Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!

I've made the close button a bit bigger in the latest version, but yeah I'm not too happy with the UI at the moment. At some point it's going to need a big overhaul.

Played it on web, and I love the cyberpunk vibes, the pixel art, and the theme of dehumanisation through an uncaring system. The only bad points I had were:

  • I wasn't sure where to go after giving the homeless guy the map
  • I ran into a few text issues which I think may be something to do with how Godot runs in browsers (Had a similar issue with a couple of my projects). This only happened at the kiosk.

Overall I really enjoyed it though! Wishlisted on Steam :)

I only played a little bit of the demo, but am enjoying it so far. I really like how creative and weird the enemy designs are, kinda just wanna explore just to see what the next monster is gonna look like!

This was pretty fun! I played up to the point where I got the guy in the capital to look at the map. I like that it didn't really hold my hand and trusted me to investigate, talk to people and poke around the map. Gonna keep my eye out for the full version!

Really fun demo! Love the CRT shader you're using!

Love the concept, was very panicky at the start when I couldn't get my train to stop, but figured it out eventually.

I've just released a demo version of Skull Arena, a turn-based RPG where you lead a party of champions towards their inevitable betrayal

The game currently has the following:

  • Four waves of enemies, with a boss encounter on the final wave
  • Four playable characters to choose from
  • Pixel art inspired by JRPG classics

There are likely to be a lot of bugs, and the game still needs some balancing, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, this kinda hit :(

Really love the colour palette. I'm guessing you used some kind of shader?

Hi, thanks for the feedback! That’s a nice big chunk of useful info for me to think about. Also good catch with the Darkest Dungeon influence!

You’ve got a point about how easy it is to just focus on levelling up one character. I’ve been a bit concerned about that as well, but I don’t want to completely remove the option. I want the final version to be kind of exploitable, but in a fun way. The solution I’ve got at the moment is to have the boss versions of each character give bonus exp when they’re defeated. Also thinking about your suggestion of having downtime between fights with some rogue-like aspects, that could be a good way to fix this. I’m thinking of having the option to get the party to chat with each other between fights to get a little stat boost and some character development, but with a chance that the conversation could lead to one of the characters betraying the party. I’d need to think over this a bit first, and I want to focus on actually finishing the full game before I implement it though.

Also, the bugs you found -should- be fixed in the demo version I’m working on. The turn-skipping issue is one that’s been annoying me for ages, but I think it’s finally been sorted out! The bandits missing their attacks might be because Asash has high evasion. I’ve added a little “Miss” floating text thing so that should make it clearer if that happens.

But yeah, thanks so much for playing, hope you give the demo a try when it’s out!

I love these tracks! Using a couple of them as battle/boss themes for my RPG Skull Arena https://nebulacoffee.itch.io/skull-arena-alpha

I love the writing and the art style. As others have said, it's a little busy visually. Some kind of indication of what on-screen elements you can interact with would be really useful. Maybe an outline of some sort?

This game proves I should never be allowed behind a steering wheel.

This was pretty fun. Would love to see it expanded on.

Only bit of feedback I have is that the spell target radius doesn't really match the pixellated aesthetic of the game. Otherwise I love it - kept me engaged right to the end!

Will take a look! Was this on the Windows or Web version?

Hi!

What issues are you having?

Nice and solid for a prototype. Looking forward to seeing the full game!

Thanks for playing! Gonna fix up the sound issue after the jam. It's not a major issue, and at the time I kind liked how the sound lingered in the background, but yeah it's not actually that great.

Enjoyed this one, but the story ended way too soon! Looking forward to playing the full game.

Love the 2.5d graphics - I can't believe it was made in RPG Maker! Had a great spooky atmosphere and gave me a constent feeling of being lost.

Some really good art and a nice little story. This deserves either a full game or a sequel!

Absolutely love the analogue horror aesthetics. Short experience, but I'm keen to see the full version.

This was a fun little arcade game. Needs a bit more onboardingas it wasn't clear to me who was a zoombie initally, but otherwise I had fun!

Fun, but definitely a different kind of horror to what I was expecting!

Pretty spooky experience! The jumpscares got to me so I didn't manage to make it to the end, but loved the old-school pixellated shading and the atmosphere. Like others have said, the mouse locking is a an issue, but otherwise I think this a solid game.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! Going to try and fix up this softlocking issue after the jam, I think I've found the cause.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! Can you remember whereabouts the freezing happened?

Some really nice environmental atmosphere and artwork. The cinematic was a nice touch, and the sound design really added to the spookiness.

This was a nice, cozy experience. Would love an expanded version with more buildings. The only complaint I have is that it was a bit annoying to put down pavement squares individually.

Great pixel art and a fun little story! Really enjoyed this, and I'm now considering buying a shower gun just in case.

I really want to like this. The art is amazing and I love the concept, but when it came to gameplay I was pretty much just mashing keys to get through each stage.

Needs a bit of onboarding for the first night, but I like the idea. Would love to see this expanded on!

This has potential as an incremental game, but is very bare bones at the moment.

Thanks for playing!

Hi, thanks for trying anyway. Whereabouts did it freeze?

This was a nice little narrative experience. Love the choice of name for the demon!

This was a pretty tense game! As someone with a dog, it was kinda rough to get through, but the core gameplay loop was solid and overall I had fun with it.

Thanks for playing!

The visuals and vibes. The backround music and low poly environment helped it feel pretty forboding. There's a good basis here for a horror boomer shooter which I'd love to see expanded on.
