I made a video of your game. It's at the 5:05 mark of this video.

Nice puzzle game! I was kind of confused as to what I was supposed to do in order to after I pulled the switch that released a black fog, but after a jump scare, I quickly realized that I was supposed to outrun it and run back to the start of the level, which has now opened up.

Thank you! I'm glad you figured it out. It has occurred to me that some people don't know what to do afterwards. I hope you enjoyed it!

This game is f'ckin awesome LOL. I love the lighting effect you had going, it was super surreal. The ending sequence was thrilling, though after returning up the elevator it's easy to get spawn camped by the black goo fog. Regardless you handled it well by having checkpoints! I love the transition from exiting to the credits, I totally walked right into it (literally). Awesome job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! The lighting engine was from a srapped prototype. I guess it never occurred to me that it would be difficult to get out of the elevator, since in my own playtesting, I only ever rode on top of it 😅. I'm glad you liked the game.

Well I'm not sure what that smoke was but it didn't seem to like me much (fantastic use of fullscreening) :P A delightfully spooky little puzzle time! Some of the ranges on interactions/controls could get a bit fiddly, but still fun

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you! I tried to use the smoke as a way to push the player to backtrack, and I see that a few players did not quite get that (no offense intended), there is something (quite small, but something indeed) if you do make it out of the factory ( I see that you, or most people may not want to do so, as there are many better things to do). I'm glad you enjoyed it

Ok yo, that might have been the best jumpscare I've seen in a while, purely by the creativity of it. I'd say that I wasn't really scared, I feel the blackout effect was too fast to really give tension, but the confusion of having my screen being taken over like that was amazing. I did not you could even do meta stuff like that on web builds like this. But I do also like the simplicity of it, the puzzles were nice and while the movement was rough at times, I do not really mind since there wasn't that many movement intense moments for me. Also huge respect for the creativity in the end credits too, that was really a nice way to do them.

Great work on this, I hope you a very good jam and October too! :D

Thank you, this is my first attempt at finishing a horror adjacent project, and I've not made a jumscare before, I just used the cliche loud+scary formula. In all honesty the credits were just me rushing in the last few hours of development. I'm glad you liked it!

I left the smoke changed. fun platforming and creative puzzles!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Tbh I doubt my skills in puzzle design, so I'm glad to hear that you like it!

I don't know what I just released into the world but it was very loud and angry. That was neat! Well designed levels and I did not expect the ending rush.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear that you liked it! Was the volume an issue?

This was really fun. The animation freezing during the ladders bugged me a bit at the beggining, but the mechanics were easily understood and it was engaging and fun. Great game!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! I don't really know how to animate a slime climbing a ladder, so I just left it as is.

As a fellow Gamemaker dev, I applaud this. I like the lighting technique you used.

Sound design was great. Intuitive but creative puzzles. The pixel art was pleasant and did a lot with a rather limited color palette. I thought semi physics based smoke effect was pretty cool. Not sure what to do after getting jump scared 5 times jumping into a smoke cloud.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! What you do after releasing the smoke is to go back to the first room. I probably should've communicated that better in game.

pretty cool game, would have liked to use space to jump. z felt weird to me. but that might just be me

I will try to keep this in mind for future projects, or make custom controls.
