This reminded me a bit of some of the early arcade games. Easy to pick up and hypnotic! but I can imagine the difficulty spiking as the incoming waves get faster.
I tried to "double tap" to get 2 kills, but wasn't able to. That might be an interesting way for the player to have more skill expression. Or, maybe the attack window gets tighter or moves faster.
Thanks for comment 😄 Actually there is skills system in Android version. As well as higher difficulty.
like other people said, its simple but GOOD! :D
You managed to put a lot of game feel into a simple and easy to understand gameloop! That is not easy to do :)
This is a really juicy game! Great screenshake and sounds! You've got a nice simple core loop and you made it fun.
One small thing I think would make this game a little better is sound effect variation! When a common action is going to be repeated often, I try to have 2 or 3 different variations of the effect play at random. However even if you only have one a nice trick to increase variety is to slightly modify the pitch by a random amount, most tools will let you do this! I like to start at .95 - 1.05 of the pitch and see how that feels for the particular effect and adjust from there. The slight variation helps the player not notice it's the same one or few sounds over and over again and makes the game feel a lot better even if they don't notice it consciously.
Great job!
Thanks for feedback. You are right :) I didn't know it before the jam. Now I know, because someone also point it out this in comment, I even implemented this in my other game and it works well :)
Very cool game and unique mechanic! I think it would be interesting if the rotational speed got a faster as you progressed (it felt a little slow to me). Also my eyes had a very hard time not thinking the largest circle is the color that would be used, rather than the little bar. Might just be a me problem, but maybe there's way to make it more obvious. But overall solid submission!
Actually I am implementing possibility to buy speed and other skills by money earned. I am planning to add in next Android release.
Very simple gameplay but really fun and engaging! Really wish the levels were longer or had some sort of infinite mode!
Simple but really well implemented. I would like to see it as an endless mode game, with the levels I found I would just get into a flow state and then the level would be over.
Actually I went from endless mode to level one :) Next levels will be longer.
Neat game. I liked the mechanics of the game, simple but effective. A feeling of progression would go a long way for this game, as the first four felt pretty similar. A bit of BGM would be nice too. After hitting the space bar a bunch, the same noise gets repetitive, so I suggest varying the pitch for the spacebar sfx as the player will be hearing that a lot. Overall though you did a great job with the game!
Thanks for feedback. Very good sugestions :)
Fun game! Really liked keeping track of which colors spawned when and planning my switches ahead of time once I got to three colors. Each wave felt nice and looked good. My only complaint was that it wasn't longer, the last level was really fun!
I played for a while and I liked it, I think this game would be perfect with music where each tap changes the musical rhythm, it's just an idea but I felt that need because of how hardcore it could get at high levels.
A nice little mobile phone time waster. I think your juice and gamefeel is really on the spot here, each sfx and screen effect really work together to elevate the experience. I must say I believe the concept would be greatly elevated by a progression system. You could have a choice of upgrades every once in awhile, things like, increase ball orbit speed, increase firing bar window length, area of effect arc of damage emitting from the ball when firing, autofiring turrets, freeze bombs, two balls, radar warning of incoming comets, etc etc, while stacking on more color rings until it becomes beautiful chaos. Nice entry, I enjoyed playing it.
Thanks for exhausting comment :) Good point, actualy all of this things or at least part of them are in the plan.
This was a really well made game. Sounds were good, game play was simple yet engaging. The colors and graphics were good as well.
Very cool game with nice graphics - simple but good
really cool! I like the learning curve and the fact that the mechanics need to be learned
Good to know. Thanks!
