Cute little game :)
Did you start from scratch or did you already have some things in place that you could reuse, or did you go completely from scratch?
Also, I would be really happy if you could give my game a review as well! I promise it will not take much of your time, its fast paced and played rather quickly :)

I solo’d this GameJam so I have to pull old code from some gamers.tv lessons. Player mechanics and inventory. I used mixamo for animation since the assets were rigged. player characters were also taken from mixamo. AI for code debuging and creating icon sprites. Used blender for tweaking assets aa needed and gimp for art. Thanks for playing and comments.
Hey — I just played your jam entry and enjoyed the atmospheric narrative in The Mysterical Tellings of Mr. & Ms. Graves‑Tome. The ghost-gossip concept is charming and the maze structure you constructed is solid. One suggestion: clearer directional cues could help players orient better, and maybe a visible health bar or status indicator might clarify gameplay feedback.

— thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃
Pretty cute game! For some reason, I really wanted to be able to run with the boy character using the B key (it reminds me of Red from Pokémon). At first, it was a bit confusing to realize that I had picked up the shovel. I only noticed it after opening the inventory. I initially thought I had to press something for it to appear in the icon. Also, I’m not sure how to use the Tome. I assigned it to slot 5 and pressed it multiple times until the game broke and showed a “null function return” error. It’s possible I accidentally pressed 6 or 7 as well, that might help you reproduce the issue.
Sorry, I struggled a bit with this one, I couldn't find the shovel at all. But did find the maze, which was quite well designed. Maybe you need some better cues for the player, like north and east don't mean much without some signage. On the technical side, using Chrome I couldn't fullscreen it because the framerate dropped dramatically.
okay game
Nice, Loved the maze, could do with clearer instructions, but very cute moves well and impeccable collision detection.
Nice game! inventory is great! I liked the little quests and dialogue. Wasn't sure about the instructions that were given in terms of direction. No way to indicate North/East/South/West. had to watch the video to find the shovel, apparently I missed it the first time. Got the yoyo and went to town on the skeletons but I wasn't able to find the tome unfortunately :(
I think the controls could use some tweaking. I found it difficult to aim when attacking, I was constantly re-adjusting by running away from the skeletons just to get my aim right. I noticed there was some sort of zoom in when watching the trailer, but never got it working myself, Tab key didn't seem to do anything.
Health bar is missing, would be nice to know how much damage the skeletons are doing. Oh and I would add a way to stop the player from running off the edge of the map.
It sure ist cute! I am not the person who knoes where cardinal directions are, but if the shovel is in the north let's say in front of me, shouldn't west be left and east right? I went right for the yoyo and then had a book. but I think I ate it and it was gone from my inventory :D :D
I like the yoyo attack a lot! Is the character supposed to still have the shovel in hand when you switch to yoyo?
Attracted by the cover. I was confused at beginning so I went to watch the video and got it. Very nice entry!
(Trick or Treat) The Helpful feature that turns against you is the Pink Candy, which causes damage or death. I'm mentioning it here because it's a random drop and you have to consume it. The lack of a health bar also makes it tough to see.
