I still don't get what's the difference between a test build and a game page... I exported the game as a gd game link. Does that mean I have to upload an html 5 version

Just tried your game. I guess next time I can at least figure out something more attractive to put on the cover, like a more readable and obvious title on the cover like you did (mine was in the wrong ratio haha) The idea and creativity in your game really shines! It perfectly fits the theme of this jam. I know there are multiple ways to take on the theme of a game jam, but I figured focusing on the game mechanism instead of story telling is more suitable for a short game jam. Nice work:) I'll try considering themes better next time.
Thank you for your feedback! About the blood effect, I simply used an object that has multiple animations for the blood effect. The animations will get randomized when they are generated upon hitting or killing an enemy. Well actually I didn't design the blood to be yellow... It's just that I suppose this game jam wouldn't allow too much gore. Sadly there is no normal mapping in gdevelop, so the blood effect would look super weird when there is no wall in the background.
I made a silly mistake before exporting XP I forgot to set the menu scene as the starting scene, so yes, the opening and objectives are omitted. You have to die at least once to see the full introduction. About the theme though, I meant to create some sort of paradox here: you have to rise against the control of the bad guys by taking control over them. I did over-scoped the project. I actually thought of adding a bunch of dialogue before the boss fight to emphasize the theme of "take control", like in mgs where you have a twenty minute long political debate before a boss fight XP I'll try manage time and scale more wisely next time.
Yeah... maybe I really should have done that. I thought the gdevelop link would be sufficient. I missed submitting the itch version due to some connection issues... almost missed uploading the cover. I did asked the organizer to help me with the cover, but then I forgot about the itch version:( This jam is about to end so I guess it won't do much if I upload the itch version now.
Yes! I did took some inspiration from katana zero but didn't have time to implement it:( The enemies' AI are still a bit dumb. About the I-frame... I once thought of giving the grab action some of that, but then I figured that would have made the game too easy>:) The crowding of enemies still needs to be revised, yes. Thank you for your feedback!
Yeah... I just forgot to set the menu scene as the starting scene, so you actually have to die once to process the game normally. And about the UI bullets... NO. It's just that the bullets have heart-shaped cross-sections. I'm actually not really good at drawing this kind of stuff so sorry if if leads to any allusion:) I'm not sure about the audio bug though. I'll keep testing. Good luck!
This game is amazing! I love the direction you went with the art style! Cool intro at the beginning. How did you managed to do that? That was impressive. It's just I don't really know what is the time to punch the kaiju, so it was a pretty hard game for me. Great job!
Also, if you have a minute, would you like to try my game?
Thanks a lot! I kind of over-scoped thee project at first so I didn't have enough time to polish the enemies' AI... What I wanted to make at first is like the enemies in Katana ZERO which are very responsive and smart. I'll try adding them in future updates:) Also, the shooting range of the gun is infinite, so I'll have to revision the level designs... Also you're right about the control theme. I attempted to add the theme into the story of the game, but then I forgot to set the menu scene as the starting scene:( The link is also not very strong as well. Thanks for your comment anyway! It means a lot! I'll definitely make this game better! Good luck on the jam!
Well I forgot to compress the music so maybe sometimes it won't be loaded? Could be some weird bugs. Sorry the bgm didn't work for you. I really enjoyed the composer's music. The enemies' AI is still an issue to be revised in the future. Didn't really have enough time by the end of the jam. Thanks for your feedback anyway!
I know it is pretty stupid to ask this question at the end of this jam... but I really struggled with getting people to play my game. I didn't get many ratings:( So I just wondered how I can get people to try my game. I know some communication with other participants would do, but I still wonder if there's a way to make the game appeal to more viewers. Would a cool title or cover work?
