A really good game created in a tight deadline , good job. Thought that the locker with note would have some interactivity ( a hidden secret for this adventure maybe ? ).

Multiple characters with animations, a map andddd cutscenes!? You made great use of your time and created a really cool game. Sweet visuals and music, and just really well put together overall. Thanks for checking out my game and great job on yours!
the game is really fun, 10 out of 10 and in case you were wondering i named the alien bob
Really cool concept! I like the art and music choice a lot! I left you a rating. Please give our game jam game a play if you have a minute.
You did a great job on this love the art!
If you could take a look at my game too it would mean a lot :)
Feels like a lot of work went into this from the really nice map design to the engine repair animations and menus. Taking crew members out of cryo pods could be a really interesting finite resource/puzzle element, or perhaps even selecting the crew members based off of what their roles were when they were alive, like some sort of bizarre but cozy ghost ship. Liked it a lot, well done on packing so much in in such a short time period and submitting.
Nice story intro! I like the concept of possessing a human being to interact the physical world, but sometimes I just struggled to find a body to control. Great work anyways!
You can check out my game if you have some time:)
very nice graphics and music, very relaxing vibe despite the tasks that threaten the ghost with stress. a personal "wow" from me is that the collision boxes for the vertical walls are perfect, i wish i knew how to do that
Hey thanks a lot for playing my game and I am glad you liked its graphics and music.
and about the collision boxes,
Here's how I managed them:
Instead of using the collision of the objects itself, I made a separate tiled sprite for collision and in the events I just added: [When player is in collision with collision box: separate player(only player will move)]
Also for vertical walls, what I think amazed you is that when we stand on the back side, the wall is on top and when we are on front the wall is on back. To do this I added all such objects to a object group called "Zobjects"(you can name anything). Then in the event I added 2 functions,
1. At the beginning of the scene -> set Z Order of "ZObjects" to Y position of "ZObjects". (So this way every object now has a unique ZOrder based on their Y position, Now if I place a table just below the wall then at the beginning of the scene because the table has Y position higher than that of the wall, the table will appear in front of the wall) (because in GDevelop as we move towards bottom direction, value of Y increases ) (NOTE: Don't add the ground to the group "ZObjects", we want the ground to be always at the bottom so simply set it's Z order to be in negative)
2. Now we have the Z order of objects figured out, but player still has a fixed z order. To fix this we add an event to run without any condition such that: [change Z order of player to Player.Y()] (This way if if player goes beneath a table then it will appear to be in front of the table and when it goes back then because the Y positon of player decreases, it will appear on the back of the table)
and if you were amazed by the fact that the feet of player is aligned perfectly with the bottom of the wall, then that is because I placed the collision boxes to be that way.
I hope I was able to help.
I love the way you used the theme in multiple ways. That is so cool! I really strive to make a game with a cohesive story like this one day! The tutorial was also handled really well.
I thought that the walking animation on the character was a little wonky. A sprint button would also be cool. For the controls, I think WASD for movement and e for interaction might have been more intuitive, and tab could be map.
I hit a couple of bugs where the character was stuck in a walk cycle during a message, and I think I was moving the ghost's shadow during another. But the ghost was not appearing.
The game has a lot of polish, and the art is all great! Music was making me feel chilled out. I think getting the soda and having the drink animation was a really nice touch.
Congrats on a great entry!
Hey! Thanks a lot for such detailed feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed the game and it inspire you to make something similar someday.
I am aware of the fact that animations may not look great but that's also because of the time constraints. I hope to improve further after the jam. You're right about the controls too, I could've atleast given an option to use WASD but sorry for not adding it yet. Actually I used similar controls to the games like Undertale and Omori.
I will look into the bugs you mention and fix them soon.
Thanks again! Your comment means a lot to me.
Dude, you didn't made me play a game. You made me play a story. It engages, it has a shade of sadness, and the music at the 100 years scene was perfect. Has some minor bugs but overall you made a very enjoyable piece of art. It really looks like you planned and designed before starting the game. Congratulations!
Bugs:
- Sometimes triggering the action Z spawns multiple times the dialog.
- Hitting the wall as ghost sometimes before entering the pod shows the warning (even when you are not trying to reach other rooms)
- The hammer didn't show up on my gameplay (like I've already picked it up)
- The meteorite dissapeared when tried to fix it.
- If you move when hammering the engine moves.
- When it tolds you to take food, the body dissapears.
Hope you can reproduce them! Have a nice day.
I am surprised to know that you faced so many bugs. Some were intentional, for example disappearance of the meteor but hammer not appearing must have to do with the glitch many web games face(sometimes some stuffs doesn't work properly in browser games and requires a full refresh). I hope I can reproduce the bugs and fix them. Thanks for providing detailed list.
The menu and music for it fits perfectly, so does the sounds in game also! Very chill, and good objectives. Would be nice to have a minimap or indicator for certain stuff. But nice use of the words "take control" also lol. Good job!
