Liked having to explore the street to find the pieces before the chess began. And that slip was also definitely slick lol

I don't know if I'm very good at chess or just cheating, great joob!

This is incredibly creative, I'm glad I played it! The cheating mechanic was killing me, or maybe I'm just really bad at chess. The BYOC format is so effortlessly funny though.

Solo dev legit made this thing like it was no big deal with the complex way of designing a chess game with strange playstyles and pieces. Would love to see what this dude can do in 2 weeks lol

I always love chess with a twist. Overall presentation was a delight, even just the intro to get in to the game was a really fun idea!

It was a lot of fun hunting for the different pieces and cobbling together my chess ensemble. "Pawn Shop" was a cute play on words. The snow crunching sound was a nice touch. I slipped in the oil multiple times. The guy who answered the door scared me haha. For some reason it took me longer to beat the tutorial than it did to beat the rest of the game (my opponents just kept leaving their kings wide open).  This was an enjoyable, chill time overall. Nice work!

very creative theming and a hilarious take on chess tournaments. hiding the pieces was awesome.

The "bring your own pieces" scavenger hunt was fun and funny! Nice job programming chess rules and computer players. The characters had personality, and the world you built was fun!

The oil was very slick, looking around and finding every chess pieceby having funny little conversations was very fun, the checker is definetly my favorite chess piece. The opponents were kind of silly though since they sacrificed their kings quite often. But it has a lot of personality.

Finally, chess I can win at. Call me crazy, but I think some of those guys were using illegal moves....

This felt like Animal Crossing on the Gamecube and I absolutely loved it. Nice job on this!

I love the concept. I love chess and love spins on it like this

No en passant literally unplayable 0/10

In all seriousness, it has a lot of personality and the pieces are satisfying to move. I would comment on the ai being too easy, but you already addressed that in your dev log post and I’ve spent way too much time playing chess so I don’t get to complain.

The presentation and concept are great!
With more dev time this game could be awesome :)

I like the idea of slick chess, and I love the "pawn shop".  I understood the concept of being able to cheat, but I didn't really see it in action.. Perhaps I missed something.  I also wasn't sure what the checkers are for.

The game is very easy, in its current incarnation, though.  Also, this may be the first time I've actually taken a king in chess. =)
