Hooray! A Godot project, and it's fun too :)
Great choice of tension music, the whole thing felt very uneasy even when the spooky ghosts turned up, it didn't put a half to the unease. I wish there had been a button to make it go fullscreen though, as it wouldn't quite fit on my monitor! Good work though :)
Nice music and art, the ghosts weren't too threatening, still spooky though. Got VERY lost, but it was still a fun time. For some reason the map was completely black for me, not sure if that's a bug or not.
Thanks for playing. That must have been a bug. Maybe a weird browser thing. I'm not sure.
I found it very entertaining, especially because of the art and music you used.
Thanks for playing!
The visuals and vibes. The backround music and low poly environment helped it feel pretty forboding. There's a good basis here for a horror boomer shooter which I'd love to see expanded on.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, it's nowhere near as complete as we wanted to make it. It was supposed to end up being a little Doom (DOS version) like. We really only had like 2-3ish days to mess with it.
Cool game! I liked the visuals and game mechanic a lot. Killing the ghosts was fun and find the ghost to save was cool to with the map. Awsome work!
Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it.
I got quite lost after I freed all of the souls, I seemingly saw the house on the map and went down the path that I tought would take me there but it ended up being a dead end, even though it looked like the path that gets me to the house, which made me quit the game, making a cricle around the whole map again would have been tedious, the layout could have been designed a little bit better, but the map made my life hell of alot easier, the map is a great feature!
The sounddesign is quite well done and fits the game aesthetic.
The art is a little inconsistent, the hand in the ui could have worked but the particles on the candle didn't look as good, maybe a 3 frame animation of the flame moving could have worked alot better, there is also a jumping mechanic for some reason?
I expected the monsters to be a bit more scary, the game had some tension and ambiance to it that made me quite scared, even keeping the monster same and making them do a scare sound, maybe even some gostly screaming would have made the game so much more scary!
Overall, quite a solid game, just adding a scare noise for the ghosts, and making the map abit more coherent would have made it so much better!
Thanks for playing! We appreciate the feedback. Yeah, I forgot to remove the jump, it's part of the template for a character 3D movement. I wasn't sure what features we were going to have time to implement and just forgot to remove it. The first part doesn't let you get past the gate unless you have the map, there is a LARGE part of the map that you shouldn't be able to get to unless you jump over the wall and there is no way back, you're basically soft locked at that point.
If you save all the souls, there's a key that opens the second gate. It doesn't take very long to beat and there's no loop that you should hit unless you didn't save the one near the map or by the gate then you do have to come back. The key is a bit small and hard to see on the "map." There's no map, it's a camera view from the sky.
We did have sounds for the ghosts and we had story for the ghosts and souls to save, we just didn't have time to implement and test before the submission time.
I love the old school fps ambience, it was pretty great, after freeing souls i got lost for a little while but the map helped me to get out. Thanks for adding a map and thanks for the submission! it was pretty great!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, I wanted to give the impression of getting lost at first, but wanted to give players a way to navigate easily. The map is actually a camera looking down from above.
Managed to save some souls. After a while I got lost. I think I am the one that needs saving.
Thanks for playing! I wanted to add a count to the HUD and didn't have time. There's a key you have to pick up for the gate to unlock. We forgot to add a marker on the minimap for it.
The sound design is amazing, I think maybe a quest reminder to show you what you're working on would be helpful aside from that AWESOME GAME!!!
Thanks for playing. Yeah, that's not a bad idea.
Nice dungeon crawler game! I think you can edit the page to enable fullscreen button so that the players no longer have to worry about cursor going off-screen.
Thanks for playing. The game captures the mouse better now so hopefully people don't have trouble with it.
There's quite a few things we didn't get to add to the game. There is no dialog, even though the settings are there and I didn't have a chance to add the SFX/etc playing when you adjust the sound, sorry about that.
For context, the dialog that comes up first is your character. If you click the message away and a second message comes up, that's supposed to be a narrator/voice that you hear.
