Really appreciate the storytelling and updates. But the android version I think could use some work.
Atleast for me, I can't keep up with the stories easily. All of my saves never work whenever I update the android version, in fact Im not able to skip any text either (when starting a new game) it's as if the game resets completely. This wasn't too much of an issue with previous updates but update 9 has broken all the saves now (used to be like one or two wouldnt work).
God DAMN! This is such a good visual novel! Random thoughts:
The character art in this game is easily my favorite out of all the projects. Obviously, the writing is as outstanding and well-done as ever.
Nik is by far my favorite character and route thus far. Words cannot express how much I love his character. I also quite like Yao, he's awesome! I'm... very worried about those bunkhouse photos though...
William is a character I've gone from loving, to hating, to liking. I weirdly adore Todd though. Oh, and I quite like the way Will's route is going! I like the prospect of Will and Sam getting closer, and intimate.
Murdoch is a character I'm uneasy about, but lowkey really like. He seems like a genuine, yet split-second deceptive fellow. Good stuff.
Cliff is the outlier, and yet is still great. Lovely and earnest change of pace, and while he's refreshing, I don't have a feel for his plot yet.
Cynthia is such a sweet and cool woman. I hope she gets every single hug she deserves in life, oh my lord. What an awesome ladyfriend.
I never thought i could be scared in a visual novel, i mean, i even had to turn the lights to read it all, and the last thing i needed to read was the Cliff´s route and the end made me shit my pants xD
The only routes that didnt scared me too much are Nik´s and William´s
The most scary ones i dont know if i should choose Murdoch´s or Cliff´s one, but (spoilers) Murdoch´s one, when youre in the darkroom and see that weird image with that sound for just a sec..dude i was SCARED
This game is amazing so far all the routes intrigue me and scare me at the same time so great job so far , I'm looking forward to this game being finished...

Some particularly long dialogs are cut in the end because they don't fit in the square, so there is no way to read that last part. I'm playing the android version.
I really love how Sam's feelings and thoughts are much clearer to the reader then Chase's. Although it worked quite well with Echo, since we're not supposed to know much about the group at the beginning, having the clear plans of the protagonist on how he really sees the people around him, compared to Chase only dropping hints around about his culpability and stuff.
What the FUCK is that thing in the mirror on William's route?!?! he says "you think you're the first to spill blood in Echo?" and some THING appears right fucking there, missed it completely on my first playthrough, only noticed it by chance when I was going through it again to get to the new content for him
Also, I think in Nik's route some of the music isn't effected by the volume sliders
I freaked out the first time I saw that too. Maybe it's just smoke from the candlelight, maybe it's the "thing". Sam does say that he feels something in his room in other routes (forgot whose route).
Yes, I saw that too. They appear right after William starts to insult Cliff. So, basically, every time something appears, it's above William's shoulder. Once when he talks about murder, and the second time when he becomes aggressive. I really, really don't like this guy in the first place, but if he's somehow a bringer of doom (kind of like Chase), I am not spending anytime with him!
Not related to William, but in the last CG in Cliff's current route you can also see something waay in the background that looks like a person looking onto the scene... no glowing eyes tho
OMFG I TOTALLY MISSED IT TOO. I love you so much for noticing it!! That to me looks like a wendigo! The name is brought up at some point by Jenna in Echo and it just makes so much sense now. Absolutely loved this detail!!!
This is amazing. Finished most of the current Echo routes and I love that you guys are working on this too. Really great characters, atmosphere and storytelling as usual. Just wanted to comment to say thanks and keep it up :).
Yo what. Just finished the Murdoch route and uh....yeah. I feel like he’s going to have the most depth out of all the route simply because of the photography motif...also it’s kinda confusing how the ghostly voice thing said a lot....almost like a rambling of sorts. In Echo, within my very limited play time, it didn’t seem like it did that stuff. Chase was usually alone in his thoughts, but Samuel was with Murdoch when it happened. The picture alteration didn’t really make sense either....but I guess...Echo. Other than me being lost on the voice thingy, great update and thanks!
Hey I just noticed that on the current android build 6, there's a sort of bug in the sprites, on Murdoch's route on the next day after the "bet" he talks to Samuel about his job offering while sprouting a tent! This happens too with Cliff and Nik's route, but on the former is with Murdoch (again) and the latter with Cliff. While I know this is a game feature and of course there will be times for tents to happen, i think those are incompatible with the conversation and albeit short, happens multiple times. And of course, aside of any other bugs, the game is amazing, there isn't many VN's with a rich story AND erotic scenes bundled up together and making sense! Adastra, Echo and this one are rare gems.
Isn't Willlan a wolf though? If so, I'm afraid he'll be the one to get the forced amputation. Also (spoiler for the end of TJ's route), I remember that when Chase is absolutly loosing it in his hotel room, he sees a red fox hanging himself. I'm afraid Murdoch's route isn't going to end well either...
In one of the latest updates on Jenna's route, Chase had an out of character flashback/dream and accidentally ran over someone who was albino, presumably Samuel, he ended up dying after failed attempts to get him out from under the car and was buried in the desert
Yes, but isn't the dream with Sydney's father and Janice ? If so, it's long after Sam's time, especially if he's the victim of the last mass hysteria (which, according to what Clint said, is quite possible).
I have a question, if we play the android version, for future update, how do I actually do that? If I have to update manually, what is the step by step?
This is definitely an interesting story to follow. I feel like after playing Echo, I already know how it's going to end, and yet I'm compelled to play through it anyway. I sincerely hope I'm wrong though. Spoilers ahead I guess, for this, Echo and Adastra.
Regardless, I've enjoyed what I've played so far. I liked the Adastra reference in Cliff's route, and the coded message in Murdoch's route is extremely unnerving, especially as it's strongly implied his sister left it for us to find. What does she want us to find in the basement? While I do like Nik as a character and feel he's probably the best fit for Sam chemistry-wise, I feel like William's is the route to go. Honesty has never backfired before, right?

I feel (though it may not even be set in the same universe), Echo the town is a focal point for the Other, as named in Adastra. The antithesis to life and everything natural, Amicus said it could make you see things that weren't there (which Echo has done) and both Chase and Samuel have described Echo as being something intensely unnatural, something that invokes a response on an instinctual level. I'm probably just reading too much into things though.
i was thinking the same thing as explain in adastra that the others are things you cant really explain and also in adastra that earth was used as an experiment planet that is why there are many cultures maybe one of those experiments cause a large entry in the town of echo as amicus says they only appear on little areas and not that present itself
Ah, Explains a bit of my theory, But what if, The 'other' is actually harboured in the town of echo? Like it is said in adastra, fragment of 'The other' comes off and slowly leeches of the life of a planet as it turns in into a place of utter despair, What if the creature in 'Echo' that attacked chase and his friends was a part of 'The other'?
I saw that it was a Horror/Romance and thought "Oh, it's spooky too ok, shouldn't be that bad.
I am curled with my blanket in the corner of my bed because I'm scared something is going to touch me at any second, and I'm only like, 10 minutes in, I am genuinely spooked right now omg.
