Hey — I just played Cabin Fever and really enjoyed the atmospheric exploration! The variety of locations you designed—especially the outdoor campsite with the metal cage—stood out with strong environmental storytelling. If I had one suggestion: a tighter focus on fewer areas might let each scene breathe more and deepen the impact.

If you’ve got a minute, I’d love it if you could check out my game and drop a rating: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

— thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃

Cool game!

I really liked the concept of going to and exploring different locations that each have their own flavor of spookiness. Very impressive level design work, my favorite spooky location was the camp in the woods, where you have to get the key from an open metal cage -- that was a good environmental storytelling! Although it felt to me like there was a bit of quantity over quality effect. The game would have benefited, in my opinion, from having fewer locations, but instead having these locations more polished and maybe a little bit more going on in them. This is especially evident with the Halloween location, which has a ton of empty space (although you can argue that being able to peep behind the level geometry and into the black, empty void is its own kind of horror).

Overall, thank you for the game! I really enjoyed it and think that there is great potential for an interesting story there.

I think most of what i notice and felt about the game was captured well by @RangoGames below. The Jump, lack of collision in Oktoberfest etc . A good atmosphere, but eventually became a little repetitive.  A couple of quick fixes would be that if you approach any building including the cabin form the outside, you clip the camera through the wall and can see inside.  And when tv changes channel and the new level loads the player loads in in a different orientation from what they were facing before the level loaded, which is a little jarring.

All that said, I love the concept of interacting with something in one way, that then changes the world around you, very cool idea, and a great starting point for developing the game going forward.

Nice atmosphere, the music and sound effects fit well. I played the game before the jam to finish it and the camera sensitivity was too high, but that's been fixed. Congratulations!

Ah thanks so much for the positive feedback!

Great Game Played it all the way through. Noticed a couple of things, the jump felt very unnatural and broke the immersion for a second, I clipped into some stairs and got stuck, and there were no collisions on the Oktoberfest level. I really liked the atmosphere and sound but the gameplay was pretty repetitive after a couple of levels, maybe a puzzle to find the key or something instead of just searching each time.

Hey thanks for playing and for the great suggestions ❤️

Nice music and overall atmosphere, however the game either bugged or I missed something. So once I closed the door in the cabin I had to choose the right channel, but no matter which one I choose nothing happens:(

And yeah, default mouse sensitivity is crazy, consider decreasing it at least in half.

Thanks so much for checking the game out! Ah interesting bug! We’ll get on that. What level were you on?

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

The very first one unfortunately. I’m on Windows 11, Chrome browser, NVIDIA GPU, Intel CPU.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

oh no! Seems like it may have been a once off thing though. Would you mind giving it one more go?

Submitted(+1)

Tried it once again, and it seems like there is no bug, just the luck of feedback=)

Previously I was just switching the channels waiting for something to happen on the screen or around me, but the thing is I had to see the textual hint change and open the door. And when your attention is concentrated on the TV it is hard to note the small text on the left.

Consider adding some feedback besides the text changed when the right channel is chosen, even a simple sound effect would help.

Overall, a nice game you’ve made! Congratulations on the release!

Ah good news! Glad you enjoyed it, and yes an audio feedback element on the right channel would be a great addition. Thanks!

Very atmospheric! The game works well and I was intrigued!
But I could not find the second key at all :P

Well done! The game is nice and spooky!

Thanks so much for checking our game out! The key in the forest level is in the left cage :P I'd love it if you could give this another go and check out the other levels!

I thought it was pretty cool I too had trouble with the door but eventually got it. I appreciated the UI guidance but in the forest I hit a wall I had a feeling the key was up the watch tower? but try as I might I could not find a wat to use the ladder.

So I guess if this was where the key was that should be made more easier and if it wasnt perhaps you sould have the ladder broken to show it isn't and a perhaps a sporadic glint after x time on key for us noobs lol.

very unique and interesting game, however i couldn't find the key in the forest level and the sensetivity was quite high. i liked the visual theme and had fun trying it out

thanks, I'll check it out. I couldn't even see the left cage (or right) cage, only things i found was the cart and the tent.

might be helpful to add something to subtly guide the players in the right direction (or if your idea was a pure search the area then maybe a smaller play area or some hints) but I'll give it another go!

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Yeah, time constraints and all! XD But a little glint wouldn't hurt.

Really cool game, Loved the atmosphere and the cool Idea. Was a little confused at the start (I think the door might have been bugged) overall had a good time.
