Game description
Set Sail in this 2d physics platformer, battle massive waves and upgrade your boat to get further

Theme interpretation
I made the ocean using a sum of sine waves, and the player needs to manage how these waves try to tip them over

Very funny entry. No burrito bison or learn to fly, but it was good to have the same feeling that those games gave. Also good job with the art it is very fitting :D

Kept me playing! by the end with all the upgrades, you can pretty much hold space and not tip over, but that was a good ending point anyway haha. nice game

One of if not the best interpretation of the game :D

Getting to see how next upgrades affect the game definitely kept me intrigued.

At the start the "tipping point" of the boat felt a bit unfair. I often felt that I could still save the situation but the game had already decided that I will fall. This got better through upgrades of course.

Overall, a simple game that kept me playing longer than I should admit.

Love this idea. It's very simple, but it's so strongly on theme and it felt quite satisfying to get the ebb and flow of the waves.

Pretty fun game, i liked the mechanics, simple but entertaining. Id like to have some kind of feedback or hud to know when playing what its happening

very bouncy very responsive gameplay, the voice acting is funny. Nice work!

That was fun! There's technically no challenge since you can just drown and eventually get enough money to max out your boat, but it's fun to watch and try to stay afloat as long as possible. Well done!

That's fun to fight with waves as a sailor!

Fun game! Was a short and sweet little game with a very strong used of the wave theme, I liked it

This is a fun game with some serious flaws in my opinion. Its strong points are the wave simulation that directly ties into the theme of the jam, and the audio direction is great (I get a little chuckle whenever I hear that "set sail").

I think mechanically the game is troubled. The placement of the player's ship on the left of the screen and the sails indicates that your goal should be moving right, when in reality you need to stay afloat and tilting your craft results in tipping. Like, the first couple of play-sessions are basically a drowning simulator. Upgrades like the paddle basically insta-kill you.

At least you respawn quick and try again. Once you get a couple of upgrades the game actually gets going and your input can actually help you stay alive longer. I did make it to the final upgrades of each category, but that was mostly by leaving the game on and resetting it when I died because any input tends to make you lose faster :)

Overall - technically impressive game with a great interpretation of the theme, but with a starting player experience that might push people away.
