all the licensing terms?

HostSubmitted

Hello Acin, this is BáiYù of tofurocks here. It's unfortunate when assets don't have clear licensing and out of an abundance of caution, I might suggest submitting a secondary project that you're more confident about just in case you're unable to find replacements for those music tracks. Worst case scenario, drop us an email so we can figure out what to do for you.

Submitted

Thank you.

Status: I’m on the search for appropriate public domain music. After I cancelled my application and posted here, the music creator returned my message that the song (under CC BY 4.0) may not be used for any game, which along with the supposed musician’s Q&A specifically encouraging game use has me questioning if the other side is only spitting out chatbot answers sans awareness of what the English-language statements mean.

This experience has me sore about using audio for anything published. I’ll make ebooks out of my games to reduce risks for the bundle.

HostSubmitted

Yikes! Sorry you had that experience. Please feel free to reach out if you need help putting that together, I know that spoons can be extremely variable on a day to day basis.

Submitted

Thank you for the offer of help. I would’ve felt bad taking it, but it was generous.

My visual short is back up with new (much older music with clearer statuses).

Submitted

I'm trying to apply, but I can't get the Cryptpad link to work, it just gives me a blank screen that says "This account was deleted because of inactivity."

HostSubmitted

Uh oh, that doesn't sound right! Can we ask what browser you're using? Most of the moderation team is using Firefox or a variant of that, and we just found the official CryptPad FAQ that has a list of extensions that may break the website. After you've taken some of their recommended steps, try this link below one more time:
https://cryptpad.fr/form/#/2/form/view/YCmnVL1L4FGVcMB8Iz7mXGynikk7tPsK3buRxtdqT...

If that doesn't work, shoot us an email and we'll see if we can get a workaround going for you.

Apparently there was a firefox update waiting, and once I let that restart it worked. Thank you for replying!

Submitted

If the content we submitted is in the submission section does that mean our submission is accepted? Or is there any additional steps?

HostSubmitted(+2)

Hi Team Boke, thanks for your patience!

Filling out the CryptPad form and submitting your project(s) to the jam is everything required from your part at this time. Both appear to be done, so that should be good. Once the "jam" is over, we will be manually reviewing all of the submissions. If your submission is approved for the bundle, you will be informed via email with next steps. We anticipate this happening around the 3rd week of April.

Submitted

Amazing, thank you for the reply, so informative. Hoping for the best.

The latest Public Updates post brought up another question from me.

For representation: I interpreted that area’s description on the form as asking about minority ethnic or disability representations as expressions of queerness.

I didn’t count characters who’re depicted only as queer PoC or disabled but not queer in ways specific to being PoC or disabled.

Is that how representation on the form was meant to be interpreted?

HostSubmitted

We appreciate you thinking deeply about the representation in your game. The form's purpose was more general - "Does your project feature lesbians?," "Does your project feature people with x disability?," etc.

There's no need to resubmit if you don't want to, but if you truly feel the need to re-do the form to clarify the representation in your content then let us know via email so we can track down your first application and make a note.

Submitted

Will do.

Abashed to be asking this again, but I'm getting the same error: trying to fill out the "Social Media Post Form" and "Streamer & Press Contact Form" you emailed us, and Cryptpad is just giving me a "this account was deleted due to inactivity" error. Previously some combination of turning off my VPN and checking for Firefox updates fixed this, I have no idea why, but those aren't working this time. Are there any alternative methods of taking care of this step?

HostSubmitted(+1)

Hi Rob, we answered your email but for anyone else encountering this issue, here's what we wrote:

We haven't seen this error message before but we can confirm that the CryptPad account that the PoP Bundle Team is using is certainly still active. If you use a few extensions on Firefox, check this official FAQ for things that may not play well with the site: https://docs.cryptpad.org/en/FAQ.html

If the issue persists, please let us know and we can send you the questions and input your answers for you.

Good news, I found another workaround, in case anyone else is experiencing the same issue: opening the link in Chrome, which I otherwise never use, for some reason worked fine. I guess that establishes the issue must be with Firefox?
